What's Missing???
I like Turbo Tax! However, I was a little frustrated this year (5th Year using software) because I couldn't do a detailed annual summary comparison of previous years because the response from the software was "no previous years info available" ...I always carry forward previous years info...hope you fix that glitch!

When doing the review you have to go back to forms to fix errors and omissions but cant return to wher you were in review and have to start all over again

Great tax software, a few issues
No major complaints, so here's a little wish list:
1. In the top right showing refund, please show in tiny font the breakdown for each person so I can see if one person has a balance owing.
2. For rental income, why can't it automatically fill out your spouse as the other 50% owner. I always have to re-enter the name and address, please make this an option.

Good product as usual
This is about the fourth year I have used Turbotax and the second I have used the rental property version. It is good, it works. I like that I can switch to forms view, as I still like to and sometimes need to see the account numbers that are not displayed in easy step format. I used the email help function for the first time and my inquiry was addressed promptly and correctly the first time, within 24 hours. Great service!

Easy to use
I was able to get help with a telephone call...no waiting. I had lost information from previous years due to my computer crashing. I found out how I could still access my unused charitable donations from previous years and use them this year. big help...

Haven't done my own return in years. Tired of paying too much money to have it prepared. Did both mine and my husband's return this year, will include the parents next year. What a savings.

Don't ever do taxes by hand again
I've been using Turbotax for years, and it has made doing taxes much simpler, even though I have a complicated situation with dependents, investments, and income properties. One of the things I like is that you can play with some choices and the program will immediately show you what the impact is going to be on your, and your spouse's, bottom line (refund?).
I didn't rate it 5/5 this year because my wife and I separated, and I ran into some minor problems at the beginning when, because I put separated, the program wouldn't transfer my ex's information from last year. Although I tried to get around this problem, including calling the help line, in the end I was advised that I had to start from scratch and re-enter my, my spouse's, and our dependents information.

Navigating not clear
I had to search around some to find the page where I could change my RRSP contribution limits. During the questionaire it said that I could easily change the values later but it was not so easy to find and navigate to the proper form.

Trustworthy product
I have used Quick Tax and Turbo Tax for over 10 yrs and will continue to use this product. It makes filing my taxes easy and simple. Love the easy step process. Takes all the work out of my hands. I fill in the info and it calculates it all for me.

Long time user
I have been using TurboTax and QuickTax before, for many years. It's very thorough and covers all of the tax issues I have.
The product has not had any huge improvements since changing to TurboTax. The main "beef" I have with the program is the font size used through-out. There is no way to make the font size larger within the program. This would be a nice improvement.
Otherwise, the program works and filing my tax return is seamless and easy.

TURBO TAX REVIEW
This program worked very well for me. The only negative thing would be that when looking for help, the online group is almost useless and perhaps could be very misleading as the answers are all opinions given by amateurs. What's the point?

Actually assists both review and filing
We have used accounting "services" for years but only recently have we realised how much of a "disservice" accountants really provide... TurboTax has answers to our questions and forces us to actually have a review of our taxes, as opposed to "thinking" someone charging multiple hundreds of dollars does anything more than filling in the blanks without asking questions or reviewing the information.
I thought using accounting services would make my life easier... Now I know that TurboTax makes my life easier! I have signed-up for automatic annual renewals!!!

Rental Income
I like everything but the rental income/expenses has way too many steps. This needs to be simplified especially for co-owners of multiple properties, it takes way too long to enter the information for EACH owner.

Easy to Use
I have found that Turbo Tax is user friendly and easy to move around in the program. I have been using this program for at least 10 years both here in B.C. and in Montreal Que. I have never had any problems with the returns I have filed. I will continue to use Turbo Tax and will recommend it to friends.

I've used Quicktax and Turbotax since the beginning if times with ease of use and accurate results.
1 complaint I have is this:
when I report rental income which is split 50/50 with my spouse, Turbotax does not populate my spouses fields. I need to do that manually. This should be asily corrected for next year! I'll be watching for it!

GOOD PRODUCT
This product helped me complete my complicated tax return in 2 days. However when I did some imports from quicken to turbotax, not all transations imported so I had to manually enter them. Very annoying. Also Quicken and turbotax not compatible in the sense that Quicken capital gains reports have gross proceeds but really show net proceeds i.e. proceeds minus commission. Turbotax schedule 3 requests total proceeds = total proceeds from sale before commissions paid. So when import was done, proceeds had to be manually edited. Also when importing us$ stock trades, it asked for exchange rate however quicken has the trades already converted to canadian dollars so had to do the conversion again in turbotax.

TURBO TAX
Turbo Tax is very user friendly. I liked being able to click on the pop ups to read additional information on each page pertaining to what you are entering.
I will use this software again for my 2013 tax return.
