Had to buy 2 versions
Your online version did not allow me to use T4, etc slips imported from CRA. (Perhaps because I had more than 500 T5008 slips.) So I also purchased and used the download version.

keeping up to date
I use previous years' returns as a model for the current return. LINE numbers change or disappear! Please have an index with the line numbers and their purpose. It would be helpful for key words.
PLEASE KEEP THE PRICES DOWN! I will be forced to just do the FREE versions online. As we age, there is less complicated information.

I am happy with the program and have used it for many years. My biggest beef is the unnecessary printing of meaningless pages. Every year I ask the printer not to print blank or useless pages, and every year they are printed.

Can be better
The new user need some time to get used with the software... Very frustrating when launch software after install since during last year data import the file system points to ADMIN account required during install. No warning about this making it frustrating to get access to last year files. Sometimes suggestions are made by the software without links that would allow to change fields without frustrating searches of forms in HELP menu. Medical expenses suggestion to carry forward expenses is incomplete & confusing. Found other instances when help info is not forthcoming with detailed explanations and direct links to change things in the right place...

NO LIVE ASSISTANCE
Overall the product is okay however, when I need help, I want to speak to a live agent and not an AI chat line. If I’m calling for help that means the AI did not solve my problem. I highly recommend you place a “HELP” phone number on the TurboTax retail box. Not having a live agent phone number on the retail box next year may deter me from ever purchasing your product again.

Download version not Online
We accidentally bought the online version and it's terrible. Can't do the form entry or even review the forms. The Download version is excellent but we had to pay twice.

Great
Easy to use if a little pricey - used to be able to use the lower catagory to complete as I have Employee Shares to report but now have to get the Premier version which is the second most costliest. Altogether it is a good purchase and very easy to work with

I've used turbo tax for many years and do all our family's taxes. I've never found it hard to work with. It was always very user friendly and even got easier as the years went by. I'm doing new home ownership, rental income, and deductions for the rental property. I'm getting a little frustrated because it's not as easy to navigate but it might be because this is new this year. We'll wait and see how it goes. I've got a couple more to do so I've set that one aside for now, lol...

Yes, all the correct math works and yes there are places for all $'s to be entered.
BUT, why are the form so cumbersome to navigate through? Why is the sizing so armature in design. Just a terrible presentation of forms!

Premier did not serve me better than the standard
In the past I was happy with TT standard. This time I upgraded to Premier hoping for improved investment filing. However, for my situation I did not see any advantage compared to the standard version. Overall Premier served me as well as Standard. Standard helps to get the job done and in the future I will use the standard version again.

The product is very user friendly and easy to navigate through. You can use it if you are new to tax preparation or even if you a more experienced tax preparer. It is easy to import your prior years' returns and I would highly recommend it to both friends and also to people that I don't know.

Turbo Premier
I only do myself and my spouses tax returns and I do not a version that does 12 people..
I would prefer a two people version of Premier ay a much lower cost,
Remember, the governments do not allow us to deduct this cost. We are seniors in our 80's.

Disappointed!
When bank transactions are recorded as T5008s they should default to Capital Gains.
This results in non-CRA acceptable errors which must be rectified before acceptance with Netfile. I write many covered calls and rectification can be quite annoying.

Problem with efile
I am overall happy with the software. The only problem I have with it is that certain overrides of automatic calculations lead to disallowing efile. My problem relates to claiming Attendant Care expenses as medical expenses. Under certain situations the disability amount cannot be claimed when claiming those actual expenses. With an override of this, a paper return has to be filed, together with all pertinent slips and receipts, and a potential delay in receiving a tax refund. An option to allow deselection of the disability amount would be nice.

Turbo Tax Premier Desktop
I was told that the Desktop version is not as user friendly as working with the online version. Also some input I had from various reviewers was different so it impacted my level of confidence. I really appreciate all of the immediate support that is provided though. It is a fabulous feature of using this product!

Disappointed!
I've used Turbotax for many years; however, I continue to be disappointed in its handling of T5008 errors re. I invariably have to designate downloaded transactions as Capital Gains. This should be the default. Fixing these errors is painful and unnecessary. I've complained in past years!

Easy to use
Turbo Tax works well for my types of income and fees. Carries prior year information and balances forward and does a reasonably good review of potential issues with your return before you file.. I find it easy to use and enter the information I need to report. It also gives me additional returns so really adds value.
