Long Time User
This is a good piece of software if you've used it several years. I could see that if you were a first time user it would be a bit much, even with the EasyStep. A suggestion: give an option for EasyStep to look at your previous return and ask if anything has changed and adjust the screens accordingly.

Generally good enough
The program has improved over the years, however it is still glichy. I could't get the program to connect with the CRA to import my T slips etc. It worked one day then two days later it didn't. I ended up having to start a whole new template from scratch for my wife and I. That worked but then you get no year over year comparison as you didn't copy the info from last years return.
Also I find that even when you go back to Profile and unclick a box (say...carrying back a capital gain loss this year to another year) it still open the window for that item later in the template, which makes you go back and ensure you unticked it, and sure enough you did but it still opens the window to enter the data that you deselected. Annoying. The Pension Optimizer etc is good. But it is all done now and I am getting money back.

Data transmition problem
When entering tuition fees paid to foreign educational institutions off of form T11A, there
appears to be a problem? The information is
transmitted to Schedule 11 as a Canadian educational institution?

Good product, some challenges
I've been using this software for a number of years and have had good results with it. I do think that some profile questions could make it easier for rental owners to pre-fill sections such as the percentage of a property for personal use.

Seemed almost too easy but...
I was surprised, having downloaded all my Ts from the CRA, that I had to go in and individually mark a whole swack of T5008s as Interest or Cap. Gains. Surely somewhere there is system adjustment to ensure that the government gets that info from the investment companies.

Difficulty loading software
Once installed and activated the program works very well. It took 45 minutes to install the program and load the first update. For some reason loading the software from a disk would not allow the program updates to load. I had to uninstall and re-install again. It took several attempts which was very frustrating. This was the first time in several years of using the program that I encountered such a problem.

easy to use
I have used Turbo Tax for several years now and have always been happy with the product. I was quite surprised this time to find that there were several glitches in the program. It shut down by itself several times, was difficult to open the program and the tab button only worked intermittently.

Newf on the loose
Turbo Tax continues to be our way to go every year. The only problem I incur is having to re-enter info i.e. form T776. Every time I return to it I have to reinput the personal info. I am very pleased with the product overall.

good program
It is a good program and walks you through all the things you need to do to make all the deductions you are owed. However the last 2 years I have had issues bringing data forward. It is disappointing because the help center does not seem to know how to fix the problem

Still useful
Hasn't changed much from last year, still a useful program. Would be great if it could also show you what your values for each field were from the previous year (assuming you import last year's file). Currently I toggle between the previous year's Turbo Tax applications to compare.

It works well for what we need
the format is easy to follow and has all the forms. It has lots of prompts to remind you, and also reviews to optimize your return and income and credits splitting.
I like that its paperless, and the auto filing function at the end, also saving copies to .pdf
For us, its cheaper than hiring a outside company to do it, and I have confidence its done correctly and properly.

Printing
Would be nice to be able to print out just the income and expense summaries in order to check your totals as you go along. Could not find a way to do this.
Can only print out a two year comparison summary further on in the program.
Due to the corona virus, amended dates for filing and paying had not been changed in the program when I filed.

Both my wife and I receive Pensions from another Country other then the U.S.
It is easy enough to enter the income and any taxes we paid in the year to that foreign Country. However, I have had difficulty figuring out how to enter the exempt amount of our Pensions as well as where to write the taxes paid to the foreign country in the Foreign tax credit section.

Good tax program
Been using Turbo tax for longer than I can remember. Fairly user friendly. They could improve some things eg we have lots of medical exp claims - painful to enter details line after line. Why not help by prompting complex prescription items if they have been already mentioned earlier in the list (like Excel spreadsheets do)?

Some areas for improvement.
Unlike prior years, the interface with CRA for downloading a spouses information is clumsy and not well explained. TurboTax locked up requiring re-entry and manual entry of information. Msg box stating that unexpected closure of the software would be protected was not true.
