Got the job done
This software gets easier to use every year. I was pleased with the easy steps. I would like to have been able to print the detailed tax summary while preparing the return but it wouldn't print for me.

A pretty good product overall. There were a couple problems where I had to enter data in a form instead of the easy step route but the help files were useful.

Pricing
I have a beef about misleading advertising. TurboTax encourages its customers to sign up for automatic renewal and assures customers of preferred pricing among other advantages; however, automatic renewal costs the customers significantly more than making a retail purchase of TurboTax. Why is this so?

Profile
The profile questions are not clear and mixed with employment income when there is no employment except pension. Should not be any employment income showing up. Reference to forms that do not exist and no information on them, etc. Not as crisp as previous years. Also circular for optimization around and around even if letting Turbo Tax do the optimizing. Investment - stocks or shares is not very friendly.

Screen Images
Software easy to use BUT screen images and font size is VERY hard to read, even on a 21 inch HD monitor. Not sure why developers would pick greyfont text with a font size of less than 6. .... this needs to be fixed in next generation.

Ease of Use
For individuals, the ease with which you can prepare even relatively complex returns with Turbo Tax makes it worth the cost. Of, course, there are situations which call for a tax professional, and it is not good to go too far afield in preparing your own return. But, for 75-80% of us thios works just fine and is about $200 less than my accountant would charge.

Turbo Tax
We couldn't do the tax return without Turbo Tax.
A few minor points. The dividends are being added. Actual, plus marked up dividend plus the dividend tax credit. This is very confusing but it does not appear on the forms.
I find the box where you find forms too small. If it showed more of the forms at a time it would make them easier to find.

Easy to use

Easy to use
It is a great way of doing your taxes. Simple and easy to follow. Could have some improvements related to residents living in a province and working on another province as in my case, I live in Quebec and work in Ontario. Some stuff gets transfered, but no explanion why. Sometimes it makes you wonder why some stuff gets transfered and others do not.
Just explanation people... thats all I am asking. :)

Returns enhanced!
Access to knowledgable advisors is easy and relatively quick. My questions were answered to my satisfaction and clarified any doubts I had regarding applicability to the situation. In particular, areas of relevance were pointed out that I had not considered, which resulted in getting several hundred dollars more in the return ie rental property and student tuition transfer elegbility.

I've used Turbo Tax in the past, switched to Ufile Last year (that was a mistake) and returned to TT for 2012. My only issue with TT is that splitting investment income and stock sales with my spouse in a joint scenario is labourious because each split has to be calculated and entered individually. Let's hope a new version includes stock splitting as is now done for T3s and T5s. Nd thanks to CRA for eliminating the WAC!!

Get stronger reading glasses
The font is very small, and there is no way of increasing the size. TurboTax needs to put a tab for "text size" in the View menu. Also, "CTRL +" does not work with Turbo Tax to increase font size on a PC. There is no "Zoom" tab either.

Good program that lacks some enhancements
Turbo tax is easy to use. A useful function that I found lacking was the ability to split Capital gains, from a joint spousal account, between spouses. The capital gains entries have to be duplicated and re-entered manually for each person. Ideally, Turbo tax should determine the optimum split between spouses for these joint capital gains.

So much better than paper
I find Turbo Tax easy to use, and helpful to follow throughout the myriad of forms necessary to prepare a return that include various sources of income (different T-slips), deductions and tax credits (don't want to miss any of those). The summary is a very helpful tool, comparing last year and this year is a great check.
My only issue was the automated dash put into the address section for the apt no. which caused a error at the netfile stage that needed to be removed (but was not noticed as I did not enter it) before I could proceed with netfiling.

Turbo Tax Easy Step
I found Turbo Tax easy to use with the step-by-step instructions. My only complaint is that at the end when it gives the list to use to show you how to put your returns together it doesn't list some forms that has been printed out by Turbo Tax. I don't know whether to mail them or discard as there are no dollar values on them.
But for the record I send them anyway.
Also, since the forms are condensed it is hard to know what to do with the Ontario portion of OAS & RRSP contributions as they were always attached to the Ontario forms. Now that it is just as line I just attached them on the bottom of the sheet that the rest of the receipts etc. are attached.

Keep older users in mind
I have been using your product for a few years and it has become easier to navigate as I become more accustomed to it. (As with most computer - related tasks!) i do like the product. One thing to keep in mind though, as the boomers (a growing segment of your market, I presume) age, is the size of the fonts you use... when possible could you choose a size that is not too small??? (Your young 'techies' might not be aware of the vision changes older people experience - yet:-) !)
