No access to schedules
The inability to check schedules such as capital gains and losses S3-SUPP is appalling. You should not have to wait until you have filed to ensure that your input of data is correct. By then it is too late.

Worst Purchase Ever
I have used the basic Turbo Tax online for many years with no issues. This year we purchased the Premier Online Edition because we sold a rental property. This edition was EXPENSIVE and USELESS. I sent my taxes out to a tax company because I was unable to complete a loss on the sale of a rental property. I also used it for 2 other returns. It would have been faster to manually complete the other 2 returns. I had nothing but problems. When I carried over my deceased son's information to complete his final return, it did not carry over the deceased information or allow me to add it. I had to start all over. FRUSTRATING. I never had these issues when I completed the 2022 and 2023 tax returns for my deceased parents. It carried over the prior years information and still provided the deceased question. I completely wasted my money on Turbo Tax this year. The help chat was useless other than connecting me to a real person. Nicolas from your help centre was awesome. He was the only good thing with this version of Turbo Tax. I will not recommend Turbo Tax and after years of using it, I am reconsidering what product I will use next year.

Too many upsells, a worse interface than last year
I've used TurboTax ever since 2012 and this is probably the least fun I've had filing taxes. The constant upsell attempts are really demoralizing, and the UI (while interesting at first glance) was a lot harder to use than the previous step-by-step version, especially when filing for a 2-person household. Next year I think is finally the time for me to try a competing product. The CRA should have introduced a direct file program a decade ago instead of relying on external tax software companies.

Consistently underwhelming, frustrating, bad.
With Turbotax, I always go in thinking its going to be quick and easy, but there's always something stupid that comes up at the last minute that TurboTax can't handle, which makes my taxes a nightmare. I wish they would warn you ahead of time. In the US it was form 8621 (which TurboTax can't do) and in Canada I was informed last minute I would have to mail my return. What use is a netfile provider if you can't netfile? They aren't even checking the latest tax guidance. I know more about tax law than their so-called Experts

Confusing
I was only offered Premier edition because I had to use it last year. It was the only option offered when I opened Turbo tax. I did not realize that I could not use the activation code that I purchased from Costco. I was forced to pay $100 for two simple returns.

15 Year Customer but........
Issue #1 Screen froze and expert could not fix, I waited five days for the fix.
Issue #2 Chose Self Employment instead of Employment Expenses, expert could not undo and I had to delete and start the return over.
Issue #3 The new 'Add' menu is poorly designed.
Issue #4 The RRSP 'sample' picture does not look like that any more-change it.
Issue #5 Stop the 'Locked out' 'Upgrade' 'Expert Advice' advertising.

Disappointing!!!
Why did you change it from all of the other years. It used to be so easy to use. Very hard to navigate. It sucks! Hard to open certain windows and add or find forms. At the beginning it had me down as self-employed. I could not figure out how to get rid of it so I had to start a new return. Frustrating!!!

Cost more than you get in refund
In the era of AI it should be driving costs down like vanguard does on fees, instead cost get higher so they can lobby governments from making filing easier and lest costly. Feeling ripped off.

Only tells you that you can't NETFILE after paying
Felt it is a dishonest process. Will only tell you that you can't NETFILE after you have paid the 50CAD per return.
It would be more transparent if you could check the NETFILE situation ahead of time, that's worth 80% of the value of using this software.

not intuitive as it was used to be
I have used Turbotax for many years and also have recommended to others, but this years there were changes made to the software that have made the tax filing frustrating. It is not intuitive to follow and not easy to go back to review each category. Will think to switch to other software next year.

Had enough. Switching out
After +10 years to turbotax I reached a point that I can't deal with; "boxed" interview prep., can't find forms very easily.,always pushing me to upgrade for more expensive options. And your price keep going up while the product value is going down.
I'm a CPA and I just had enough of this b/s crappy US program.
Gonna find a Canadian owned software company made for Canadian without US head office revenue push.

charges for spouse filing
I dont understand why i should be paying the same as my husband no matter the components to my tax filing.
as per my taxes, i should be paying deluxe but was forcecefully made to pay premier as my husband. The discounts from the banks also did not work. Its a complete rip off. its my 3rd and last time here.

