TurboTax2011 easy to use
I found TurboTax 2011 very easy to use. It took me less than an hour to input and submit my taxes to the government.
I intend to use TurboTax next year to file my taxes.

Helps
This program is a great help. For one thing, it does all the arithmetic.
The interviews work quite well. For the taxpayer who has absolutely no clue about our income tax system, then it might not be so helpful.

Good tax program
I am think I got back the maximum allowed. I used the optimization wizards were ever I could to max out. You still have to watch what the suggestions are because it was off in one case.

Good easy step
There is one minor drawback - the print of each step is too small / too light to be read on the screen easily, suggest using bolder font

Taxes were easy this year
I found this year to be the easiest yet, I especially liked the live question and answer panel, I used it a few times and found it very helpful.

Good, not great
I found it simple to use, and for the most part it was clear, but this was my first time with rental income and though the easy step process walked me through it, I expected more helpful tips. I found it a little light on the hints and tips, and didn't really feel that it made any suggestions of deductions I could make which I think would have been far more handy to help me get my maximum return.

The product is easy to use in easy step...very user friendly.
I originally used the standard version but was persuaded to upgrade to premium to help record some REIT shares I have. However I could find no difference over the standard version.

What about Mac?
I have been using this product for five years, and have never had a false return. My only beef is that I have to do this on a Windows compatible computer. Next year I won't have access to one, so I will have to look for a product that works with my Mac.

why don't you support Chrome?
ok tax software, especially when i see some of the bad tools my friends use. but why force me to use Microsoft's Internet Explorer? Give me a choice. about 1/3rd of web users use Chrome in Canada; on the weekends it is sometimes the most used browser

Good
I have a hard time with computers. Today, I was able to complete my return in under 2 hrs. This is good. For the most part I would rather walk away from something than deal with the imaginary. I have to file a return so like it or not I have to complete the program. To this day I have been able to file my returns every year using your programs.

Turbo Experience
Have used Intuit tax products for at least 10 years. Each year the program gets a little better---or I'm just getting used to it.
I miss having a remind sent to me when the new program is available and the special offers that accompanied an on-line purchase. Signing up for the auto-renewal is not an acceptable alternative to me.
But that is a marketing thing that could /should be considered. I am very happy with the tax prep product.

Carry over items from previous returns
Every year I have the same tax receipts. I wish I could just change the numbers rather than having to enter the name of each institution. That would save a lot of time.

Clunky, but works.
Good overall app, and it gets the job done. The navigation is a little clunky, and the optimization doesn't. If you make a mistake like setting, or removing an override, whatever that is, it makes a big deal out of it and you have to crawl around and fix something you probably didn't want or mean to touch to begin with. What was all that about anyway?
Not a lot of compatibility with the previous year, if you did it on line, and downloaded the app to your hard drive this year. You have to start all over again.
Still needs work, but hey, it's a tax app, and if it makes taxes doable, then it's worth the money.

Love TurboTax
I had to purchase the premier because we had purchased an investment property. I didn't find it easy to use in this case, not sure if I entered everything properly, they could have made this section a lot more user friendly for first time investment property owners. The rest of the program that is available on a standard version works great and is easy to use.

Overly complex for filing for deceased spouse
My spouse died last year. TurboTax does not permit filing the returns jointly in such a case, but requires information which is not available until the other return is complete. This means a lot of jumping back and forth between the returns. This should be a much simpler process.

Turbotax Premier did the job
A better title might be that Turbotax enabled ME to do the job! It is a good program with a logical flow that allowed me to do the tax returns for my wife, daughter, In-Laws and Father! A wide set of circumstances but it handled all of them equally well.
I recommend this program whole-heartedly.

Capital Gains
You need to make capital gains and losses easier to put in. Also you need to make it possible for partners to split gains and losses. More people are investing in joint investment accounts

I really like using Turbo Tax and have used it and its prarent product for many years. I like that I can enter the data for my spouse and myself in an orderly manner and that the program questions me should I make an error. The checks at the end of the program are reassuring.
