good tax software
Premiere was very good for me to easily fill out and calculate dividends, capital gains etc. Do find their pop-up to register annoying since it pops up repeatedly after you have already registered.

First Time User
I was a little apprehensive in using this product as we always had our returns prepared for us by a professional service. The easy guide process really helped out. When stuck, the drop-down help boxes moved the process forward.

Capital gains
A bit disappointing, capital gains for 2017 not automatically offset by capital losses from previous years. At least taxpayer should be alert about the issue.

Nearly Perfect
Great program! Very easy to use. In the title dropdown menu there should be 'Doctor' for one of the choices. The price is still a tad on the expensive side for what the program delivers.

Good Tax Prep Software
Very easy to use and does a good job of preparing return and recommending tax saving and error correction suggestions. Could improve the recommendations for splitting income and donations though.

easy to use, some things to fix
First time using the premier version due to rental property. While all fields are there to enter, it would be nice if a wizard asked you for types of expenses, income you had, and aggregate/summarize them into the proper boxes (example condo fees)

Getting started
I purchased turbo tax in Dec the previous year. When I sat down to do my return online I went to the turbo tax website and attempted to sign in - website wouldn't accept my email or telephone - informed me to fill in my name dob, sin # and ph # and advised I would be sent an email. Filled in this form 3 times and waited over an hour for the email that never came. Finally figured out that you have to download the turbo tax package previous purchased and once downloaded fill in the key number provided at the time of purchase. Wish they would have some instructions on their website on how to proceed after previously purchasing their product.

Great value
The program is very user friendly; however, help screens pertaining to sale of principal residence needs to be expanded with respect to which tax payer needs to report such sale.
eg. 100% to one taxpayer or 50/50 (husband and wife).

A good product for an uncomfortable process
I found the product user friendly and comforting as it guides one through the process of filing taxes annually. It helps organize your thinking and assists in understanding the process through help menus where their are questions

Easy to Use
Overall a good and convenient product.
Issues: The Help screens for each section could give an explanation of the terminology and example of the type of situation that applies.
The T-5008 data entry should provide for jointly owned accounts with the ability to split the amounts on a single T5008.

Turbo Tax 2017 Review
The "Help" is not very clear. You need to be a tax lawyer to understand. What is needed is to have a variety of examples or situations. Your "clarification" should be simple, easy for idiots to understand, clear, and direct. If your further updates address this aspect then your product will become a 5-star product with no doubts.

Improving every year
The application has been working on making it easier to navigate and go between forms and the easy step option.
Going back to edit can be a bit cumbersome when you want to make changes, but once you do make them it is easy to check the results.
Entering information is easy and the calculations embedded in the software are time saving.
The input from CRA went smoothly for filling the forms.

Some Additions Needed
Turbo Tax is very easy to use and gives the user a stress free experience.
I would like to see the addition of an easy to use review system that would allow the user to call up/retrieve an individual medical receipt for editing once one has entered all their receipts. This will allow a user to correct any errors or omissions that they may discover after have left that left that section.

Improvements I would like to see
I am now well acquainted with Turbo Tax.
However, it is not as easy to install as package indicates.
Tax package should automatically move Medical Expenses to spouse where benefit is greatest. Now the Medical Expense Worksheet has to be marked (even though in Receipts/Medical there is already a name marked) - inconvenient.
For low income, the ON-BEN should be automatically marked in box 6118 or a reminder to mark box 6118 should appear in Receipts/Property where rent/property tax is entered.
Pension Splitting - should change back to "No" after trying Optimization and no amount is chosen for splitting.

Almost as good as it used to be
I haven't used TurboTax in several years (had my taxes done by an Accountant). Last I used it, I could "chat" with a tax expert online as I worked my way through. This year, I had to wait and then pay more to talk with an expert. As I say, it's almost as good as it used to be. Thanks.

still cheaper than paying an accountant
I would like to see the information for tips better presented for people with less tax experience. It should have descriptions in layman's terms or have a longer description as some areas are very confusing.
If you want to spend your day doing your taxes, it's still worth the money though

Difficult to file on paper
The process of creating the return was good. When trying to file. with an amount payable, I was not able to get a print out to be sent since the program could not find the file where it had stored the relevant program. Since the program was loaded off of the turbo tax site this should have been clear to it.

Good puchase
It's quite helpful. I have used it for tax declaration for 5 years. At first 1 or 2 year as I'm not familiar with some of concepts, and have spent lots of time reading the "support", this year I used much less time finishing my declaration. will buy again next year.