Worse every year
It continues to get worse and worse every year, yet somehow the price continues to rise. It was barely able to auto-complete any forms, it was constantly bugging out losing my progress, and the UI and navigation changes constantly make me have to re-learn how to use it. Awful experience. I'll be looking at other options next year.

Be careful of which version you buy
TurboTax has made the experience worse with all the different versions and upcharges. Be careful of which one you get, cause the return procedure is very complicated. Plus the online and desktop versions do not migrate between each other. I have been using TurboTax for over 30 years, but this is my last year.

New Interface and T3 Form Issues
They changed the interface this year and we were used to/preferred the older interface. Not easy to navigate. Majority of the time did not know who's return we were working on (spouse or myself). The TurboTax community and myself ran into major issues and errors while trying to enter in our T3 information. The boxes it wanted us to fill were no longer recognized by the CRA but Turbotax had not updated their software to reflect that. Very frustrating experience. We loved using this software in the past and this has been the worst filing year we have ever had. Unless something drastic changes we will be looking into different software for next Tax Season.

I have used Turbo Tax year over year from the start and had no problems. This year was a nightmare with major problems and error messages. No support for loyal customers. I had to pay turbo tax for for 4 returns and even paid to upgrade with hopes it would fix my problems. Ending up paying to mail forms to Revenue Canada. This may be my last year of using your product. I would like my money refunded for this year. Just contact me for amount, you have all my information.

Downhill
Turbo Tax has gone down hill. Convoluted, difficult, exasperating loading process. Persistent annoying upselling.
Instead of offering/exhibiting tax form items client has to search and search words have to be very specific e.g. Digital Media Tax Credit amongst many others.
Will not purchase this product again. Will go back to using $250 tax accoutant.

Ex-User after 10+ yrs
Do not get the downloaded version if you used online. You cannot carryforward your info and then if over 60 days old they will not refund. Deluxe is no longer really deluxe since it only handles very basic returns.

Had to pay twice!
Bought the deluxe package in store as what I've always used in the past. This year, turbo tax decides that I need to use premier version, although no different tax information. Fine if that's the case, but then made me pay for premier completely, and now I have a deluxe license for 8 returns that I can't use or transfer! And if you make a mistake by upgrading the product, it says there is no way to undo it other than restarting the whole return from scratch??
Interface seems to be getting worse each year. There used to be an easy way to jump between forms, now you can't do that. Less information about how to data entered is actually used in forms.

Terrible waste of time and price gouging
I had previously done tax returns by first purchasing access code at Costco. I logged back in an started this year's tax importing last year's info - it started prompting me I needed more expensive versions - then only counted for only one tax return (I had 4 family members to complete) I bought the code from Costco - then it refused to submit tax return without paying an additional $20.00. Wasted 55 minutes on phone with customer service - just to conclude I would have to restart ALL my tax returns as I was forced initially to select a version (Premier"with review") - which would be charged for EACH person - even though I had purchased licence to complete 12 returns from Costco. Never ever again. Gouging and confusing -

Home flip Forced Upgrade
I sold my principal residence in 2024 after residing there for 9 years. Turbo tax forced me to upgrade to the premium service (double the charge) due to requiring access to the home flip module. I did not require this as I had resided in that home for more than a year. Issue had been raised on forums for quite a while but clearly turbo tax new that if they didnt fix it folks would be forced to upgrade simply to complete their returns. Dissapointing - ill be looking for a new service starting with 2025 taxes

Purchased Deluxe but forced to pay for Premium
I purchased the Deluxe Online Edition at a retailer, but was forced to purchase Premium once I started my return online supposedly based upon my submission needs. I was unable to get credit for my purchase value for the Deluxe Online Edition. I got ripped off!!!
