SAME PROBLEM AS LAST YEAR
I FILED JOINTLY WITH MY WIFE AND COULD NOT GET CRA TO DOWNLOAD HER INCOME NUMBERS. I WAS ABLE TO GET MINE EASILY BUT NOTHING WORKED WHEN I TRIED TO POPULATE HER NUMBERS. I HAD TO ENTER THEM FROM T FORM SLIPS.

I found this version of Turbo Tax harder to use than previous versions, I have used Turbo Tax for years to do mine and my family's taxes and found this one to be very hard to navigate between returns, I liked being able to purchase several tax returns with one payment. This version I had to make 2 purchases and had to upgrade to $40 package (x2 for my spouse so $80) BECAUSE I HAD A T3 INTHE AMOUNT OF $18.53.I thought it ridiculous I had to pay more because of an $18 T3! When I did my full time post secondary child's taxes I got a "Free!" initially, then at the end it was $15... why not just tell me it was $15 and not free? I did not find this version easy to use at all.

Very Clunky Package
Difficult to identify where some numbers have come from (eg S20(12) deduction). Requires lots of amendments to info pulled from CRA (eg Joint investments not split, whereas a 50% split could be assumed if the beneficiary code is joint, and would be correct for most people). Information that is specified as USD on T slips is not converted to CAD; this has to be done manually.

TurboTax
For such a successful company, they do not have anyone that you can speak with. AI is not cutting it with me and I am extremely unhappy about this product. I certainly will look around for a package that have someone who you can speak with rather than AI.

Not as it used to be
I have had problems with this program since I opened it up this year and I have been using it for several years at least 10 years for sure. Also this year I did tax returns for my parents with only OAS & CPP income and was charged the same as what my wife and I were charged $90 I thought it used to be $0 for a NIL return so this tax season it cost $180 ridiculous I'm going to go back to using UFILE.

Not very good, Turbo Tax forgot to include the deduction already perceived on my TRIF RL-2
on my provincial return. Ended up paying way too much to the Provincial.

hate the online experience
it was very hard to figure out how to get my info transferred i have been using turbo tax for a long time this was the most annoying time i have ever had using there program!!!!

AutoFill Issues between Turbotax and CRA. Reached out to Turbotax Community - had to solve issue myself. Received a "thanks for your feedback response, our developers are working on it." End of story. Then I had to pay for the software to file my return.

Greedy Cash Grab
Forcing me to the Premium Tier and paying more then 3 times I paid last year to simply download forms from CRA, review and file them right back to CRA, this is starting to become a cash grab rather than a needed or useful service. On top of that is the repeated attempts to up-sell you with features you don't need.
My tax situation is easy and straightforward and simply includes T4 and RRSP contributions, which are already electronically filed to CRA. I used to be able to file for free, then pay for Standard, then Deluxe, and now Premium, and I haven't changed or used any new feature.
If it wasn't for being forced to skip 8+ pages of farming/fishing losses, filing taxes could almost become a one-click process.
This product has quickly become irrelevant, and we will be looking at other tax filing software next year after more than 20 years of using an Intuit/QuickTax product, they are not providing any additional value but keep charging more for their products.

Disappointing
As an Apple / Mac user for many years, we have a reduced suite of software to choose from, especially Canadian purposed. I have used a couple of other tax platforms for at least 20 years, and tried TurboTax in 2024. People, its not as easy as some others to find and correct schedules, info, and so on. It also completely failed to show me that pension income splitting should occur. I had to hunt down that page in the help function. All in all a major disappointment

Navigation is cumbersome
Although the tax software gets you where you want to go, which is filing taxes online; the software is cumbersome and makes it difficult to correct errors or add information. The online help had issues getting to where we needed to go. The online community portal is essentially useless, the questions are not even close to being answered correctly and takes you down another path completely.

Crappy login/storage
login never worked. Had to spend days with customer service to be given work around. Instructions in box never worked. Secondly, my private data stored outside my country exempt from our privacy laws. Troubling. Used T Tax CD-rom previously, that was ok.

Deluxe vs Premier
I purchased Deluxe version. from Costco. After completing my return it said I needed Premier so I purchased a second copy. Unfortunately I could not add a second activation code without creating a new user name and redoing my taxes-- a lot of work. So I paid a third time with my credit card :( Seems like a waste of $$ paying for it 3 times.

Very bad experiece this year. The product is not intuitive or helpful. On multiple screens it looped back repetitively for no reason. Very frustrating that Netfile function was not available to me for no reason whatsoever. Will not use be using this product again.

Frustration
I have used Turbotax for many-years with no problem, this year I had so many problems with my Login, entries do not match. I knew the password I was entering was correct. Don't know if it was because I seemed to have two user id's. I tried online chat, I tried everything, I needed to speak with a real person-THERE APPEAR TO BE NO REAL PEOPLE AT TURBO TAX AND YOU HAVE no PHONE NUMBER TO CALL. I Will stop here. I am exhausted!!

Activation code did not work
Disappointed with latest experience. Bought a standard turbo tax kit from Costco to use and the activation code would not work. Had to pay another $90 to submit my taxes for my husband and I. :(

Dissapointed
For years I have been able to file for free with this program. But this year the application didn't allow me to do so. This was very disappointing, and I felt lied to by the company who notes clearly on the website that you can file for free.

You have to pay $40 for common tax slips
I have a T5 (investment income) with investment income of less than $1. For that, Turbotax told me I need to upgrade to the deluxe version that costs $20. Later, I had to add the T4PS (profit sharing from employer) of less than $100. For that, Turbotax told me I need another upgrade - now $40 a filing. There is absolutely nothing complicated about my return - just two additional tax slips where I enter the numbers in the designated box that has a number assigned to it - this is a straight forward return. I don't think I received the value I paid for. Make filing free for those types of situations.

Cumbersome
The easiest errors to make in a tax return are input errors. Unfortunately TurboTax Premier does not provide audit trails that make these easy to detect. This means that additional time is required to check each input screen and to maintain a parallel spreadsheet.. I cannot recommend this product for complex returns.

Turbotax figures out how to maximize profits
Turbo tax would not allow me to file with the Deluxe online edition because I had $300.00 in capital gains to include. I had to pay an extra $80.00 and could not use any credit for the 8 copy deluxe edition I had purchased. In other years this was never an issue.

Ripped Off
I was charged for the Premium version when my status has not changed and I was always able to use the Standard version. Moving forms form one version to another and charging me an extra $40 was a ripoff!

Good for basic taxes
Good for basic taxes, but they will charge extra for any little thing such as a T5008 slip which could merely be interest from your savings account (not worth the $40 fee). Another frustrating thing is there is no option to view each line of entry until after you file! This should be viewable before you file so that you can make sure everything is correct.

Watch for Add On Pricing
The Price Started off at zero and then climbed to $90.00 as I added RRSP's and Donations.
They could have told me the price upfront when they asked me all my information, but instead made me enter everything and go through all the steps then they upgraded me twice.
