I sold my rental property
1) Under the tax tips and warnings, Turbo Tax did not ask me whether I have carried forward capital loss from previous year.
2) I mail in my tax return and I am residing in Toronto. Last year I mailed it to the Tax Office address as per Turbo Tax's instructions but it was incorrect. The correct address should be Sudbury, Ontario P3A 5C1. Please verify and correct on the software if necessary.

Ease of use.
Simplified filing is best attribute. Have T4s, T5s, T3s, RRSPs, Charitable & Political contributions - mine & missus - all on slips. Previous year had borrowed money to invest - wrote it off easily. Only one little issue: Taxable capital gains are not made easy to find & deduct with this software - once I enterred an amount I had difficulty to undo.

The program worked well again this year. I really like the optimizers. Unfortunately, I found it difficult to register online with TurboTax this year, quite frustrating.

Good deal for multiple returns
Used for 4 taxpayers including 2 in Quebec so OK investment. Would not purchase for just one return. Nice that you can upload your T4 and Releve 1 info directly from CRA site. Not good that there is no easy way to import tax filer personal information from previous e-returns so you have type it all in again. Anyway, got the job done.

Warnings could be improved
I've used Turbo Tax for years, and am very happy with the product. This year I accidentally left out my income tax deducted from my T4. Fortunately I found the error, but I would like to see that come up as a warning "You entered a T4 but show $0 on income tax deducted"

Really like this product
We have rental property and this software makes sure you get the income and expenses right. It asks the right questions and lets you know about missed information, possible items that can be claimed, etc. I really don't know what I did without it before. Been using since 2011, won't use anything else

Good product
Turbo Tax is easy to use, but you have to be very careful at the beginning during your tax profile...make sure all questions are answered fully! I used the easy step method. It would be a better product if you could print out certain pages or detailed tax summaries,,,year over year comparisons etc. there is room for improvement.

Turbo Tax
Found the software easy to use and straight forward. A few times, trying to find the correct form for a particular investment or pension question did not pop up in the list of forms. It would be useful if they had a way of indicating which lines changed if wanted to refile a changed tax return.

Rental Income
I've always just used the standard edition of TurboTax, but because I purchased a rental property in 2019, required Premier. The property is shared ownership between my wife and I so income and expenses are shared. It is confusing as to properly split income and expenses.

Good, but
It works pretty well, but didn't find an easy way to report a bug. It gave me an error for my Quebec return (which was true), but kept returning me to the wrong step in EasyStep. It took quite a while to find out what was wrong.

Almost perfect
It is easy to use, but has one weakness. When you do not need all of your charitable donations or medical expenses, it does not tell you how much you should carry forward. Otherwise 9 out of 10.

One recommendation would be to allow for a quick entry of entering the investment shares between Spouse and personal when you have multiple T3, T5 and T5008. Allow for "Apply to all" option. Also, add an ability to Split joint T5013 forms.

Easy to use but too expensive
I have used turbotax for several years. It is easy to use but very expensive unless you use for all 12 returns included. You should be able to buy a cheaper version that does less returns

CWB
The software has an issue with how the CWB is calculated. My husband and my returns are linked. After I input all of the slips and information the tax summary was showing an $880 tax credit for CWB. When I looked at Schedule 6 it was not showing my husband's income in the determination of eligibility. The question 'Do you have an eligible spouse' was answered No. When I changed it to Yes, his income was taken into account and I lost the CWB credit (as it should be). In other words, the system did not take into account total household income by default.

Good S/W Product but...
Great product but for couples using separate filings, their is no way to handle joint partnership income on the T5013 forms without calculating each of the fields for both returns. There should be a % value to allow joint partnerships to be calculated by the program. This is particularly onerous when multiple joint partnerships are involved.

Good software but not intuitive
Most features are well done and the examples are good. But I continue to find myself frustrated with the interface for the Capital Cost Allowance interface for my rental property. It's good enough if a person wants claim maximum depreciation, but it does not allow a person to adjust these numbers or explain them very well. Once again I find this a frustrating feature.
