Price
The cost for basic taxes is too high. We payed $40 for one T5 slip and another $40 for my spouse who only had three slips total. These are very basic tax returns which should be free. Why are we being charged so much for this?

Tedious software
I used the H&R tax software for many years and find your software inferior. Your cost is comparable to H&R, I will not recommend yours to anyone. Tried to transfer tuition credit from my child and it was not intuitive. Had to look up and get help from the community. Would have missed a good chunk of refund.

Not good on specific details
On filing income tax from outside Canada, the app doesn't work well when it comes to currency conversion based on the rate you provide, numbers at the summary doesn't match the numbers introduced.

clunky
don't like the changes to the navigation for this year. The past navigation was excellent, and I often used it as an example in my workplace for setting up a great interface. Now it's quite horrible - too easy to get lost, no flow, harder to find where you were and what you need to do. Feels very disjointed. Please change back.

Frustration
I began doing my nephew's tax. He had two t slips, one showing his AISH and another for a payment of $225 from the University of Alberta. The $225 payment resulted in a need to use Premium. This is ridiculous.
My return also need premium and I tried to change my package that I had bought from Costco to a premium package also bought from Costco. This was not possible unless I began all over with a new account.
Also, I tried to download my slips from Revenue Canada using my Alberta sign in account and this was not possible. It was not one of the sharing partners. The people with whom I spoke on line did their very best, were polite and patient.

Some errors this year
I've never had problems before this year, but in 2 of 3 filed returns there were errors. One of them used a wrong value for previous capital gains losses, yet all my data was imported from CRA - so no idea how turbotax got that wrong. In the other (one of simple no charge filings), TurboTax erroneously applied a credit for lower income that shouldn't have applied.

I found itd difficult to navigate back and forth among the pages, The pension split page did not save the split when returning to it later. It was hard to simply jump to various pages and to see a review at any time

Product could be easier to navigate
I found it complex to navigate back and forth through the forms during the review process. It would be helpful to have drill down functionality on the numbers and form lines during the review process to get to the root.

User friendly system
The product is getting expensive, i will be considering other tax products in the future. My taxes are not complicated and the Turbo system is making it seem that way.
Either change this or i am leaving.

Not what I remember
Seems more cumbersome to use this year. I have used for a number of yrs previously - just the basic package. Got stuck and could not proceed - online help and FAQ were of no help - eventually called and got help. Two interactions with CRA failed at beginning and end. Did eventually get filed - very frustrating.

Worse every year
I will preface this by saying I used to work for Intuit in the Turbotax product area. We used to take great pride in eliminating all unecessary keystrokes, minimizing steps, and ensuring clarity. I currently find Turbotax to be more and more awkward each year. For example, I am providing this review because I was asked if I wanted to provide feedback. This review is not what I expected; I expected a survey. Now that I'm here, there is no obvious way out except to click "preview", which is not an intuitive method of exiting or going back. Just... awkward throughout. Also, sick-to-death of all the inproduct marketing for live tax advice, etc.

confusing to navigate
I trust Turbotax and have used it for years, but I find it very frustrating at times. I would like to see how an amount was arrived at. I haven't found a way to quickly go to the actual tax form.

Instructions not clear
I received email to purchase Turbotax which I did but it wasn;t until I paid and tried to download that I was made aware that it was not compatible with MAC computer. I can't find where to contact you for refund, I completed tax return online and paid another fee which was double. Not really satisfied with this product anymore and I have been using it for probably 20 years.

Older Versions are Better
This year significant changes were made to the structure of the program. Earlier years were much more user friendly and easier to navigate back to the information you wanted.

Not as user friendly
I could not compare year over year as I used to be able to do. I also could not find how to print a summary. Overall the experience was much less smooth than other years and yet the price keeps going up...

Incomplete Download
More difficult this year. CRA download did not include all information slips. Had to manually input approximately 30%. Unable to contact TurboTax for help or to correct CRA down load.
Review shows error on one T3 but there wasn't. Error precluded me from net file.
Not an improvement over last years software.

Had issue with T4PS/releve 25 when filing last part of my return with Quebec netfile. Would not work, got on phone with Turbo tx, they could not help and I did not want to pay extra for 1 error. After filling CRA then I erased my T4PS and left only releve 25, I was then able to net file Quebec.

Don't rely 100% on screens

T3 forms errors
When entering the T3 form info, I repeatedly get errors that Box 52 and Box 53 exceed the total in Box 21, which it does not!
It wouldn't allow me to NETFILE because I could not clear this error. Had to mail my return. Very Frustrating...!!

Bad User Interface Changes
New organization is awful, hard to find items, doesn't process spousal stuff in a logical manner, hard to go through in order. Old system was easier to keep track of.

Good User Interface
Very Good user interface makes taxes easy. Completed online this year for first time. Not sure I will do again as they charge you per person, whereas if you buy the software you can complete up to 8 different returns. Much better value.
