Poor Purchase
I purchased Intuit Turbotax from Staples, but when I followed the first instruction on the box, I was not directed to the activation page as expected. Instead, I was prompted to purchase the product online again.

Getting worse year by year
This is likely the last year I use TurboTax. The cost has gone through the roof since I started using it years ago ... far faster than inflation. It insisted I use the self-employed version because in a previous year I had such income, but I did not have it this year. I had to ask for help. The AI that was supposed to provide help was utterly useless and misleading. Eventually I said 'ask human' and I was able to get a person to call me. They were very nice and fixed it, but they weren't able to fix it for my one of my students. The other student was not able to Netfile for an unknown reason. The cost is crazy high for such a service (just a few years ago it was about $26, now it is $50 per return, and my return is pretty simple). I will be seeking out a better service.

Year after year it's about customer paying more
I've been using Intuit since 2007 and every year since then it's been about pushing customer to purchase support option and making it different every year hoping someone won't find them self and buy in. Keep it simple for those who will never buy in for support. It's just anoying to use Turbotax now.

getting worse
I have been using Turbo Tax for at least 8 years. In the last 2 years, but mostly this year, I feel like it is much less user friendly than it used to be with respect to foreign income etc. More clarity needs to be made here.

I needed to talk to an "Expert" regarding transferring tuition. The initial person I spoke to had no clue and had to pass me over to a manager, and he couldn't figure it out and had to investigate and email me back. His email was wrong and didn't solve anything. I called back and was provided the answer that "it is just the way it is," and I asked for a manager, and finally, he was able to fix it within 5 minutes. These experts are certainly not experts.

Clunky
Turbo Tax is clunky and not intuitive. Provincial credits are difficult to enter (especially the child activity credits) and the child care expenses get cut off after 5 lines and submitted incorrectly.

Confusing and upsells
This is my first time using Turbotax. I found the process fairly straightforward until later on when they changed where the "continue" buttons were. There were multiple buttons I had to click to complete various things before I could continue. That made things confusing. They also try to upsell you constantly, which I found very annoying. And in the end, had to upgrade because of my stocks. I really did like the ability to automatically pull information directly from CRA, but the NETFILE was confusing, or at least, how Turbotax did it was. I'm not sure I'll do this again. It was better than the paper booklets we used to have to use, but not better than having a professional do it.

Disappointed
As a long term customer, I was disappointed that the program did not handle the disability tax credit transfer consistent with the CRA rules. This resulted in a lot more work and my wife and I having to file separate returns instead of optimizing.

Online vs store bought
I've bought TurboTax CD at store locations for many many years to file. This year I thought I would try the "online" TurboTax.
WHAT A MISTAKE!!!!!
It's SO slow, it's confusing, forms are a nightmare to find, it locks you in a spot and won't let you leave til you enter fake stuff and then have to go back and delete it. It tells you there is a discount but you can't find the coupon code anywhere, so you finally give up, and accept that you have to pay fully and then it does the discount in the end anyway.
Frustrating is the key word here!
I'm going back to purchasing it elsewhere next year if the software isn't cleaned up.

Odd experience this year
I've used turbo tax for at least the last 15 years and had great confidence at the end. This year it didn't work right the first time, had to log out and log back in, then it still didn't prompt me for forms like previous years. Not a confidence inspiring experience that you want from something that's filing your tax return...

New Layout is terrible
This has been the worst interface update I've seen. I needed to go back to earlier sections, and instead of an easier to navigate Chapter layout like previous years I ended up just starting the whole thing over.

by trying to dummy proof made it unusable
I was completely disappointed with the 2024 version of Turbo Tax. By trying to dummy proof, it locked down areas where you used to be able to review. It was showing an amount in my return that I could not trace back to my inputs. it was a carry fwd amount, but there was no way for me to know that until I paid and could review the detailed return. Will definitely consider a different software for 2025

Money grab
I sold my house and had to upgrade to premier which was $100 just to say that my property was not a flip. That was literally the only question I had to answer and they charged 100 bucks.

Ripped Off
I have always used your CD version and purchase in advance. There was none this year so I paid 49.99 and bought the online version. yet I still paid an additional $50+tax to file this because the system would not accept my Licence code or whatever other reson. Very disappointed my return ended up costing me over $100 to complete and file -- all over an additional $14 earned via my small earnings on retirement savings plan via my employer

How helpful was it really🤔
Not sure why I paid 50.00 + tax? I had to call my friend who is a retired tax accountant for help to guide me through and correctly identify problems. If your return is complicated or requires assistance you will have to pay for their services. I asked for a call but never received one, yet paid 56.50(includes tax)

An average at best tax program.
Too slow. A return can be done much quicker using other tax programs.
I don't like being asked repeatedly if I want to upgrade to another program. Makes you look so desperate for additional revenues.

turbo tax online soft ware changed so you buy help
2024 online version not so friendly. probably done so you would spend money and get help from their tax experts help. Navigation is difficult unless you use exact terminology to retrieve help full information. Before you could navigate through their "help" and get the information you need.

Unnecessary Revision
Every few years, the layout, the sequence, presentation, flow make unnecessary changes when users are accustomed to the whole GUI.
This year, 2025, ended up Chaotic, Confusing, and crisscrossing all over the sections when proceeding combined filing (filing for more than 1 individual). Such a bad experience and overhaul made the whole experience Painful and untrustworthy (GUI jumps between places & user is uncertain if step has missed.)
Switching to a different Tax Filing Product in 2026. Common opinion among friends & families.

Turbo Tax 2024 poor performance
As a Turbo Tax costumer of more than 20 years I got disappointed and frustrated this year. I found this version complicated, difficult and hard to navigated through the sessions. The software used to be very good in guiding my steps, making filling my taxes easier than bringing it to an accountant. I felt confident before but not this year. I also disliked the layout and designed.

Added Payments Add Up
The program works just fine. However, for simple things that have been part of Turbo Tax in the past, you now have to upgrade. A T5 form needs an upgrade. A simple question on what is probably a problem with the program required restarting my shared return or paying another $60 per return to get it answered, which put me in a foul mood. I will probably look to do my taxes in another way next year.

I have used Turbo Tax for 11 years and always purchased the CD version because I used the forms version and functioned with the income tax return. That is no longer available so I am not sure I will continue with Turbo Tax. Also had multiple connecting problems.
