Great product from a great company.
Something has to be done about other pensions that are received and have to be entered to line 115. There has to be a easier way to do it on an extra form and not as a T4 or T3, when in reality it isn't either. Other than that its an easy program to use.

Reliable, fast and accurate
I have used Turbo Tax Premier for at least a decade. While every program has a learning curve I found Turbo Tax easy from the beginning. I like the look and feel of its forms and navigating is pretty straightforward. I've only had to call twice in all those years and I found the interactions quite satisfactory. I've never had it make a mistake - only I have made mistakes in data entry!

Ex Accountant Review
I like the program, but as requested before, I would like to see the way the program handles dividends improved. It would be much better if the program calculated the taxable amount and dividend tax credit from the actual amount instead of having your clients enter all three amounts into the T5 form page.

like using this
I like your product and am a long time user. Was frustrated with the form for the sale of principal residence as it kept saying i had not completed it properly. I finally ignored it but it was extremely frustrating.

Turbo tax 2017 premier edition
the rental income section was having problems of saving and the individual items such as vehicle expenses amount etc was not easily tracked or documented. On the other hand, the standard version works better in this case. I believed I have wasted money for using the premier edition

A Step Down From Previous Years
I have been using this product for over 20 years and have never been disappointed. That said, I felt the 2017 Tax year software had a few performance issues. Some of the check boxes would not display my indicated choices, and even though I indicated no every time, 100% of my clients were recognized as being part of the Nisga nation and living of Nisga lands which I had to correct during review. Not major, but annoying. Was also unable to fill the address field on the T1 general which again, had to be fixed during review. Never had issues before this year. I still think it's a very good product and will most likely buy it again next year.

please fix
I usually rate turbo tax and previously quick tax very highly. Unfortunately this year after running all over the city to get a CD copy of Turbo Tax---I was VERY disappointed to find when I used it that I kept getting a script error--even after I downloaded the updates. Was told by a very helpful rep that i would have to download the whole Turbo Tax or as I filled out the income tax I would continually get the error reading and have to try to delete it. well I did that for the first one I did for my Mother as it is very simple---BUT now will have to download---a real pain!!! Now have to take the time which I do not have--as well do not have high speed internet to correct Turbo Tax problem. Should I get a partial refund??

Income Tax returns mads Easy
I've been using Turbo Tax for years for my families Income Tax returns.. It does simplify Tax returns process and save money ...The only suggestion I have is to reduce your profit margin to encourage more people to do their own returns.

My Turbo Tax Has a Printing Bug in the software
I like it and will continue to buy TurboTax but in this 2017 Tax year version there was a bug that froze the very final paper print when I was at a deadline. The software said Error 1706 and when I went to the Help part of Turbo Tax there was nothing there. So then I went to TurboTax on my TurboTax Support task bar and the Microsoft tried to waste my time trying to get me using Edge. Then I finally got an answer in Turbo Tax support telling me to reinstall my Turbo Tax and that it would not lose my work files.But it did not tell me where to get the installation. Then I finally found my orignal purchase installalion in an old email from TurboTax. I clicked to download it and then clicked on reinstall (Note I did not delete the TTax original installation but there was no instruction to guide me on this aspect. I got lucky. Then after it quickly installed, I tried to print my returns again and all went well immediately. This should all have been fixed in one of the many updates during the year.

Good if return is simple
I've used turbo tax for sometime and have previously rated it higher. My previous returns were straight-forward but this year things were complicated by 3 matters: 1) I was remarried and my new wife had some complexities related to legal fees during a lengthy divorce; 2) I had unexpected triple by-pass surgery in early April that prevented me from getting to this by the deadline; and 3) I retired last June. It took a lot of fiddling to get things to work correctly. The so-called optimizers, at least the one for medical expenses do NOT work, or at least they work in a way beyond my understanding. I was also most annoyed that I upgraded when we started in late April wanting to ensure access to a review. However, because of the problems we were late, and I discover that the reviews are no longer available for late filers ... but of course, the money disappeared anyway. I will certainly use the package again, and next year when our return will be simpler, I hope it will be as satisfactory as it has been in previous years.

There are several typographical errors in the 'Review' step (not very professional).

Rental Too Confusing
If you are a co-owner of your rental property with your spouse or partner the Turbo Tax Premier will actually be too confusing. Last year I used the basic and it was much easier to work with when it came to entering my rental incomey. This year I decided to use Premier in the hope of making it even easier, but to no avail.

Get the store bought and avoid on line version
The on line version is TERRIBLE. The store bought version (Premier) is far superior for 2017 tax year.

Great product
The only problem I have is when closing, the product asks if you would like to set up an tax account or change your deposit information. It does not give you the option of "no thanks, I am already a user" and "no thanks, my directr deposit information is correct:"

Did the trick!
I did 2016 and 2017 at the same time as we were forced to leave our home in search of work, so we've had other worries besides taxes on our minds. I found that the suggestions from Turbo Tax were good for the moving expenses, but a bit misleading - I gathered and summarized all my expenses for moving only to find out the government forms wanted them classified in a specific order / specific categories. But bottom line even though it was frustrating, I got the feeling turbo tax had me claiming more than I would have found on my own. I also found these years the software was a bit harder to go back and forth between forms and their simplified "Easy Step" method. Sometimes you find a mistake and it's a lot faster to just go correct it on the form than going thru all the EasyStep questions again, but having said that I'm not sure how they could improve it, just that it seemed harder than I remember from earlier years working with QuickTax and TurboTax.

Have Used QuickTax and Turbotax since 1999. Have always found the program easy to use. Only issue with 2017 was the print confirmation would not function; was necessary to take a screenshot and save and print from a photo program.

MinorProblems
When asked if I had self employed income I selected NO. When I reviewed my tax return an ERROR showed up. It said that I had Indicated that I had self employed income and that I hadn't filled in the name of the province where the income was earned. I checked again and made sure that I had selected NO. When I tried to net file my return I was not allowed to because the error still existed. I was told to print and mail my return. When I tried to print it wouldn't print. I had to go back to the ERROR and "correct" it by putting in the name of my province so that I could finally net file my return. I have always used
turbotax Standard with no problem. This time I upgraded to TurboTax Premier. Next year I might go back to
standard again.

Excellent Program
Step by step input makes tax returns a breeze for the simpler tax returns. Had difficulty with the options when connection and sign-in with the CRA website was required (early assessment info). Program hung up - had to quit and fire it up.
