very good
very good but the questions about Universal Child care , is confusing because ask about back payments, or existing payments. once enter the data is not easy to correct , I have to do a new one tax return, losing a one form to completed

Good but glitchy
This year's tax software was glitchy. I needed two extensive phone sessions with Turbotax experts to sort out the installation problems, and then with fields that would not accept my data (I had to enlargen the screen substantially before the program would accept data). There were also maddening failures when trying to register my software; I had to re-enter 2 pages of id about 6 times, and eventually was only able to register it two months after initially trying to do so. This is the 1st year Turbotax has been anything but excellent, and because of my many years of experience with it, I will still recommend the software... for now.

Backtrack
Easy to use but you should start with all info at hand and finalized.
Had trouble backtracking to a previous page then getting back to where I left off. Couldnt master printing any current page of interest.

Confusing Investments pages
If you enter a summary of investments on Schedule 3, DO NOT edit them in the Review/Errors section of EasyView - you will be double counting them. Very confusing on Intuit's part. Accountant told me to skip importing of T5's.

good program
I had used an accountant for many years costly hundreds of dollars. although it did take a bit of time to figure everything out I was able to submit my taxes and saved a ton of money.

Great value for money
Great sofware, easy steps are easy to follow and guide you through all the different areas. You have to make sure thought that you click everything that applies to you at the beginning of the interview otherwise steps will be missed.

Great Program but not for decreased persons
Very difficult to do tax returns for decreased person as they need to be done separately. In doing this, you cannot easily determine who best to claim the Medical and how much to claim when splitting pension. Also you have to override when filling out T1032. Not easily done. Need to have a return for instances like these that are user friendly.

Easy, Thorough and Reliable
TurboTax is generally a pleasure to use. I have been using it for more than 5 years and have found it to be consistently easy, thorough and reliable. The only criticisms I have are that some of the Easy Method prompts are not as clear as they could be and, particularly for Quebec returns, the Help information sometimes does not seem responsive to the distinct Quebec issues that are dealt with in the process of inputting relevant information. For the first time this year, I had a problem installing the software from the disc I received from TurboTax, but the TurboTax representative I reached (easily) by telephone was able to resolve it very efficiently, staying with me throughout to make sure that everything was working as it should.

Works great!
Works great! Only improvement I can suggest is that the charitable donations on T4 slips get imported into the returns automatically. At the very least, there should be a warning that they aren't being imported.

T1135 was awful. not enough blanks for stocks. warnings kept saying there were missing numbers but no indication where. lots of frustrations in filling T-slips. for dividends, why would you add the actual amount and the taxable amount and the tax credit

mostly easy to use. can do with lots of improvements. can sell product with 4 returns at cheaper price for homeowners. 12 returns is usually not required, and package is pricey.

Problem with Surface Pro 4
The increase text size button does not work with headings or other pages' text so I had to use a magnifying glass to read them. Not very good design and testing. Makes me wonder about the quality of the product when such a trivial problem exists and hasn't been corrected.

Relatively Painless
I used TurboTax Premier. The process was painless except for some minor confusion related to entering T5008 form data (no explanation was given as to why 4 digit numbers were being truncated to 2 digits). The was resolved with a Google search. I used NetFile for the first time and it went smoothly.

problem with warnings
I had rental property, and forgot to include property tax in the expenses section. there was two screens on the expenses section and I did not see this deduction , as it was on the second screen. turbo tax did NOT catch this as a warning and I think it should have.

Carry over info missing
When return was started the info from previous years that needed to be carried forward wasn't. There was no prompt on the welcome page to indicate that the program realized that the old returns were available and info could be fetched. I have been using Quick Tax / Turbo Tax for 20 years now. I know what to look for. I eventually phoned your help line and was helped very quickly and efficiently to the item in the drop down menu that allowed previous info to be brought forward. Hidden and none of the help screens mentioned that the command was in the dropdown menu.
I hope next year you make the Welcome screen a little more obvious .

Helps with the slog
Still a lot of tedius typing and figuring but does the grunt work. Pension optimiser is a great asset. Unfortunately, as the tax codes get more complicated, turbotax also follows along, and does not explain the issues any better. Good for simple tax situations, but you need to know what you are doing if complex or unusual - ATM is well hidden amogst other issues. Med expensse optimiser does not work with pension optimiser.

needed help
I had to get extra help . The tax person was kind and patient and after valiant effort it was decided the only solution to the glitch was to do a total new return. This was a success ! totally worth the cost!

I made it!
I received 2 T4A's under box 48 for the first time this year. It took over a hour and a half holding the line to contact Revenue Canada and more time to talk to Statistics Canads to be able to complete my Income Tax file. No help available from Turbo Tax which was disappointing.

Very Good but could be Great
Please allow printing of more items such as Summaries for at least: T Slips, Donations + Medical to make it very easy to reply to CRA requests for supporting documents either during a pre NOA review or a post NOA review.

Hi there. There should be clearer help and description information for the T5008 tax slip and what kind of income it represents especially on how it relates to the T3 slip received for the same mutual fund. If this information is in the help it was not searchable. Thanks.

Good, but not stress-free.
Using this software makes this annual chore bearable. I have a few gripes. I dislike the totalling of dividends, grossed-up dividends and dividend tax credit on the T5 form. There is plenty of room for separate totals, so who not do it? Also, the programme should include a form to enclose with payment when mailing it. The software is not hard to use, but it annoys me that I cannot have two forms open at the same time. I have not tried other tax software.
