Great product - easy to use.
The software itself is great and easy to follow. I experienced the same problem every year printing the registration page...why can't you fix this once and for all???

Very Friendly Software
I have been using Turbo Tax for many years and I am very satisfied with the product. My only reason for not giving it five stars is that there have been a couple of times that I didn't feel it gave me all the entry options it should have. One applied to seniors regarding involuntary separation and another applied to a separated couple using a child as equivalent to married. These are unique situations. Otherwise I'm very satisfied.

Rental Income
Have been using software for many years now and have had a rental property for 5 years. When inputting rental expenses there is no help or quick link for the personal % portion. Unfortunately after learning more about on my own, I realized I made a mistake for the past 4 years and have to resubmit my taxes. My suggestion is to have the highlighted blue link that opens dialog box so that you can understand how personal % works for rental incomes.

Good for Small Rental Owners
We use this to record the income from our rental properties. This works out very well.
I wish there was an easier way to calculate the best amount for pension sharing. We keep needing to open and close each others tax return to identify the maximum benefit for the split. It would be nice if there was some way to have two tax forms open at once, even if in different windows.

Done in two hours
Program was pretty easy to use. Lots of questions, so I feel the program was thorough. I feel the price was a little steep for the investment fill-ins I needed to complete.

Error messages not sepcific
When errors where detected by TurboTax, the error message was never very specific. For example, it would says "your information and your spouse's information must be the same" - but there was no way on finding out "What" information was "not the same".

Premier version not much better than the basic one
Bought this year the premier version as it was advertised as the recommended version for investors. However did not see additional helpful tools. I was expecting that it could keep track of all your trades including the US ones and applied the proper US currency exchange rate for your capital gain amount calculations. Kind of disappointed to spend the extra money for no additional functionalities and benefits. Will revert back to basic version next year.

I am using turbotax and other software before for 30 years. Some things are better now and others not.
I tried to print the Summary, did not work.
I needed the Exchange rate Euro to CAD but could not find it on the Bank of Canada website. With Premium it was promised to get help. When I tried to get ans answer from your team I had to fill in a form. ###-###. When I tried to put the numbers according this sample in, the last digit did not fit in anymore. So I left the hyphen out but this did not work either. This was not very satisfying.

A Few Problems With 2016 Edition
I have used TurboTax for my returns since 2006 and have generally had a very good experience with this product. This year I had to uninstall and then reinstall the Premier edition twice due to failure to update and because of a corrupt or incompatible resource file. I am hoping these glitches will be remedied for future editions.

Makes tax-time easier
I switched to Quick Tax/Turbo Tax about 7 years ago and haven't regretted it once. It certainly makes tax-time a lot easier, especially for someone who isn't all that knowledgeable about claiming investment-related expenses and deductions. There are a couple of little bugs in the system every year but overall it's a really good product.

3 Bugs This Year
Overall I'm a fan of TT but I did notice 3 bugs this year. I have never noticed any before.
1) selecting dependants from the list of dependants does not work properly. The UI doesn't recognize the mouse click correctly and you have to click many times until it finally works.
2) the relationship of a child is confusing, eg. Father or Son?, and if you get this wrong, TT appears to accept a transferred education deduction but silently eats it. TT should alert you if you claim an education transfer to a relative that isn't eligible, rather than silently accepting the data then not using it.
3) if you print to PDF and happen to have the same file name open in Acrobat, TT appears to generate a PDF but doesn't actually. There should be a warning that the file it's trying to write to is open and that it can't generate the PDF.
As a general comment, I'm sorry TT, but I find all the Smart Tips and most of the Warnings annoying. I mostly ignore them. Also it seems like an endless process of mouse-clicking to finish everything up. Maybe in future you should focus on streamlining that part of the UI.

Great Program - one problem!
You can't use it with your Mac computer!!! Fix that, please!! Next year, it won't allow you using Vista OS! Otherwise, the program is excellent particularly if they can get it working on a Mac computer!!

working with CRA auto fill needs improvement
it is very confusing when working with the CRA fill service. Particularly if there are late tslips to enter or
if you chose to update the cra fill information when some has been previously filled in manually . to be fair I assume many of the problems are because this is the first year of the CRA fill service, and there is a lot to accomplish in coordinating their service with turbotax.

I think the program overall is easy to use. Where I find it fell short was providing help with the entry pages for the investment Tslips; T3, T5, T5008 and T5013.
On the T3 or T5 slips, the income provided can be split with the % box at the bottom.
T5008 are completely manual editing. You must divide the amounts manually, a very different process then the T3 or T5.
The T5013, like the T5008 is manual. To have an easy reference for the Industry Code would be nice. Every year I have to go back and see what I put in the program last year...For losses you have to experiment to see if you need to create a negative value or use ().

easy
I was about to spend a whole lot more to file my taxes when my brother suggested I try turbotax. I had no problem with a simple joint return but gave up with a more complicated senior's return with a lot of investments and trust funds etc.

I felt like I probably could have gotten the information that I needed from using the standard version but I've never used the standard version before. Also, there were questions I needed help with that I could not find the answers to in the help section and the rep that I called was uncertain too. That is why I docked a star.

Much more user friendly
This premier edition is way more user friendly than the standard edition. I thought I would tear all my hair out last year before I finished my relatively easy return. It was much much easier this year. The only difficulty I had was entering my other deduction. Also, I would have appreciated a copy of the federal worksheet for the age deduction but I eventually figured out the calculation myself.
All in All I would recommend the Premier Turbo Tax .

Good Value
I use the Premier version of Turbo Tax which is reasonably easy to use. The Survey asked if I had a question but did not provide an option for me to ask the question.
I want to be able to obtain a comparative report for at least 4 years, Turbo Tax provides a comparison for the current year to the previous year but does NOT have the option to print that report.
Survey is too personal and could be improved.
