Turbotax - Best selection!
Turbotax is much easier to use than other programs I have used, but watch carefully as it will arbitrarily change selections you have made. Climate Action Incentive will pop from one in a couple to the other, after you've made the selection you prefer.

1 issues
Changing Marital status is not complete. On the information for a new partner there is no where to enter the birthdate which creates an error message in the review process. After trying the help screen and looking for assistance, I finally went online to find a in person help line and they were able to talk me through it. the info needs to be entered in INFLO form

Turbo Tax 2020
The only real issue I had with filing using the product was the 'Fix Issue' feature at the end. The Senior Property Tax Credit was very annoying to try and remove as the 'Fix It' button did not take you to the place you needed to go to remove it and it prevents you from filing. I removed the info and changed the box to 'No' but the place you needed to change it was somewhere else and it took at least 2-3 restarts/reloads and looking around in other areas to find it and remove it. It took longer to do that than it did to complete the joint tax returns.

Always Good Software
Generally easy to use but can't give 5 stars because there are a couple of issues. The CRA download works well but I had problems with my T5008's, the information was downloaded but I had to reenter because the capital losses were not being automatically carried forward to 2021.

Covid costs need to be improved
Overall this product is easy to use. I ended up forfitting my work from home tax break because it refused to allow me to enter the number of days I worked from home due to covid.

Spousal info
It would be useful if you provided a summary screen showing the lines and amounts that CRA wants for spousal income and taxes paid, so we don't have to search for those amounts.

not as trouble free this year
I do multiple returns and this year TTax had difficulty - always wanted to download CRA data from the first CRA connection. Did not ask for new CRA info from the next person to be downloaded.

Good tax software
I have been using TurboTax for years now. Before that it was called QuickTax. There is some learning involved but once you have worked with it ( a few years ) its great to use. On line filing is so simple and I like the review you can run to check if you have missed anything. Worth the money to file your taxes on your own.

Rating TurboTax Premier 2019
I have been using QuickTax/TurboTax for years and likely will be for a while yet. I like the software and find that it works relatively well. But, over the years, I have been discovering more and more idiosyncrasies (I don't have time to list them all), which make the software a lot less intuitive than I would like it to be. Amongst others, in TurboTax2019, the Help function is not working as well as I would like it. On numerous occasions I was led to a topic that was irrelevant to the field my cursor was in at the time I selected the Help button. On numerous other occasions, the software reported a broken link. On a different topic, it would also help if the software could "always" lead you to the source form when one is trying to update a "calculated" field. I was dealing with a lot of new tax matters, this year, and on many occasions, I was left to figure out on my own where the source was and, in one case, that took a lot longer than I was happy with. Finally, I did run into a bug, again in TurboTax2019, while using the "Save PDF" function (a function I very much appreciate being part of the software). The function had perfectly worked, as a "save" function, when I was saving the first of two returns, but would only work as a "print" function for the second return. I will use the software again, as I am now quite familiar with it. But my recommendation to others comes with some reservations, especially for new users.

Great value, a few bugs
There are a few recurring problems in Turbo Tax. The most annoying is the inability to add extra lines to sections where they only give you a token number of lines (usually 3) that are nowhere near enough. Examples of these are the Foreign Investment by Country section or the Carrying Charges section. Turbo Tax is also very confusing when you are filling out a tax return for a deceased person - they gave information that I had to amend after talking to CRA by phone. But overall for this price, it's a great value, but the software is by no means foolproof.

Good but
Over all I liked using the program. There are three forms where I would like to see changes. T5013 - since the program is for individuals would like to be taken to the place to enter the information as per the CRA. It should allow more than one source for foreign income. T5008, very cumbersome if you have a lot of entries. Would like to see them utilize the list instead of the stock by stock screen. Charitable Donations, again would like to see the list. I know you can just type in a total amount but I like seeing what I am inputting in case of an error. Other than that I am quite happy with the program.

Deceased filing
Filing for a deceased person is a pain, as it seems to require 2 separate data files. If you are trying to minimize taxes you need to use data from the deceased for the spouse. Not easy without completing one and then manual entry from it to the spouses form.

Excellent Product
Please include the option to LIST but NOT CLAIM Medical Expenses and Charitable Donations for people who do not need to use them to reduce their income tax payable, so that there is a record to print, no override is necessary and NETFILE can be used.

some difference in the forms
I did for me and my wife tax return, and we found some difference in the forms for the condo we rent...the partnership we claimed is 50/50% (easy step) but in the forms is 51/49%...so we are a bit confused...

User Friendly Product
I love the product, but the price is high. I only needed to file 2 claims. I wouldn't have saved much by opting for the individual claim x 2. But all good, someone other than the government needs to make money.

Problem withCapital Gains
Instructions are not clear on how to enter info. When doing this year's calculation, I noticed an error in last year's calculation of Capital Gains, where one of my transactions was listed twice, distorting my loss for the year. On page 1 of Schedule 3, there is only room for 8 transactions, but on page 2 of SUPP, there are 9 slips listed. I entered the missing slip on page 1 of SUPP, which affected the total on page 2 and then affected SCHEDULE 3 incorrectly.

Necessitated upgrading to Win10
Its been a challenge to install, eventually had to give up my win7 and upgrade to win10.
Other than that, a lot of repeated questions about saving and printing and now a payment option steering to paypal and all, seems like we can't finish filing in the end. Also, for 3 times its telling you about warnings, I know it once is enough. Quite good overall.
Why not pulling my Unapplied Capital Loss from CRA automatically?
Why not displaying all the stocks info (buy, sell, fee) like a grid format in the easy step view ?

Need Merge Feature
My daughter had erroneously began 2019 tax return without uploading 2018 Carryforward info. But when i uploaded Carryforwards, I inadvertently had to start a new 2019 tax return meaning i had to re-input all the data she'd already inputted (T4s, moving profiles, etc.) So inconvenient & time-consuming. Please add a MERGE feature for 2 same-year tax returns for the same person!

T5008
Very challenging to figure out how to enter T5008 data. I downloaded each item from CRA. It was all nicely summarized in my TurboTax file, but it would not let me file unless I declared whether each sale was Income or Capital Gains. When I clicked Capital Gains it added each item again. Had to delete each item downloaded to be able to use NetFile. Should be simpler. Did a whole lot of checking on TurboTax website to figure out what to do. Website was not really helpful.
