Improving each year
TurboTax is improving each year but still has some quirks. For example, early on we are asked about importing from Quicken and if we don't "do not worry we will show you how later"... but later never came for me. Same as setting up a CRA account, "later" was after filing the return. As I do the taxes over several days, I forget about later and might skip it. Also, clicking on Help in any screen does not take you to the specific help page, you have to search for it. Still some room for improvement.

Navigation
Wish it was a bit cheaper.
Do not find it that easy to make corrections. Getting to exact place I want without clicking through many steps.
Very good at carrying forward data from previous years/

good but would prefer online for multiple returns
I had used the online product for the past 2 years to file for myself. However, this year I had to do my whole family's returns. This meant I had to buy the CD that only works on my desktop and could not use my macbook. In addition, I could not transfer the information from my online turbotax accounts to the desktop version. It was frustrating because I bought turbotax specifically because I had already been using it and thought my information would be transfered

Great to be able to do online out of country
Seems improved over last year, but still does not allow for capital gains to be divided and shared with spouse, so have to enter 1/2 for each. Online filing much simpler than before. On the whole I'm very pleased with Turbo Tax

Program did not allow splitting U.S. donations between my return and my wife's return. We both had U.S. income. I had to claim Canadian donations on her return and U.S. on mine, which resulted in a refund to me of $2,075 and her paying $4,033. This also resulted in a carry-forward of $3,000 of U.S. donations to 2016, which I did not want to do!!!

Generally does as advertised
Not perfect but TurboTax works e.g. have used for years and have successfully filed and defended returns. So apparently Intuit knows what they're doing.

Very easy to do your own tax return
Have used this way of preparing my taxes for 20 years.
The software is glitch free, but could use some input from actual users. To a tax professional short input descriptions are most likely obvious. To an overwhelmed amateur tax preparer context specific help would be most welcome. For example, when I ask a question like "where do I enter CCA recapture" I should be pointed to the form for this purpose. Right now this does not appear to be the case.

Disappointed in Premier!
The Standard program is easier to switch back and forth to check which return (on a couple) would be best suited for, i.e. donations, medical, etc. I found it hard to check back/forth for what was happening. I would not buy Premier again - my taxes work fine on Standard - I feel I wasted the $$$$ for Premier!

The investment section could be better for us. We have (actually, my wife has) a few stocks, etc., and wading through that section is always problematic...trying to decipher ACB, carry back or forward etc. Obviously I have little knowledge in this area.
The "help" would be more useful if it defined things accurately, instead of simply using the sample questions.

An Excellent Product
I have used Quicken, then Turbo Tax for many years and have found the program to be quite reliable and very easy to navigate. In fact the software is very user friendly and on the rare occasion where I have needed to obtain technical support I have found their technicians ready to assist and quite willing to spend any amount of time to solve the problem.
My only somewhat unhappy experience was when I needed to use their audit service one year and found the assistance quite unproductive and that my own expertise by far superseded that offered by this service.
Overall, great software and again highly reliable and easy to use.

Helpful software
Finding how to report net capital losses from other years could be made easier. Also, expanding gains/losses module so that adjusted cost base can be calculated with application would be beneficial. Otherwise, the application is quite helpful.

Great product for advanced or beginner
Turbo Tax has the tax part down but needs to continue development to make it more user friendly in addition to the changes seen in 2015. For example, the ability to choose a larger font size. Also, the help function could be improved, too many buried topics, not linked directly to a line item. Please also add to medical expenses the ability to add a "negative expense" for refunds received from more than one insurance company, where there is no additional expense outlay but there is money refunded for expense recorded on another line. As is now, detail of info is lost by requiring combining of info from various sources. Otherwise, I love the simplicity of the form fill and the ease of moving from form to form as my disorganized pile of receipts and other paper dwindles. Great for those of us who know what we are doing tax-wise but are not exactly organized! I do hope the link with Quicken data download remains despite the sale.
Thanks for a great product on the whole.

Turbo Tax 2015
Used the 2015 for 3 returns but had to fight with it to accept some entries & saving it for final calculation Have used turbo Tax for several years but for the first it was difficult to use Even when I could actually see the input on screen it did not save For the first time I had to go over the whole return manually to make sure all info was printed Very disappointed Normally would give you excellent based on past usage Terry

Easy to Use
Turbotax is great to use, intuitive and easy. Importing data from CRA, Finance institutions makes it lot easier to enter the RRSP contributions, dividends. Foreign Income entry for Tax credits is great. Hope Turbotax will resolve or make it more clear the entry related to number of days outside Canada while entering Foreign Slip. Overall experience of filing Taxes has been great and easier as compared to earlier years.

Enhancements
Enhancements need more work to make the flow work better.
I am referring to the NetFile process in particular. The interlink with the CRA is simpler but the program kind of dumps you afterwords instead of leading you to "save a file" & "print a file". I went in a big loop and got back to the page that said "Alright let's get started". It was not obvious that that is a multi function page and the term "Let's get started" put me off. I then realized that if I clicked "done with filing" it would move me on to "save" & "Print".
Main tax program would still work better if there was a "back" button -- in my opinion.

Support is helpful. When I am entering a box number on a form, it would be nice to have a "go to box #" option, since the numbers are not in numerical order. Sometimes I have to hunt for a box number.

Good but expensive
Have used many years. Always surprised at the cost. Too bad investments aren't in the Standard version which is a more reasonable annual cost for a one time benefit.
Have many times requested the capability to copy charity names from one year to the next but no response. Makes it easy for us non-typists. No real programming difference than bringing forward personal info or capital losses, etc. just the names, not the donations.

There is no need to enter actual, taxable and dividend tax credit. Just the actual (or taxable) is needed and the program should calculate everything from that.
