No help Help
I found the Intuit Help not very helpful at all. It would be a lot more useful if it was context sensitive so that it would display help for the box the cursor was in when I selected help. Even when I tried to search some of the line items it had nothing and I finally went to the CRA website instead.

Suggestion
I like the product. Here's a suggestion to make it better:
It would help if the software could allow me to split capital gains / losses with my spouse. We have a joint investment account. Currently I have to manually calculate the amount of capital gains to apply to each of us based on our contributions. This is time consuming when we have many capital gain/ loss entries in a year. It would be simpler to enter the reported capital gain/loss and have the software calculate the splits.

You no longer show the values of the GST/HST Refund information so the client has to wait for RevCan to advise them. Please bring back this feature.

Good interface fairly easy to use
I would like to see more formal defintiions for certain items and perhaps more "This can only be claimed if: type of explanations. Especially under Rental income section.

Easy to use and follow
I have been using Turbo Tax for the past 7 years and I am very happy with the product. I find the quick tips and help functions to be very useful. I will definitely recommend this product to my family and friends!

Good Product
The software is good and allows one to test different tax options. One thing it doesn't do well is you have to skip the dependent if your child is transferring tuition deductions to you. It keeps bringing up an error message

Screen display too small
the screen display is too small. It is hard on aged people's eyes. The zooming feature is unfriendly to use. The popping up of enlarged screen and the closing of the pop up screen got me lost where I was. It would be better to enlarge the native screen instead of popping up a separate screen with enlarged text.

Excellent Value!!! Please continue to offer the Turbo Tax Suite bundle of this Turbo Tax software with Quicken Home & Business software. This makes it very convenient for your loyal (15yrs+) Quicken users to update both products in one purchase. I used to buy Quick/TurboTax every year and only update Quicken every ~3-4yrs. Since Intuit has offered these two products in this suite I now just update them both annually. It's convenient and a great value, why wouldn't you update them both when they're offered in a bundled suite!

2014 Turbo Tax First-timer
I really liked the format, function icons and display! I also appreciated that help was provided if needed, and that the tax questions had very straight-forward language. The only problem I had was trying to find "political donations" concerning the appropriate line to enter them on. I think I may have mixed that one up, which may delay a refund. Otherwise, it was easy, very quick, and I'd recommend it to any adult with at least high school education.

Good news and bad news
TurboTax is very helpful for organizing the necessary documents and papers and for effortlessly completing laborious and mysterious calculations. On the other hand it can be a complete pain if you want to do something unexpected, such as attributing an expense to the other spouse. Also if you make a mistake and check an unnecessary box early in the interview it can seem impossible to get rid of the forms related to that box.

Mostly positive
Took a while to learn how to navigate quickly, but once learned it was easy. I do not think the rental income worksheet was detailed enough, but I did manage to find a way around its shortcomings.

field override not allowing NETFILE
I overrode some fields when I tried to optimize my tax payment using optimizer, and then NETFIE my tax return. I was not allowed to NETFILE unless I cancel my overrides. I followed the cancellation instruction but I was not allowed to NETFILE asking my to cancel my overrides. I spent a long time retrying but still failed. At last after I had gone to individual forms to remove all the overrides, I was able to NETFILE my return.
Intuit should fix this bug in the next years' product.

Some assembly required
The software provides a good foundation for an ''intermediate" level return. However, expect to still do some of research on your own. The help screen will lead you to tax publications to facilitate your search but its up to you to find your particular situation. I have not tried the chat with an expert yet.
