Accurate and detailed, BUT the type size is tiny and hard to read. Some cells are typed against a grey background {almost unreadable}, and in easy step the balance owing showing in the upper right corner in red was unreadable. There is so much white space on the page that there is no excuse for making reading the material so difficult.

Each year, more for less
It seems that every year the basic return package has fewer and fewer ordinary options.
Almost everyone doing his or her own return has SOME investment income.
Greedy.

Easy to Use
Main problem I had with it is due to old age in that I had problems reading the font size - perhaps an option that would display a larger font would be possible.

Easy step is such a breeze to use, but needs a companion part to calculate investment gains and losses. Some topics were hard to research, such as capital gains and also dealing with volunteer work that gives out an honorarium.

Certainly worth trying it.
I didn't find this product easy to use, but because I took the time to do my previous year's return first (in the same version), I was able to work through the return by basically trying to copy what an expert did the previous year. Because I came out to within 30 cents of what he did, I had the confidence to do this year's on my own. It took me hours and hours, but I'm happy I did it. I have a better understanding of what an income tax return is all about now, and the effects of my different deductions and income, etc. I'm no further ahead regarding saving the money that I would normally pay an expert because of the hours it took me to do it. I was able to do both of my sons' returns also (again, first copying last year's) so feel quite pleased with myself.
I would recommend people at least try it, a learning experience if nothing else.

Scrolling
It would be helpful if one could navigate to specific pages under each step instead of scrolling through all those pages till you get to the one you want - page tabs along the top or bottom of the screen would be appreciated so much.

TAX FILING SIMPLIFICATION

Printing process
The options for printing tax forms in the final printing and filing stage are uneven. In one process i was given the choice of printing selected forms, which was good. In another I was presented with a general "do you wish to print your federal tax return", without the possibility of selecting forms. Having that choice would eliminate the necessity of printing duplicate information between spouse, in our case rental forms, charitable donations.

Note that if you are doing two returns jointly , when you enter a schedule for one person you have to enter everything for the other person.

Pricing for on line purchase
I like the product and bought it on line early to get the best price. Direct from intuit. My friend bought the same package retail and paid less. If on line early is not going to be the best price why subscribe?

The product is good overall. I find it frustrating that Turbo Tax does not have a print page button for the tax summary and that when you print your return, the program prints the first page first and the last page last thus having the first page on the bottom of the printed return. This means that you have to reorganize the return.

Premier not worth the extra price
Sorry to report that the premier edition does not any value over basic when it comes to investments. i was very dissapointed in this product. A way to add value is to have a tool to input the ACB of individual stocks and roll the forward every year.
Also, when netfilling it would be beneficial to have the date displayed in the same format as the goverment website.
I would recommend the basic version.

highest refund
An improvement to Turbo tax would be to show all 8 combinations of Donation, CCP and medical allocation between tax payer. Every year I go through this process and get a different optimal answer. If you are true to your guarantee of the highest refund this needs to be a standard feature. For my return the variance in allocation results in a range from $555 refund to $1028.

Fonts...larger writing please
Turbo Tax is a great product. Only thing is missing is the option to adjust the font size. I found the printing very small and was disappointed to see that I was not able to adjust it. ...maybe for the 2012 taxation Year.

Better Every Year
This tax program can keep all your tax records securely, and carry them forward year-by-year. If you file your family's taxes, there is not likely a better purchase for Canadians. It anticipates virtually all situations, and gives you second chances to correct your files, and improve your effort to file your taxes properly. Excellent purchase.

Excellent Tax Software Package
Turbo Tax (Premier Edition) is a wonderful software package that allows you to easily file your Income Tax Return yourself. The interview process is easy to understand and comprehensive enough to determine your exact tax situation. The information polling screens are clear and concise. Each step is clear and easy to understand. You know where you are and what you are doing throughout the entire package. It made filing multiple returns as easy as 1-2-3. I would recommend Turbo Tax to anyone who wants to file their own Tax Return but has been afraid to try it. This package works!
