Marginal rate calc still wrong
The detailed summary page is still displaying an incorrect marginal tax rate. The average rate is correct but the marginal rate is very obviously wrong. e.g., in my case, says 26% and should say 40%. It has been wrong for the past few years. The EasyStep process is relatively straightforward, and importing capabilities saves a lot of data entry.

Good Product
If you have complicated trading income you may want to consider a more complex software package but for basic returns with some rental income this is a good package

Pelase update the desktop version
Still cumbersome in many ways. Can we not have a T slip summary to check off.
please use Windows default keys (for Print)
So may screens!!!
Once you have gone through the endless questions, can we just get to what we need e.g. Netfile, print, etc.

I cannot able to convert my foreign dividends from English pounds to Canadian dollars. previously, I entered my dividends in GBP and entered exchange rate. However, this year, the country list only has USA, country 1 and 2. I cannot enter Great Britain under Country 1 or 2. I have to manually convert to C$

It Still Works
Mostly very straightforward and solid; one thing that I don't understand is how T2022 tuition transfers work. TurboTax accepts the tuition paid but the calculation of the maximum that can be transferred is opaque and makes no obvious sense (for one kid, it allowed the full amount, for the other, zero). Software which disallows things without making it obvious why is annoying.
Also the whole thing has a feel of constantly bombarding me with tips and warnings and ads and upsells and things I don't care about. I feel like it would work just as well with half the amount of pages to click through.

Rental Income Section Largely Useless
I purchased the Premier version because it was supposed to help with my wife's rental income statement. However, the dialogue did not appear to allow me to enter several pieces of important information we received from the accountant, so I had to do overides, which then meant that I couldn't NETfile. I could have done that with the standard version and saved myself $30.

Hard to work with
For whatever reason, substantially more difficult to work with than previous years. First, the program refused to recognize a partially-filled form in the TurboTax/2019 folder, and it had to be copied to the desktop. Then it got out of the usual step-by-step development, and I found I had to pretty much go through the program in a self-directed way.

Wish to print Summary of return but unable to. Would be helpful for reviewing to check if all data was remembered and included.
Prints a lot of pages with nothing on them.
If try to fill both spouses returns at same time program automatically income splits and can not correct. Had to start over with individual files.
No replies when asked how to correct. No phone # contact. Guess one has to pay extra for help.

This year I have spend many hours on completing my tax return. Prior years TurboTax was much better. Not enough of explanation on fields; this made more confusing.

Disappointed
I've been using TurboTax for many years. Unfortunately, this year a bug in the program related to form T2091 which several people reported on in the community forums was not fixed and prevented me from net filing my return. The support staff worked with me for an hour to try and get it to work but to no avail. I'll have to reconsider my allegiance to TurboTax in the future.

Not very intuitive
I had to use the live assist option this year for the first time. I found the desktop version for 2019 to be less intuitive and more confusing than any previous years.

Used Turbo Tax for 10 years
I have used Turbo tax for a long time both for my wife and myself. I found it harder this year as the interactive menu esp. for declaring joint property sale is hard to use.
This need to be fixed. No sense to say , we get to this later. Do it while we are working on the program.

Easy but buggy
There are still errors in TT that have not been corrected by programmers for years. It's frustrating that I have to override some lines because of bugs.

Usable & Accurate
Turbo Tax works well for basic tax needs. It's intuitive and saves you from making mistakes. However, I am a dual US Canadian citizen living in Canada with a pension from Sweden. Turbo Tax has difficulty with the complexity of various issues like owning foreign property on the T776 and depreciation. Or how much income to claim on US W-2s etc. I wish Turbo Tax had a right click information option to see where the calculations are derived and/or to help fill in the fields in extraordinary circumstances. The "help" option is useless.

Cumbersome Tax Forms
Some of your tax forms like the T5013 are very convoluted as the boxes are all out of sequence. It makes it very difficult to enter the data from the T-slip. There is no reason for this haphazard sequencing. Fix this one and others like it. All boxes should be shown and all in sequential order whether needed or not. Otherwise, frustration arises trying to find a box that may not be there, but shows up on the T-slip.

Not Best Software
I feel that there should be more tutorial. ie. what to do if you have to go back to input to correct an input error or override error. Why does Turbo Tax wait until it interfaces with Netfile before it advises you of errors.You can't go back at that point!

Lacks tax treaty info on UK earnings (in British pounds). Need more Moving Expenses moves (only allows for 2 moves per year).

Simplification needed
Selection of NetFiling or Manual submission should be permitted at beginning. If manual is selected then all pertinent schedule should automatically be printed . The process I went through even with the help of a fantastic agent wasn't pleasant.

Files Again
After all these years you still have not fixed the save feature of this program. I continue to get "File Not Found" and have to save my returns to my desktop. Look on the forum and you will see this is a common complaint. Please address this issue.

turbotax premier review
Extremely difficult to determine where to enter German pension income for line 11500, then deduct of line 25600. Had to call in to get help. Have this trouble every year. Very fustrating and time consuming.

Not really user friendly
This year the January download had a software bug that took over 4 months to correct. The easy-step method is NOT useful if one is filing RPP claims for repayment of amounts paid for past service prior to 1990.

Glitchy this year
Normally, I am very pleased with the product. The Easy Step method worked wonderfully. And I've been using it for 5 years now. However, this year, the software kept skipping steps. I had to keep going back and finding the sections the software skipped and run through those parts of the wizard a bit out of sequence. A little frustrating. Hopefully, they get it fixed for next year.

not user friendly
you'd think that TT usability would improve over the years. Not IMO. If an omission is made during the EasyStep process, it then becomes extremely difficult to correct, in some cases, impossible. Also, trying to "undo" "test" calculations is problematic. For example I ran one for Moving Expenses, after which I deleted all the data. The T1-M form stayed in my list of forms which I was forced to send to CRA when I filed, even though it was blank. There was NO WAY to remove it - I tried everything. Also, I went to the "Help" function to look up "Personal Use Property" for added guidance, as suggested in EasyStep. "Help" did not help, at all. In all, I find TT quite frustrating to use. I will look for alternatives.

Very poor Inital Screen Layout
When starting a new return, the option to load previous year's data CANNOT BE SEEN ON THE SCREEN. If you do not scroll down to select this option, you will have to load all your personal data. This is not a great imposition but you will lose other data, most importantly " loss carry forwards" for capital losses. This is really poor layout design and has FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS FOR THE USER.

Not much value
I have used the basic TurboTax for years because it is efficient and easy to use. The last couple of years I have used the Premier version because it is supposed to help with investments and pensions. However, I don't really see much difference between the basic and premier versions - i.e. not much evidence of what I am paying double for. So I can't really say it is worth it.

SPLIT PENSION INCOME
This feature is next to useless. One needs to skip back and forth between a partners return to get the figures from selected lines on the T-1 . Why can't you have one input page that asks what you are trying to accomplish and have BOTH returns reflect this. I have wasted so much time on this . I could have done a paper return in a quarter of the time and still not finished.
FRUSTRATED.
With more spouses dying as well, I'm doing a friend's return, her first year end as a widow. The SOFTWARE is simply not helpful. And Again frustrating. I'm a multi year Turbo tax user but it makes me question who is writing this software.
