TurboTax online Premier
The TurboTax online Premier for $40.00. This would be the only level I would suggest if you have capital gains. Don’t pay the extra money for the assist. I did that last year and paid top price for nothing. They had no knowledge on the new rules when selling Principle residence and how the new capital gains taxes could apply or not apply. She didn’t ask another member just said she didn’t know and suggested what she thought sounded correct. Would have paid a fortune had I listened. Now I pay the minimum amount and ask Revenue Canada, the knowledgeable person.
No value if staff aren’t knowledgeable.
Also when using the program they keep suggesting paying a higher price for extra help. So not good

Disappointed with this year's changes
I have purchased TurboTax Standard (CD version) for about 10 years, which has been very user-friendly. This year, there was no CD version available, so I just purchased the Deluxe Online Edition in store. It did not meet my fairly basic needs. I needed to pay an additional $40 to upgrade to the Premier version to input investment income that is not on a T5 slip. Wasted my money buying the Deluxe version, as it won't be usable. I imagine I will have to pay another time to submit 1 more tax return for a family member. I thought that the Deluxe version would have had everything I needed and more compared to the Standard version. Will likely look into a different, better program for next year.

Turbo Tax
I will never use turbo tax again. I Want a copy I can install on my comper like years 2023 and going back. Using turbo tax on line not inturested. I do not want any personal info expecially my taxes with address and my sin # stored on turbo taxt veb site for 7 years. I want my info deleted.

Fees go up - never down
Program always suggests that you upgrade but once data entered you can’t downgrade. Special pricing offer sent to me after I already filed. My cost $40 per return- special price offered $26. Feel ripped off!

2025 version is bad
This new version is really bad, you can't go from one page to another, it closes each section and you have to use a paper to mark down all sections that you didnt do yet, many boxes are checked by default and can't be unchecked for example "income from investment"... anyway I am very disappointed. Next year will not use this software.

Worst purchase ever
This tax return experience has been almost the most stressful experience of my life. I couldn’t access Revenue Canada because we couldn’t find last year’s documents. TurboTax was just as bad. We lost or couldn’t find the data already entered, went back and forth again and again. We contacted the CRA for assistance and TurboTax customer support for help and in both cases ended the conversations in tears & had to hang up. We got all the wonderful information but no help to get through each step. We were forced to pay for these inadequate ‘services’ a total of three times to continue entering our information for a total of over $230.00 for which I am requesting reimbursement. I do believe our over 66 pages of documents has finally been submitted to our government. It has been a frustrating and exhausting 4 months of emotional stress. Please work on making your program simpler and easier for the average poor pensioners with limited online experience.

Try Anything Else
The user experience and general usability of TurboTax is poor.
Given the complex nature of filing taxes it takes real effort to increase the complexity with a software product tha people pay for.
Do yourself a favour and track your financials in an online spreadsheet and fill out the PDF forms instead of this hot garbage.

Worst Ever--Do Not Use
TurboTax completed messed up my 2023 tax return by attaching 2 copies of one form and 3 copies of another. The multiple copies show different numbers.

upset
I did my taxes and had Turbo tax send them out on before the end of April. On May 24 I got an email from Turbo tax saying that my taxes had been sent. Checked Revenue Canada and they weren't there. Just checked again on Jun 26 and they still haven't received them. I'd like to know where the heck they are. I have a receipt showing I paid for it before the end of April so it was complete.

I found this year's Turbo Tax very frustrating! This year's form would not allow just the spouse's net income. For some reason, it wanted to do both of the couple's tax forms together when that was different from our intention. I ended up leaving Turbo Tax and going to a different tax form.

worst purchase ever for return 2023
for years I used Turbotax with no problems. For the 2023 tax return Turbotax was a nightmare, costs me a lot of time and about $242. In January 2024 I purchased a disk for $40 and started the tax return. Due to a computer non- function I lost all the information. In March 2024 I purchased another disk for $40 however I was unable to download the disk and called Intuit for help. "Just answer" was unable to help and charged me $72. The order TTDNA212961242 purchased on Jan 24 for $50 was useless. I purchased TTWNA213066230 Turbo tax premier online for $45 and I was finally able to enter all the information. One return was sent via Netfile and accepted but for a second return (representing a client) the system gave me the message "unable to netfile" and I had to mail the return to CRA which caused a delay for over a month to be accepted by CRA. Due to this experience It is unlikely I will use Intuit again in the future or would not recommend that system to anyone!

