Turbo Tax Premier
Have used TT Premier for years and it has improved every year. I used to have flow-through shares and TT handled them easily. I wish they could add Estate tax forms as well, that would complete it!

Build in a renewal option in to the program, like the update option.

Good but update didn't work
I've used Turbo Tax for many years without any technical issues. Each time I open it an automatic update is completed. I had our returns prepared and saved. When I opened it today to review and efile them, it went through the usual automatic update. However this time an error message occurred which indicated it could not be updated. The suggested remedy was to uninstall and reinstall the program which I did. Although the data was saved, it was frustrating to go through this procedure when all previous updates were completed flawlessly.

I always purchase the standard version and this year I purchased Premier as I now have a rental property and didn't find any additional value beyond standard.

Good as usual
It works as well as previous years. Wants me to uninstall and re install package when I try to update. I fear losing my almost completed returns. Only other issue was the may tax slips for stock sales did not all load since there were too many of them. Should not be an upper limit on forms downloaded from CRA

One Frustration
When Dealing with an estate, husband & wife returns could not be completed together. I could not have two returns open at the same time. In order to get information from one return for the other I had to keep closing one and opening the other. Very awkward and time consuming. Other than that I like working in the program.
(However, I am noticing that competitors prices are causing me to consider other products.)

Premier TT version - optimizers had to be searched for, and when used did not clearly state whether various scenarios could be tested without changes to the entered data.

Great program :)
Easy to use, I own a rental property and it walks you through everything to consider, such as expenses, ownership status, etc. One tiny annoying this is that I seemed to always have to re-enter my partner's information for the rental property, for some reason. All the other information saves. Weird, and that's the only reason I rated it a 4 and not 5. Great program!!

Better Instructions and Examples
I found when entering Capital Gains and Losses the software was not helpful.
To enter stock info it would be helpful to have an example of the input required.
I still did not report the losses as the stocks reside in my account and have gone to zero as I still do not know what the correct format for entering them in Turbotax is.
Disappointing. I understand the concept as explained by a helpful person.
As well unable to enter the number of shares as there is more than 1 million. Disappointing . This should be fixed asap.

The only thing that needs to be improved is the font used within the program is too small. It should be bigger. other than that the program works very well.

Pretty good
OK software but assumes that you know the abbreviations (LPP for example) and instructions more often ambiguous than I like to see (eg. error code xxx?). I got software so I wouldn't need to go to or become an accountant - wish what-ifs were more prevalent - eg. split incomes. I like previous year carry forward features.

6 years and still using
Overall I have been very happy with turbo tax...my only issue with the program is that I have to re-type parts of our rental information (co-owners names/address) each time that I go back into that section. Not sure why it doesn't save that info like it does for all the other sections.

This year I had trouble with the easy step, which added some of the entries twice, The net tax ended the same, however it showed the total income and deductions higher.

Good but buggy
I have been using Turbotax for a number of years and have been quite impressed. This year, it was still a useful tool for tax preparation and netfiling. That being said, the bug which prevented updates was annoying "Turbo Tax cannot be updated" Error Code TT3015. The same bug was reported by others online with no sign of a solution. I was able to Netfile in spite of the bug, but the experience leaves me wondering if he lack of the update would compromise the accuracy of my return.

I have been using for several years
This is a great product, however, this year, I found going back and forth between spouse documents for inputting info a bit disorganized from my end. I would prefer to put each of our details in separately and then review them jointly.

Use this every year
I love this program and have been using it for years. I only have one complaint...it's regarding the ONBEN - if /when requesting the Trillium amounts - I wish the program would automatically ask me if I want it monthly or as one lump payment. I have forgotten at times to check. Also, the schedule should automatically be generated if I have entered rent or property taxes - currently it doesn't show up until I start reviewing at the end of entering all the info.

Some improvements since '14
I liked that this year's version could accept rental property percentages between partners and not lose them. I did find that this version had an annoying habit of reassigning medical expenses to my wife, who has no income. It seems odd that the program can't deduce that if she pays no tax, she shouldn't get the medical expense deduction.
