Cant resolve T1-OVP
Beware if your 2017 Notice of Assessment is inaccurate. Turbo Tax cannot correct an "Unused RRSP Contributions from Previous Years" error - very frustrating.

Schedule 3
I had to add info to a schedule 3 which showed no loss or gain..but couldn't access the schedule. Paid to upgrade, still no luck. Called the help line twice, still got nowhere.Finally I printed my return and got the schedule online from the government and added it to the file. Turbo was no help!

Foreign Income
Before using Turbotax online I found entering Foreign Investment income a simple process. All you did was enter the amount the exchange rate and the country of origin. Sadly with online this is no longer the case. Also it is not clear how one offsets capital gains in the current year with accumulated losses from previous years. two things you might like to address before the 2019 tax filings.

tax program
I prefer working my own way through the forms and being able to access any of them anytime. With this program, I had to go through all of the steps from step 1 each time I needed to add info.

Confusing. Difficult to Navigate
Difficult to find specific forms. Back button doesn't always return you to where you were. Difficult to navigate. Menus auto-collapse, making it difficult to see where you are.

TurboTax - okay
I found this to be adequate, and it is great that our previous information is loaded as we start preparing our returns. However, navigating between sections is cumbersome - one step at a time, rather than jumping to different sections. Also we prepare joint returns and run various scenarios as to who should claim what. Turbo Tax is rather cumbersome for trying different scenarios.

Nice software but not for everyone. Somehow having problems entering my RRSP information even if it is a really simple task. Maybe if I become an expert will use it again but I prefer to hire a qualified CPA for next year.

Easy and Quick
I tried the premium so i know how it works for next year. It was not clear cut to input rental income. Which i will have in 2017. So this will be my last year using it. For a simple return it is extremely easy. I just wish they would make it easier for additional income sources.

Useful, but not easy for a non-resident
Turbo Tax is easy to use -- if one is a resident of Canada or the US. For non-residents, it's another matter. There is confusion between "foreign income" that seems to be earned in Canada, and "world income" earned abroad. It is also difficult to pay for Turbo Tax using a credit card from outside the US or Canada. This needs to be fixed.

Not as good as 2015
I do not think the 2016 version was as easy to use as to 2015. I found it difficult to move between the screens. Also purchased prepayment for 2 filings. When I tried to file the second tax form, I was asked for a valid prepayment code. I was on the phone for 25 minutes before getting a second prepayment code. From the online comments this seems to be a common problem and should have been fixed much earlier and faster.

This used to be a easy product but the unused RRSP contributions and other descriptions are confusing when you are not an accountant. I think I will be going to a tax person next year

Premier not worth it
I tried Premier for the first time, lots of excessive friendly words, but not enough actual value offered. I did a substantial amount of stock trading this year so I gave it a try. I'll go back to basic next year.

sigh!
I needed to file my 2013 returns and the link to do so was broken and sent me in circles and circles until it got sorted by a technician in Chat which required that I wait around for almost 2 hours. Imagine my surprise when I got charged for Premier service when I was sure I had checked Standard because I didn't need Premier. I could have flipping saved myself two hours yesterday. And then after all that I couldn't Netfile. I've been netfiling since it was possible and there is no reason at all why I shouldn't have been able to, but I suppose that is not your problem. I was however with being directed to Plastique, which posed it's own circular linking issues and took at least 30 minutes to sort out an account. More time that I need to spend, especially when I'm charged 2%. Normally Im quite happy with TurboTax but not right now. :)

Slacking off
I feel TurboTax has slacked off with its quality control this year. Although there have always been some bugs, now errors or missing information are blatant and really should have been spotted. In particular, there are problems with the provincial return for Qc. It is unfortunate that with so many people using the software, Intuit is resting on its laurels and not investing more in spotting problems upstream. Sadly, I'm unsure if I'll be back next year.

flashy website but not as helpful as expected
Website is clean and looks relatively easy to use. When it comes to knowing what exactly to enter in certain boxes, the difference between accounting terms etc, you are on your own. The help section is very general. There are checks at the end which highlight errors, but no clear understandable instructions on how to FIX the errors - you are on your own there. Netfiling was fairly easy. Printing from Turbotax was a pain - have to PDF everything, and then it prints the entire screen.

Be Careful About Which Package You Choose
Don't start by buying the more expensive tax package because if you don't end up needing the features you can't easily revert back to a cheaper package.

Deleted profile
I completed my husband's and my return under the same profile. My return was entered second and I had to redo it at least five times. The system deleted all my information all the time. It was pretty frustrated I tell ya. Take a look at this problem and have it fixed for the future, please.

Mac User - Some Issues
I am a Mac user and this is the second year I have used Turbo Tax Online after many years of using the CD or download versions of the program on a PC. I strongly wish that a Mac version was available as a download. My return is somewhat complex and I would much prefer to work from the individual lines on the T1, as can be done with the download version, rather than using the step by step method which is the only method available with the on line versions.

Good product, but a little chincey
Turbotax is easy to use and guides the process simply. However I needed customer support a couple of times this year and feel like the customer support is getting worse. I also thought it was extremely chincey of intuit to charge for customer service if you only needed the standard version. I hope they make these improvements and take better care of their customers in the future.
