CRA information
When I accessed 'my account' on CRA the RIF information did not show completely (hidden in column 2 & 3 etc) and the visible "total" did not include the hidden amounts.
I entered the full information for myself and then discovered the hidden columns while completing me wife's return.
The visible total box should include all the amounts shown and hidden. I presume some of my RIF amounts may have been missing but I could not check after exiting the link.

Turbo Tax Individual Software
Reasonably user friendly. Would like to see CRA help a bit easier to use. Need to use almost exact CRA wording or nothing comes up. But overall User friendly for us non-techies.

T Forms
Total confusion in respect of entering T forms when my investments and bank accounts are in both my name and that of my wife. Last year I was told to enter T3 and T5 in both my form and my wife's form indicating 50% each.
This year I was directed only to enter information on my form and indicate 50%, nothing to be entered on wife's T forms pages. Clearing this up would help a lot.
Secondly downloading from CRA and also entering forms via postal service was difficult to fathom out. Thank you

THIS PROGRAM HAS BECOME VERY CUMBERSOME SINCE i FIRST STARTED USING IT IN THE EARLY 2000S. THE PROBLEM IS ERRORS PERSIST AND ONE HAS TO LEARN HOW TO AVOID THEM. FOR EXAMPLE FOR ELIGIBILE DIVIDENDS IF ONE FILLS IN BOX 24 AND 25, THE PROGRAM DOBLE COUNTS THE DIVIDENDS. IT SHOULD NOT HAPPEN

Easy to use
Been a return user of this product for years. Easy to use. Know that you can do taxes online for free but you usually get what you pay for. So I would rather pay a little to get my taxes done right the first time. Never had a problem using Turbo Tax. will use again next year.

T5008 problems
T5008s are not handled correctly or the on line guidance/error message is incorrect and the Product Specialist could not answer my question about the cause.
Also the optimizers do not directly generate the optimum result in a single pass.

Needs one more feature
The most time consuming part of my tax return preparation is entering the info of capital gains from investment income. The T5008 slips from the institutions leave much to be desired and there doesn't seem to be a way to enter this information automatically..

Good, but watch out for glitches
Great program, but there are TONS of glitches to be aware of. Eg1 - eligibility to netfile due to a bug, Needed to manually edit personal info. Eg2 - T1135 - impossible to answer NO - takes NO as a non-answer. Eg.3 Advice asks you to change something, but shouldn't TT take you to where the change is needed?
So a bit of a minefield for complicated taxes, but ultimately a time saver.

Good -but be prepared for the work
I like TurboTax and the previous version. I have been using this system for I think 20+ years now. I have to admit it seemed easier to use in the past, but that may be because the tax code has also become more complex. I am not sure there are easy ways to do taxes - and maybe there should be!

be careful when you download from CRA
This year I did the CRA download because i had 250 T5008s and couldn't face trying to enter them. Doing the download was relatively simple and while annoying to have to change the income % share 250 times, I did know that I had to do it to get a proper result. What I didn't know and found out after wasting a day of my time and 1 hour of your helpdesk's time was that if you don't click the capital gains/investment box 250 times the information goes nowhere, Two suggestions from me, first it would be helpful to set entries like % share and capital gains for all T5008 slips with 1 keystroke (with the ability to revise a certain number of them if necessary) rather than having to do it for all, second you must emphasize when doing CRA downloads which boxes must be entered to make your programming work.

Capital Gains
There is a lack of clarity when completing the Capital Gains section on whether individual entries are for both spouses together or split by each spouses tax return (mine is a 50:50 split). Details of the residence are automatically entered on both returns but not the Capital Gains info.

Missed box/option to transfer 2021 data because it was a bottom of 1st page and i didn't scroll far enough; perhaps make it more prominent.
Find donation and medical expenses optimizers not-understandable and therefore rather useless.
would like to be able to print screen pages sometimes, but TT doesn't allow that.

first time fun
This was a great experience I was happy to get my taxes done myself for first time as friend showed me this and it was not very hard at all and the cost was a bit more than expected and was harder to install as needed to download new version after was emailed to me but overall is good experience

Couple Issues
The Manitoba Provincial Tax document that controls the senior discount for school taxes does not work properly. Line 74 is supposed to populate line 76 to give a senior money back but it is a green field that says zero when it shouldn't. If you override this value netfile will not work. This is frustrating. It did the same thing for 2021 but was not fixed.