Best bang for the $
Turbo Tax has saved me hundreds of dollars on accounting fees over the past few years. It's user friendly and quick to complete. I highly recommend this method of tax filing!

Difficult to Use for Couple Filing Together
My spouse and I both used TurboTax for several years before we married last year. This year, we prepared our returns together for the first time. We could not import our data for both spouses even though it was available in our individual accounts. We tried to troubleshoot several times before phoning TurboTax tech support. We had to enter one spouse's tax data manually. It was both cumbersome and time-consuming. The process was not intuitive or easy to use.

This didn’t work this year
My refund was supposed to be over $2000 and this year I received under $300. First year I did not get my full amount.

Expensive, Untrustworthy
The service is convenient, but the compliments stop there. It feels more expensive than I think it’s worth, and I feel like there was money left on the table. I don’t think it did everything it could to maximize my return, yet I’m hesitant to spend more for a higher tier of service because it already feels like poor value.

I missed several income entries
Fortunately Revenue Canada have all my income records at their disposal and filled in the missing data. I would have liked to have been able to print the blank return first instead of answering little 3 point sections. The review at the end was not helpful. After I printed what I thought was a complete return and hit submit, I read it over again and realized what was missing.
I am divorced since 1982 but can't seem to get Revenue Canada to accept that correction because a previous accountant entered me as single several years ago.

2023 version horrible
I know how to file in QC I had specific questions, impossible to get answers from s call center in India, they’ve never seen a T1, don’t know what it is, what a T4 is…
They are there only to sell us another version for more $Could not tell me how to see my T1 before the end, could not tell me how to override amounts that are different in QC vs Fed. Could not tell me how to enter accrued int. on bonds already declared last year I have been using this software for the last 10 years, I could not believe how horrible it was now to use Finally I had to pay another $45 to file, which never happened to me before!

Worst tax app
I found Turbo Tax cumbersome and unnecessarily self-promoting. Also made me upgrsde to a more expensive version. I got the return prepped and made the mistake of paying before trying to file, as in paying CRA plus Turbo.
It could not be filed as your app decided I was self-employed and had a place of business. Fact: I am retired and on pension and I do NOT have a business. I went through every detail 10-12 times so I could file on time. Did not work.
Found another service, straightforward, easy. Filed on time and even got a refund from CRA.
I sent in a request for refund. Received a cheeky reply saying No, it was my fault, and closed my file. Refund denied.
I do not recommend this app. Have used others but will never use Turbo again. Will not see my $50 again either.

there was an error of the system with and after hours talking to support service I had to go somewhere else to do my taxes because never got a solution to fill not loosing my money with tha error.

Stay far away
They refused to reimburse me when I saw my mom was entitled to a discount after I filed her return. Their software had glitches and did not permit me to complete my own return. They did not answer my letter.

MONEY GRAB CON!
In 2023, after using this product for nearly a decade to submit annual tax returns, in 2023, I was literally FORCED to upgrade to the “premium” version of the software or I couldn’t use the product as I always do. It cost THREE times what the basic price usually is. It’s OUTRAGEOUS and criminal to do that to unsuspecting, LONG TIME and loyal customers, who didn’t have time or a back up plan because this was never something that they expected a “reputable” company to do to a customer. NEVER using this method again going forward. It also miscalculates the amount literally every single year and has yet to be accurate when showing me how much I owe to the Government annually.

When I finished my taxes and my wife's, turbo tax informed us that the two taxes were done together. Stating the amount that we would get back. Revenue Canada did not agree, and we ended up paying a late fee because the taxes we're not tied together as your software head indicated. I get back my taxes and my wife ended up having to pay with a penalty! TurboTax showed my refund and her amount owing we're tied together! Not pleased.

Errors—multiple
I have used Turbo Tax in each of three consecutive years to file with CRA and all went well.
The “basic” plan ($40) was not as useful even though I have a very basic return. CRA reported three errors and I had to re-file.
Next year will involve a RIF, so I shall investigate other tax software to ensure improved level of accuracy. Çiao Turbo Tax.

Extremely poor value
Turbotax is the biggest racket ever! I was forced to pay for the premium service because I had $0.17 in investment income. $50 for automatic calculations is criminal. They offer no promises it's even right for that $50. You have to buy an upgrade to have them defend you if their software made a mistake. I can go on and on, but I suspect they'll just delete this review anyways.
