could be much simpler. Once a return has been filed it should not ask about saving changes especially when no changes have been made. It was only opened for information at a later date. I find this very disturbing when I am only looking for information, not making changes.

Easy to File
I have used TurboTax for quite a while and am always amazed at how easy it is to use, enter the details and make the claims (even the non common ones) to get the best return possible. Keep on making it simple for us to file.

Only improvement is re T5013 and T5008 inf entries
Suggest either another software version for easier T5008 investment capital gains/losses entries and Partnership T5013 entries allowing block 106, 113 and block 117 entries as well as all others that may be indicated on a T5013.

Used it for years and am satisfied, but not happy that when you want to print, it asks if you want to delete empty pages before printing and you say yes, it still prints them ALL!! A total waste of paper, because your sin # is on all the pages.

Quite useful back-up
The programme provides a useful mathematical check of inputs. I have always used my own spreadsheet as a back-up and to update my potential liability or refund as the year proceeds. Valuable in these uncertain times!

Assistance
I was disappointed this year that I was unable to get any help with my return without agreeing to pay extra money. I already bought the premium version of Turbo Tax and didn't want to pay even more money to get an answer to a simple question. It says there is free support but the only thing I could find was through the community and I didn't get an answer to my question. Years ago you could have a 'chat' with someone and I wish that was still available.

Medical bills not friendly
If you have more then few bills from same health provider, instead listing provider name and type of medical help provided, should be the table listed under with dates and amount!
Typing 25 chiropractors and 15 massages at same medical space without being able to copy/paste or have autofill is waste of time.

I WOULD LIKE IT IF YOUR CD s had on them
a marking of either personal and the year it covered.
like wise your business Cds showing the year but also that it is a business cd because if you acquire several cds , once they are out of the sleeve they came in, one has difficulty to reenter them in the right sleeve with their control number .

Pretty good
Program kept crashing while trying to import second (spouse's) T4 from the CRA website. Had to input it manually. Otherwise worked well.

Very Good
One drawback with the software is if one has downloaded CRA's information slips before all the slips are filed with CRA then all the slips including the missing ones are downloaded again.

Easy for first time users
Overall very easy to use, sometimes a bit confusing if you want to go back and review some stuff, harder to find the exact page. Steps on the side sometimes hide a few pages, so have to got back a little further and skip a few pages.

Difficult beyond the basic function
The basic stuff - T4s and donations, are easy to understand and use. However, once you dispose of a property or have dividend income, the questions become very unclear. If I have to buy the premier edition, then also buy the help and audit shield, then I might as well have just gone to a tax preparer at H&R block.

Does the job
I have been using TurboTax/Intuit for over a decade now, and have always found it an excellent choice. I cannot assign it 5 stars because there is still some issues with explanations of various deductions. I consider that my situation is mildly complicated, including tuition for my son and wife, tax returns for all, investment and medical deductions. In prior years i also dealt with my parent's returns, and had to include their final returns upon their passing. I recommend Turbo Tax tio anyone who asks

Smooth
This year's turbotax worked very smoothly without the hiccups from last year that required me to be online with a representative. When I did call in with an inquiry, there was virtually no wait and the person who helped me was friendly. I personally think that basic investments should be part of the standard not premium offering.

Does the job well enough
For my tax returns including T4, T5, T3, T5008 and T5013, Premium does the job well, easily with good sequence and clarity.
It does not allow split T5013 entries. You must enter twice, once for yourself and once for your spouse halving the pertinent values

Good product
I would like to see capital gains calculated automatically from Tax Slips and inserted in the appropriate T1 General line and in the investment schedules also, S3 and S3 Supp. I would also like to see printing enabled with a keystroke button for reports such as the Detailed Tax Review that is presented in the Summary process. Payments by Remittance Vouchers should also be a simplified process - the Remittance voucher form should be accepted by financial institutions if it's printed at home.

Overall it's a fantastic software and easy to use. Only issue I have is with the rental income section. We have properties that are sole proprietorship and others that are co-ownership between the two of us (spouses). The drop down menu shows all 4 properties for one but not for the other. And the person that should have all four associated with them cannot see 2 of them in the drop down. Been a problem for at least the last three years. Would like that fixed but other than that, I'd be lost without this software (or paying 10 times the amount to an accountant). Thank you Intuit for making a user friendly software that's cost effective!

Unclear questions
Double negative question re no income to report re lines 10100 - 15000 - (confusing) should be "Do you have income to report"
***Import from CRA didn't work**** (This was a simple return Basic Old Age income from the government)

Should have separate questions when asking about direct deposit option Your wording is really confusing.

Easy to Use, nice import from CRA site to program
the only thing I did not like was trying to access live Tax Advice. It asked if I want, I said yes, and it stated it would be added to my cart . But it did not seem to open to use?
I like how you can download from CRA site and transfer in from last years tax file.

Complicated Returns
Use the download version for complicated returns. I had to transfer a lot of information from the online version. It is beneficial to be able to review the forms themselves.
The worst caveat is that you cannot transfer information from last year's on-line return into a different version (download) of Turbo Tax.

Uncomplicated
As a former accountant, I have prepared many personal tax returns. Turbo tax allows me to follow and keep up to date with issues that only concerns me now. Even if I know what to report and the amount, I find it complicated to know and fill out all the necessary forms, schedule, worksheets and line numbers to follow. Turbo tax easily does that for me. It also informs me of the computer, online and CRA connections I require.
