Trouble with partnerships
We sold a rental property last year. Specifically bought the permier edition to get thelp with that. Not being an accountant, I did not find it easy to work my way through that part of my submission. It wasnt clear how to enter a simple husband wife partnership.
Most of Turbo tax is pretty straight forward through the easy step, but this section was not. It could use a little work.

Help Section is harder to use than last year
I found the help section way harder to use than last year.
Way more awkward to flip between CRA help and other sources.

Review/Tips
Software is easy to use but the user still has to know what they want to claim and answer the correct questions to access the right form in easy steps. So, if you don't know what you can claim you would be lost.
During the review, the software should be smart enough to know what was filled in. It still asked you if it applies to you and make you second guess what the software had put in the first place. Some what confusing.

Used Turbo Tax for many Years
I found it confusing when I was asked if I wanted to send a file for 2013 and 2014. I already sent those files. Also not totally clear on the carrying charges. Over all I have used Turbo Tax for years. Pretty easy.

Good, in general
Good in most respects but it does not automatically split capital gains on real estate between partners. Also It does not apply capital losses from previous years until you get to the review stage and warnings.

Changes would be helpful
The overall program works fine except that as an experienced tax preparer it is somewhat frustrating to have to go through tax suggestions that are irrelevant. Also you can't print out your input of tax slips and other info so it is difficult to check that you have input correctly. A page summary of input would be nice.
Professional tax software allows you to input the US$ amounts for investments (ie T5slips) held in US$ accounts. Turbo tax forces you to manually convert each amount before entering it. Much more time consuming and potential for error.

medical expenses
Excellent program. One problem I had was with the suggestion to switch my medical expenses to my spouse to save money. I did, then my total tax bill increased and it was not that simple to switch the change back.

Turbo Tax Premier
I found the product easy to use and was able to help some of my elderly friends with their returns for 2015. Others only needed minimal guidance as they entered their own and family members information.
If I have a criticism it is that the allowable income level for the free returns of those of reduced means has remained fixed at $25,000 while most everything else has risen dramatically. It seems to me it should be either $30K or even $35K to more accurately reflect the effects of changing conditions.

Good but Confusing
Too many instructions are in conflict in the easy step mode. The directions cause one to be flipping back and forth especially in and where income splitting will be optimized and how one is filing and paying.

This does not give you your maximum charitable carry forward to the next tax year if you have excess donations .
There is no easy way to calculate this.
Also it is hard to get back to the previous page you where working on.
Turbo tax has done nothing to fix this over % years of complainting

User Friendly Tax Filing

VERY EASY TO USE. I'M AN ACCOUNTANT SO I USE THE FORMS METHOD. I DO RETURNS FOR ALL MEMBERS OF EXTENDED FAMILY & IT'S GREAT FOR SHOWING WHAT THE KIDS WILL GET NEXT YEAR FOR HST CREDITS AND ONT TAX CREDITS, EVEN THE UNIVERSAL CHILD BENEFIT. USED TURBO TAX FOR 8 OR 9 YEARS NOW. WOULDN'T CHANGE TO ANYTHING ELSE.

Problem with to the program
We've used Quick/Turbo Tax for 15 years, and this year we've had more problems than we've ever had before due to changes in how the program operates. However, overall it's still easier than doing it by hand.

Works good, if you have everything
This program has worked great for years. I find though that you should have all of your stuff prepared before hand. As there are lots of possible combinations, it is difficult to know if you have all of your documents ahead of time - the interview helps, but I usually come out with a thought, "did I get everything?"

Great Tool to minimize taxes
We have rental properties and some small investments both inside and outside RRSPs. Turbo Tax lets me move things around and see how it impacts my taxes in real time, so I can analyze in minutes what used to take me hours and always carried higher risk of errors with the spreadsheets I would design to help analysis. So much more free time now - and confidence that I didn't make any big mistakes

Disappointed with No XP
Refusal to allow Turbotax to run on Windows XP for 2016 is a deal breaker. Windows XP has more than enough capability to run tax calculations. Swarmy help audio and video is not required, which is the only reason to require advanced capability.
It should be the customer's choice when and how to upgrade their accounting system.
