Premium Needed?
Easy to use, for sure, Not sure I need the "recommended" upgrade to Premium, though, as I have virtually no investments, therefore no worries about optimizing claim periods.

Capital loss confusion
Did not walk me thru capital loss calculation very easily - quite confusing.
Then, did not leave me feeling like capital loss would be added on to prior year losses on Notice of Assessment

Glitches
I have used Turbo Tax for several years, this year I found glitches when trying to send in family taxes to CRA, which is frustrating. When you want to start another family members taxes it will not take you to back like previous years.

Foreign Dividends
I had trouble locating a spot to enter my foreign dividends, last year there was a question that specifically asked for these. This year it was embedded in the other income box. I had to go to Google to find the answer, with the resulting level of uncertainty.

some issues
I love the import function; however the T5008 section was completely mystifying. I found myself guessing and the "instructions" were technical gobbledygook. That's my only issue and I hope it didn't cost me anything. If it does, I will not be back.

there were issues around the CPP element when I tried to Netfile. Not sure what corrected it. Very frustrating 45 minutes.

T3 & T5 Slips
It would be helpful if the Premier version prompted the filer who is completing a joint return with a spouse to remember to split the appropriate investment income between couples for each slip or perhaps have a screen that did it for all slips as opposed to have to go through each one. Also not sure given the CRA has everyone's sip info and it is downloaded from their site...why I have to manually add amounts for Box 20 on form T5008.

TurboTax Premier
Being a first-time user of this software, I goofed a lot and had to go back and correct many things. The product stood up to my "abuse" and I quickly gained confidence that I was doing no harm and that my tax return was coming out just fine.

Good but with typos
Sadly there were at least 3 grammatical errors during the interview. I would have thought that the creators of TurboTax would have done a thorough review before allowing people to use their product.

It is getting better
I am a long time user of turbo tax, which is a great product, simplify the tax filing. The easy steps, in places, the wording can be more confusing than the tax form. For a repeat filer the flow is illogical (set the carryover data, add slips, then go through easy steps)

A little quirky
I have used TurboTax for many years. This year I've done some family tax returns that are a little different than I've done before, and I have found it a little confusing. I'm not sure to what extent this is Turbo Tax, and to what extent it is our tax regulations...

Pretty good
Overall, the premier program does the job fairly well. However, Turbo tax should hire someone to proof read the software as I found several typos which gives an unprofessional appearance.

Great except one thing
I have used it for years. I only wish that I could buy the equivalent of the CD (ie. 8 returns) and use it online. I would rather be able to do my tax returns from my Macbook wherever I go instead of having to stay at my Windows computer. I can't justify buying the individual online returns when I have to do taxes for my whole family.

good
I bought the premier edition this year for rental income and capital gains calculations, but found that it didn't give me any more info than the standard version. I would recommend the standard version to most people. The best thing for me is the pension split equalizer.
