Forced me to upgrade to premiere
I made a single political donation and that bumped me up to use the premier version. Had to pay double. Not impressed.

Higher cost for same functionality & lower quality
Every year, it seems more issues come up with Turbotax:
- First you are making me upgrade to Turbotax Premier for T3 and Foreign slips when you did not do so before (I have the receipts to prove it; I was having the same functionality under Standard).
- At the "Did you have expenses related to your employment?", your description/explanation of employment expenses is from before 2020 because it does not even mention the situation in 2020-2021 of working-from-home and the flat rate method. It says that the employment expenses will NOT apply for most people but because of covid it DOES (at least for white-collar people). You have the "Covid-19 impacts for 2021" explanation at a much later screen, leading to confusion.
This product has not been tested enough with its connectivity to MyCRA:
- At the Auto-fill my return, you mentioned a T3 for my spouse but that's for me, not her. She does not have a T3 in MyCRA.
- When connecting to MyCRA for my spouse, you keep being signed on as me, so it errors out.
I was able to sign out manually from MyCRA, but every time I retry, the MyCRA website errors right away with a timeout error, even if I wait a few minutes between attempts. So now I have to enter all her info manually.
Under medical expenses, you show that 3% of my income and 3% of spouse's income as the same number but we do not have the same income.
The quality of the product has been going downhill.
It's as if the product is confusing and buggy on purpose to cause uncertainty in the return and worry/fear and upsell services like audit defense and tax return human review at every turn, preying on that uncertainty.
On the bright side that stupid error about some film property (Line 22100) or other deductions (Line 23200) I had for 2 years is gone once I re-did my return from scratch this year.

Not the same
Because I sold a photograph for 1200 US and had foreign income, I had to upgrade for this single line item. So did my spouse as we filed together. Not the same platform it used to be and getting more and more expensive. So many FREE platforms out there and no longer worth it.

offers everything, then asks for upgrade
Give you all of the services. them makes you upgrade to premium at the end of you have anything more then a T4 to file. Pathetic

Impossible to Edit
It is very difficult to go back and change anything at all. You are force to wade through a mire of "Continue" buttons and are even given a warning that unchecking boxes won't update date. You have to find it and delete it to do that. I couldn't file my wife's return because TurboTax filed from T1139 for her and it is causing a conflict. I cannot go to the specified lines to make changes. Very clunky.

Last minute upgrade push is irritating
Turbotax seems to have graduated to a "lets push a bunch of unnecessary add-ons" service from what used to be a simple tax filing service

Online Premium Lacking
The online Premium version has far less functionality than the basic desktop version. Help and answers are very difficult to obtain within the program and the answers in the help pop-ups are primarily geared towards US users - not very useful to Canadians

Online Not Good Compared to Desktop Version
First time using the online version and was not impressed. It is definitely a dumbed down version of the desktop version. I miss being able to view the forms by form number and it just didn't feel like a smooth experience in navigating compared to desktop.

Greedy pricing scheme
I am retired and 72; just because I had small foreign income, I was forced to upgrade to Premium, which was not the case in previous years. I have 0 return on my taxes but pay $30 to Turbotax... Come on, is this really necessary...?

several errors resulting in filing delay
unknown errors locked me out of my return for nearly a month. rep told me to start all over. i explained i had several rental incomes and deductions and this was quite a task. said this was all we could do due to the error. tried again a month later being prepared to start all over and it was unlocked, clearly they fixed "their" error. had another error shortly after filing and saving my return. note told me to start all over again!!! oh well... its filed. will look for another tax program for 2021!

Not a big fan
I keep coming back to TurboTax because I've used it for years. But it gets more frustrating every year--there is klunkiness throughout and it is hard to get out of some things, like medical receipts. Insult to injury this year was me seeing that you get 15% off, but it charged me full price at checkout--no "automatic discount" appeared. Maybe it is finally time I looked elsewhere.

Used To be easier to use
Have been using TurboTax for years, found I had many more issues this year. TurboTax automatically entered something (I know I didn't enter it) that prevented me from filing one of our 2 returns. The automatic fix didn;t work and the customer service rep had no idea of what to do. So now I have to print and mail it and am having a devil of a time getting it to print. And those were only the last of the problems I had this year.

Wasted my money and time. Would not allow submission because it didn't recognize income in box 105 of T4A as taxed income (which was also on box T4A). Had to redo the whole return on H & R block for free. H & R block worked fine.

Every year never fails to disappoint
Am I a total coward to stick with the devil I know instead of risking even bigger headaches with a competitor's product? Maybe I have Stockholm syndrome. This year wouldnt allow me to claim 2018 medical expenses for adult dependant and required me to call the help desk to avoid being double-charged for the same return

Bad workflow
Offering options to purchase is fine, but don't lock me into a feature I can't turn off if I didn't use it during the workflow. You have a option for a person review your refund, I selected it thinking I might use it if I need it, but I didn't need it. I could only continue if I paid for it, there was no way to disable without deleting and restarting. I called support who told me I had no option to revert it to the simple option. This is a horrible user experience, the only option I had was to redo my taxes entirely???. This took me already an hour. Terrible UI design.

I found this online version very difficult to work with compared to downloading from a CD. Hopefully things will improve when using a Mac to complete tax returns.

Not too easy for seniors
I still can't get my copy of last years files and I still have not been able to print my return and I can not wait for help on the phone for 1 hour and 20 minutes It could be a great program but when you explore a question it does not let you go back. On the plus side I was happy to use the import with cra.

Frustrating product to use
The online version has an unadvertized 30 item CRA download limit. The product would constantly crash when down loading the CRA slips. The problem was too hard for that answer exchange business. However once I finally found a number to call, he diagnosed the problem (but there was no work around except entering it all manually.
I wasn't expecting ads in a paid for product. And you have to see them again if you go back.
The help with the cryptic messages was rather poor.

Turbo Tax has not developed a downloadable product for Macs, forcing Mac users to pay a premium to use the on-line version.
As a result of this, I do not use other Intuit products.

Online TurboTax needs improvement
The Online version was much less user-friendly than the Download version. Navigating through the various sections was not as easy. The HELP function was very UN-helpful. And to get all the way to the point of filing the return and having to re-enter the prepayment code was a surprise and meant scrambling to find a months old email...which I could not find. As it turns out, the telephone help system worked great to get my code emailed out again.
