Do not use
Offered a free service. We went all the way through, about to file. Charged us not only once but twice and we couldn't go back to change anything. Had to choice but to pay and go after them for a refund which has been a challenge. DO NOT USE.

Double Charged for Premier
I did taxes for me and my mom I needed premier mom does not charged for both of them and they wont give me a refund or credit. Given how every year I have only ever paid for one premier and mom's taxes was always free it irritates me that they wont refund me they said it is too late because it was filed I call bs on that. What a joke wont be using them ever again.

slippery
Offers a free service.
Immediately sets you up for a $50 or $60 fee then traps you with another upgrade, we ended up being charged $100 for a extremely basic return, which we will be refuting. An extremely noticeable decline in quality this year after having used it for the past 4 or 5 years. Will not be a returning customer and will expressing this all over social media.

Poor Product
Every year for 5 or 6 years TurboTax has been getting more difficult to use. One Star is to high of a rating This year was the worst have no confidence in the product. They are trying to drive you to pay for all options. I will be using UFILE next year

Import not helpful
The import of my previous info did not work properly and I was left to fill in the date for several hundred transactions. The online help did not help, and the number to call for help had me waiting for more than 2 hours.

way too expensive
It's beyond me how an 18 year old who is a student and has no income has to pay $50 plus taxes to file her taxes.

Blind spot
The tax filing software completely neglects taxpayers who have to file their tax returns on paper. Impossible to find a copy that can be sent by post. All copies of the tax return are watermarked on every page with "DUPLICATE, DO NOT MAIL" in large lettering, making the document inappropriate for anyone who is required to file a hard copy of their tax return.

i hate the new navigation approach. it was much easier in past to have the end to end navigation menu on left navigation bar, now you can't move back forth as easily nor find other sections . it is a huge step backward . and showing the 'progress' on left what's next, on the right 'what done' going from bottom to the top, is nonsensical, and the layout and real estate used on every page to answer question is wasteful. it is a shame.

Worse than before
Why did the change the format? This one is very poor, as the individual page summary are not accessible thru the window pane on the left side, its empty and virtually useless. I prefer accessing individual entry pages directly from the left side window pane. Also the data entry screen on the Tslips doesnt work. When you click Enter the next T slip it refreshes to the Tslip you just entered and you have to do click done with Tslips button to exit and reload to enter a new Tslip. I was happy with last years version of the software. I don't see the changes as an upgrade. I am quite disappointed with the software. I will need to consider using a different software next year.

Got worse over the years
I really liked this product but it hasn't been maintained. Poor experience.
I hate the constant upselling.
I hate that if you select a higher product offering, you are not allowed to downgrade but rather have to start over.
Documentation on RRSP unused contribution room is POOR and confusing.

Download of T5s a failure
Ended up entering many T5 slips. CRA indeicated they were there, but Inutit would not download; tried 3 times on my own and then with Intuit on call person who tried with another 3 times (use different browser, clear cache etc). They gave up and suggested I enter them myself.

no refund
I purchased the Premier edition at a retail store in February. I opened it to do my taxes at the end of April. Apparently, that was the wrong think to do because I have a Mac computer. to keep continuity with my pass data, I had to start over again. I applied for a refund but was denied. I ended up with two purchases. one from a retail outlet and one online. Disappointed I could not get any understanding from turbotax.

Horrible Experience
I have used Turbo tax for many years, this time, it kept mixing up information between my partner and I and would be different everytime I logged in. THen when I went to submit, it gave me so many issues in netfiling where Turbo tax did not speak to netfile. I would rather pay an accountant and take the stress off from dealing with this garbage program.

Where to begin
First off, the wizard brings me through the process and doesn't ever ask me for my spouse info until it starts showing errors. in previous years the wizard went through both people in a logical fashion. add onto this that the main reason to use this service is the auto-import of cra data but that was all messed up this year, so i had to enter everything manually anyways (not tt fault but still annoying). And finally, I bought the boxed product from Costco to fill out for my spouse and I. Turns out that one of my investments is not Canadian, so I need to upgrade from Deluxe to Premier. Do you think TT gives a credit for my existing purchase. no way. Pay twice instead. We're going to rob you twice!!

disappointed
I've been using this service for over 10 years and have always found it user friendly. This version was not. It didn't save some information from prior year and was difficult to navigate. I dont believe I took advantage of all tax credits/benefits. For the time and cost, I will likely go to an Accountant next year. Negative press in the news doesn't help with confidence either. It's not as reliable as it used to be.

This year the program was terrible!
I had a lot of errors which could not be fixed and hence I could not EFILE.
I also had to delete a lot of the files imported from CRA.
Terrible value since I paid the most comprehensive option.

TurboTaxSucks
Absolutely horrible software. Support is terrible. I keep getting errors that I have errors on my T5008 form, missing date of sale. I trade a ton, had to manually enter the date of like 350 entries which is slow to update because of the software. Apparently I missed one of the several hundred but the software doesn't tell me which transaction is missing a date for. I have gone through them for another several hours but can't find it. Support sucks. Waste of time. So frustrating. Waste of money.

buggy software
had to redo tax filing only because TurboTax would not allow me to delete a topic I accidentally created. On top of that, I have to pay to use this service. Other tax filing services are free so I will be using one of those from next year onwards

Worst Purchase Ever
Previously filed using this service.
This year inundated with daily emails to purchase in January 2025 for 2024 taxes. Finally relented and purchased.
Go to do my taxes and it won't allow me to file my taxes till I purchase the software again. Call Intuit. On line with a person for almost 1 hours. Finally told the only thing I can do is pay again for the product and then ask for a rebate... which may take months.
NOT HAPPY.

Very disappointed
The changes to the system make it far less user friendly. Previously it would go back and forth between the couple filing...now you are left guessing or manually switching. I received a link to get 40% off this year...they have jacked up prices but more over to even get the discount I sent an hour and a half on the phone only to be told to pay the higher amount and it will be refunded to me later(???). I will not be returning next year. I have been filing with turbotax for 10years but this was an absolute disaster!

Hard to use this year
I have used Turbo Tax for many years. This year the website has changed a lot and was much harder to navigate. It would have helped if Turbo Tax informed users at the beginning of these changes and how to navigate the new system. Also I could not find how to go back to previous sections. The website also often directed me to click on navigation tools that were not there. I had to call for live help, the line was crackly and the person had a strong accent and was hard to understand.
