Turbo Tax
Like the filing improvements this year. TT was easy to use as always in entering the tax information. Only disappointment was the two times I went to update and the update crashed out leaving me on the support line for a bunch of time.

Nice improvements
I like the new format for the last page just before I Netfiled. The large type got my attention and is laid out in a very easy to read & understand format. I think it would be nice if a "back" button could be incorporated for moving between forms, like in a internet browser. It would make it easier for me to move between the forms (sometimes) rather than always using a pop up menu.
As always, a nice product to use.

Slighty confusing
I have used Turbo tax for a couple years now and will always refer it to my friends. However, I did find that the self-employed fields were very confusing
Maybe I am not familiar with them. But I felt that the language used could've been clearer and more simply explained

Good, but needs improvement
I found entering and checking investment income confusing, especially joint stuff. There should be a worksheet that's friendly for joint capital gains.
Navigation at times confusing.

Very good but can be annoying
I have been using Quicktax, and its successor Turbo Tax for over 20 years. And I have kept all my data electronically. The problem is that when you transfer the data files to a new computer, you have to re-install the original software. Because it tries to be cute and probably snoops your hard drive and CPU serial numbers, it won't let you re-authorize what you have paid for. But I'm not trying to reinstall for the current tax year. I may just want to pull up an old return to see what was submitted, or I may want to file an amended return (permissible for up to four years). But if I'm using a new machine, I'm stuck. And older versions of the software didn't allow you to save a pdf file, so you have NO WAY OF SEEING WHAT YOU DID.
Please- let's be smart about this. Look at the date. If I'm trying to reinstall software from 2010, do you really care if it's the same machine?

The only change I would like to see is that you create a link between help file and the actual form that data is entered on. The help file will say something like "enter this data on line 466 of form xyz. it would be a great help if you could click on that line number and it would take you to the right form and line.

Awesome program
This program is awesome. Took me through everything in steps. If I didn't understand anything I would type it in help and it would show me and even provided short links to the form locations. Love it.

Good but more links with info would be helpful
I liked the WS in general, but I still think there's room for improvement, specially when it comes to terms that aren't very easy or evident to understand.
More hyperlinks to definitions with examples would be good.

Good Software
The software is simple and straight forward, but I often feel that I am missing out on a lot of potential tax savings without being asked a lot of questions that could help me save. I think Turbo Tax could offer hints to more potential tax savings opportunities for the consumer. The program is basic and straight forward and easy for anyone to use.

Turbo Tax Premier was easy to use with the forms. I did encounter difficulty on several occaions when opening the program. It gave me the message that Turbo Tax has encountered a problem and must close. It always opened on the second try.

Better than the printed forms
We understand that the package is set up for every user, and that's why there's parts we can't use, eg. RRSPs. We went through it once, just to make sure. There were a couple of places where we found it wasn't too user-friendly, eg interest expenses, which we put in twice, because we thought it had been omitted as we couldn't see it on the screen. The user really needs to have some visual mechanism to confirm that items have been entered and shall be retrieved.

NetFile Confusing
The Netfile is confusing. The initial step is a lot better than last year, but the page that one goes back to is confusing. It gives a confirmation that the netfile was done - but also asks how you want to file... The user is left with the uncertainty about whether or not the return was actually filed...

Confusing when printing & filing
Have used Turbo Tax for years but changes in area of printing and expecially filing area are confusing. Prefer getting a printout as in previous years pkg. indicating it has been sent and then the printout that it has been successfully received.

Good Value for Money
Do the first return using the all of the step by step tools. Any returns after the second one can be easily by navigating through the forms (if you are even semi-experienced at preparing your own return).

Worse then last year
Im not sure what prompted you to enlarge the font size to one that a 90 year old needs to use, in order to read it. It makes it frustrating to have to scroll down in order to tick off all the boxes and have to scroll side ways just to continue to the next step. Not pleased with that adjustment, the rest of the program is consistently good as the previous years.

Moving Expense
I found the moving expenses very hard to use as I moved from A to B for a job then back to A for the same job and it would not take the moves easily due to the addresses.

Good
Nice software. Could use some improvement with determining if a person is eligible for a credit or not. Currently you have to look through help menus and forum chats to determine if you are eligible. I would think that it is possible to write that right in to the software so eligibility can be determined as you go.

Ok, not the best.
I had a warning regarding my address--had it changed from last year. When I went to check the address, I was unable to see the form. As we filed as spouses, I could only see the address on my husband form. It was correct.
I did not like having to put in his t4, then my t4, then his t4p and my t4p. I would prefer to fill out my return then his.
As I only fill out a spousal and one more return, I think it is a little over priced.

Very good except...
I use the forms method as it is much faster. Which means that I use the forms pop up window a lot. However, the pop up window should be made wider so that the full name of each form appears and also the window should be deeper so that you can scroll through much quicker.
Second item would be a print screen function for the netfile confirmation number. Maybe there is one but I did not find it easily and thus resorted to writing it down.
Other than these two minor issues, the software is very easy to use and has a lot of help features.

Hope we don't have the same error as last year!
Used it again this year, hope that I don't have the same error as last year, as everyone that I know that was married and used program last year got audited and had to pay between $600 and $1200 due to an error in one of the calculations related to the program. If it happens this year, I will never use again!!!!
