Overpriced
We have been using this program for a number of years now but this year investments went to a premier version and the price went up. With no income and one small investment I paid more to file my taxes than I made off my investment. Not worth the cost when that was literally the only thing I claimed.

Difficult to get sponsor's discount
software has a glitch where transferring an amount from a RRIF to a RRSP as a rollover does not work. Kept telling me the amount I entered exceeded the amount in a box above when it obviously did not.
Would not correct. Thankfully there was a work around I could use. Disappointing that something this basic is broken.

Disappointed
Program fairly easy to use, however discount codes provided do not work this year as they did in previous years and support to resolve is minimal.
Will look at alternatives next year given the cost of this program.

Bought turbotax Deluxe online version, good for 8 returns. However, your program wouldn't let me file our 2 returns until I paid another $80 plus tax.

The discount link given by my bank does not work. Your page shows a discount but the discount appears when I pay. The link is valid till April 30, 2024. The discounts were working last several years.

Price jump
I am a senior on fixed income of which partially is a british pension. All my income is pension and it is unfair I have to pay extra other than the standard return for one form to report that pension. Jumps from $27. to $40.

NSGood
I used to love Turbo tax and found it very cost effective. Now we have pension income and a very small amount of T5 income less than 300$ we have to use the more expensive form - and we have 50% less income. thanks Turbo Tax! Plus somethings are not straight fwd if you are married and want to claim separately like the Carbon Tax Credit.

expansive but not better than other
it has been many years that complain about foreign excahnge rate can not be an input so we have to convert to CAD manually for every slip. Also in online version, not T5008 details list in schedule 3 for print out return. And customer support people are not knowlegable at all, they do not know the product well enough, including supervisor.

Product Is Going Downhill In Recent Years
I have used TurboTax Online for years. In my opinion, its quality is declining.
A perfect simple example: On this page where they ask us to share a review, there is a [Helpful Tips] button. It says you can contact Customer Service to send a private comment to your staff. The link provided is http://quicktax.intuit.ca/en/intuit/static_contactus.jsp and it leads to NOWHERE!
Two other examples:
1. I had to make Instalment payments last year to CRA. TurboTax asks if I made such payments and asks me to enter the amount. After reviewing the calculations I found that the entry had been doubled. After some back-and-forth on the Community, I learned that Instalments are ALSO part of the CRA Auto-Fill but there was no indication of this that I could see within TurboTax itself. A simple comment on the entry form could help. Even better, on the entry form you could show the amount that was already imported via Auto-Fill.
2. EVERY year I get a warning about 20(11) and 20(12) deductions telling me to "See help for further information". I defy anyone from TurboTax to actually go into your Online Help and find useful information about this warning. YOUR product is doing this calculation, not me, so I should not have to review any warnings about it.
I hope to see improvement next year and would be happy to provide more details to someone from TurboTax should they care enough to ask.

Two confusing things
I am a retired CFP. I found the charitable contribution section confusing. There should be more detail about why one should use over another and how the calculations are made. I know its complicated but more info would be helpful. Second piece is income splitting. Went round in circles trying to make the system do what it suggested but after a while, realized that I had to pick the person income was being "split from". A better way to do this would be to spell out what it recommends, then have a tab to say "accept" recommended split? Very frustrating because I understand what it is doing. Disappointingly not clear how to make it happen.

Had to work to get discount
When I started my return a month ago there was a discount offered on the premium version from $40 reduced to $34. When I went to file my return I was going to be charged the $40. I looked at the web site again and indeed I should have received the discounted price of $34. When I returned to my refund and entered the turbotax payment area again, the price had been discounted to the $34...pretty sneaky Turbotax...fix your web tax program to charge the customer the correct price you offered at the start.

BIG learning required
Over all requires a BIG adjustment from the PC based version. Absolutely NO opportunity to drop all of the needless questions already answered so redundant repeated rereading is frequently required. Frequently … did I say FREQUENTLY….

the best but the bar is low
Over time this software has felt more confusing each year whether that's programming or the tax changes are more complicated but I still feel like the guides and summaries are good but it is so easy to get lost with where you are in the sidebar or just within some sections. The software feels harder each year to use.

The program works fine, but it comes across as entirely a greasy sales tactic. No, I don't want to upgrade. No, I don't want "expert advice". No, I don't want "protection". I just want to file my taxes. LEAVE ME ALONE!

Ok, but pretty buggy
I have used QuickTax / TurboTax for many, many years. I find the online version of TurboTax to be pretty buggy.
This year I had a T3 slip that had a value in box 24 and as a result, TurboTax flagged that as me being self employeed. It forced me to specify the provice that my "business" resides in. I am not self employeed. That T3 was from a fund that I own. Why the heck does it make me specify that I have a business and that it resides in a particular province?
Beside this really bad bug, there are also other bugs in the workflow. I would say that just about every single section that I finish, would send me back to some point in the middle of the section and I would have to go through all the screens again. Luckily, I could just keep pressing "continue" because I had already entered the information. But this happens consistently. It makes entering taxes take a lot longer than it should.

Online Charge
I'm prompted to pay between 24 and 60 dollars per return when using Turbo Tax online. When I purchase CD or online code in store, I can do up to 8 returns and not be charged per return. Need to match the offerings. It should cost close to $100 to do 3 returns on my own online.

Trouble with new BC renters credit
For the first time ever I had trouble; and couldn't get any help, other than being told to pay for a tax advisor.
I had claimed the new BC renters' tax credit in error. I had a terrible time finding out how to delete it. The EDIT button on Provincial summary sent me back into a loop.
I was about to start two new returns and reenter everything when I tried a trick and it worked! Maybe 55 years of working with computers has taught me a few thongs.
But I wasn't impressed by turbotax this year. Sorry. Keith

Overseas Filing
There is a problem with contacting TurboTax if you do not live in Canada. There was a problem with the 2022 TurboTax program and I was not able to discuss it with TurboTax because I live in Asia. I was penalized by CRA because TurboTax 2022 made a mistake in my deductions.
