Clumsy Product!
Why does Auto Fill my Return always pop up after the tax receipts have already been entered?
Why are there so many Continue buttons when filling your tax return?

The reason I only gave it four stars is I found it a bit inflexible when I had to enter information that did not fit the script. For instance, unclaimed RRSP deductions from the prior year's first two months.
I did not like all the upselling either. I paid for the product and found the upselling a bit intrusive.
All else was great.

Very Thorough but sometimes a little unclear
I enjoyed how thorough the turbo tax premier was but it still needed a little changing I think. Too many times after reading the explanations of things like warnings, you're left thinking "I don't think I need to do that" or " I think that applies to me" but not being sure leads to filing mistakes. The program should do the work and definitively tell you when you need to fix something.....or if it can't do that....at least be more definitive. The program was supposed to do that kind of thinking for me. I also found the premier version a bit pricey. I only bought it because I have some investments that I didn't want to miss and if I was confident a cheaper version would have had that information readily available so I wouldn't miss it, I would have definitely bought a cheaper version. It almost lead to me using the free CRA program this year when I've been using Quick Tax and now Turbo Tax forever

Needs a tweek
Does not explain well what to do when spouses live and earn income in different provinces and how to do pension income splitting if that is the case, because taxes differ in each province of residency. No way to do that. I think a computer could calculate that instantly with a joint return regardless of where you work and earn income. This program doesn't.

information transfer
I have used Turbo Tax for many years.
This last year I was married and now my previous years information was not transferred to my new return as my new return was prepared together with my wife.
This should be corrected.

First time buyer
This was the first time I purchased Turbo tax and found overall it was easy to follow and quicker than doing things the old way with paper and pen and having to calculate everything on your own. Auto fill was awesome and saved a lot of time. I had some problems trying to delete items I wanted to change and had some problems under the medical portion, being able to group my whole years medical total as one lump sum, instead I had to submit each receipt separately one by one even though the program said you could submit the whole years total I couldn't
figure out how do do it as the program wanted a specific date for each receipt. All in all I'm very happy with purchasing Turbo Tax and will definitely continue to use Turbo Tax in the future years.

Turbo Tax-Tax Return for Dummies
Tax time is the worst time of the year for me. I become frustrated and conflicted and the return completion is a tedious exercise. Well, thanks to turbo tax I have my eureka and hallelujah moments.

Great to be able to file electronically
I like the program except for a couple of things.
Capital gains reported do not offer a way to share % with spouse. Every transaction has to be reported and divided on both returns. Very onerous if you have a lot of transactions.
Moving back and forth from easy step to the actual form was cumbersome. I often had to start the easy step again, yet I felt the easy step was very useful to prevent forgetting anything.

Very simple to use!
I have used the Turbo Tax Software for several years. I have always been extremely satisfied with it because it is usually so easy to use. However, this year I had to uninstall and try to reinstall the program about 6 times. I called the contact line and the agent helped me get back online so I could finish filing. The agent was extremely helpful.

Keep your eyes open
This software works fairly well although I have 5 rental properties and have shared ownership of 3 different buildings. The software remembers CCA allowances and some of the basic information. It does not fill in partners names and addresses. They seem to need filling in by property. It doesn't even have a check box to fill that part in. It seems to get the calculations right but it is a good idea to print off the return and check to make sure it makes sense. Had a little trouble last year on my wifes side of the return which caused me to have to cough up to Rev. Canada later on in the year. Keep your eyes on the math and this works well

Splitting Pension Income
I think that it would be helpful to show the relevant taxation lines/boxes and amounts for the two returns (transferring spouse and receiving spouse) side by side, where there can be some flexibility in the amount to be transferred.

Program should be updated to allow "coupled" returns to each claim donations. It is legally allow, and so there is no reason for Turbo tax to prevent this choice.

Very good except!
Great program and easy to use!
Only one slight glitch which may be more of a CRA caused problem. When importing T forms from the CRA website for Client Tax Statement which is sent out instead of T5008, all the information is not transferred into Turbo Tax. You have to manually fill in box 16, box 20 and show type of return as capital gains or investment.
Otherwise a great program I have been using for years!

2015 was better
Had a hard time getting back to forms from the review function. The 2015 version allowed you to print off a copy before the netfile submission. The flow between review and submission seemed to flow better in the 2015 version than 2016. Pension splitting optimizer was great.

Provides thorough guidance & good tips
I use Premier because I have investments. TurboTax helps keep me on track so that nothing is missed. In past, I have used other tax software, but had issues, so I trust TurboTax and continue to use it.

Turbo Tax is a challenge the first time. I would prefer to have been able to go back to specific items to enhance my understanding of the program. Several places wouldn't accommodate going back in the program.

LIKE TURBO TAX BUT WISH THE OPTIMIZER AUTOMATICALLY CALCULATED THE OPTIMUM FOR YOU INSTEAD OF HAVING TO PLAY AROUND WITH IT. ONE ASSUMES IT DOES BUT IT DOESN'T .
