Fee problems
Entered the Turbo process through my banking site, BNS, which quoted a discounted fee (20%) of $96. Turbo charged $120. I had to complain on a phone call lasting about 2 hours. I had to pay the full fees, 3 x $40, and I have to call again to claim refunds. An extremely cumbersome process, and I was told that fees were increased during the course of the 3-4 week process. Failing successfully getting the refunds, i contend that Intuit is in breach of contract.

New Format not user friendly
I do not like this new version The old version was much easier to navigate with the side bar system for all the tax forms listed, instead this new system of drop down menues which entail a lot of searching

Buggy
Medical expenses and entering DONE, the amount of 0.00 needs to be deleted, over and over.again. After entering that you're married does not ask for spouse's information and no guidance on how to get there - had to call for Help.

not good with Tuition tax credit
overall is was OK, but I struggle with the tuition tax credit, I had to pay 90 dollars but before filing my daughter filed first, she transfered 90 dolars to me, but when filing my tax and my wife turbo tax recomended that the total of 4, 700 was applied to my wife!

Premier Package
I used the wizard and based on answers I gave I had to upgrade to Premier. I wanted to ensure I didn't miss something. I could not go back and change the wizard and was forced to pay for the Premier when I didn't need it. I want my $50 back.

Online is more expensive
I used to use CD version of TurboTax Standard which allowed several returns to be filed. Since moving to a Mac, only the online version is available. At $50 per return, it is more expensive.
I also found the online version did not allow me to review the tax forms directly, and was easier to move ahead or back to different sections of the TurboTax return. Online is not as friendly that way.

Problems with TurboTax
We have used TurboTax for years with great success. Unfortunately, the changes in the format that were made this year made it the most difficult to use yet. We had a lot of problems, slow screen changes, and had to go back and restart for some unknown reason.

Not impressed
I used the online version and found that it was not easy to navigate. The left hand menu seemed to be missing, so it was hard to go back and find what I wanted (eg the year over year comparison). And the Q&A Bot was useless. I've been happy other years but not impressed this year.

Shortfalls of Turbotax (TT)
TT is a good tool to guide you through all tax questions and figures to be provided. However, when reviewing the final numbers to be submitted it doesn't give you detailed accounts of the categories, i.e. income, dividends, cap. gains etc. No real way of chequing if the math is correct, unless you run a spreadsheet in parallel.
Further, upon Netfiling TT doesn't tell you the reason why Netfile is not available for my particular return. It only gives you a long list of exemptions which are general. So TT doesn't point you to the section in your return that prevents you from Netfiling.

Impossible to transmit and don't want Expert
I've been using Turbotax for more than 7-8 years. For the first time, I can't transmit to Quebec. It's cost me $110 plus tax for Premier but I don't feel I have the same value this year. 2) I made a mistake and clicked that I wanted Privilege (it wasnt' clear that this was over and above). When I got to the page to pay Turbotax, it was $180 and there was no way to take away the Ask and Review by expert option (which I didn't use). I called to erase this option and was told to start over!

2024 Turbo Tax is not as easy to use as past versions. Their online help is not great, poor Canadian cryptocurrency assistance and difficult to navigate back to difference sections of the form once you have completed your taxes and want to update specific sections.

Just so-not perfect.
Turbo Tax does not handle the donation of shares to a registered charity at all well. If capital gains have occurred on the shares, it is not clear that these gains are not included in income. This should be more transparent. And there is no obvious tab to allow the user to return to an earlier part of the form to make an addition or a correction.
