needs refinement
Needs to clarify codes to input for T1135 (Country codes, Individual type #). Also T1135 column "Cost" at end of Year should state "Market Value" at end of Year.
Also can you please make EasyStep faster? I end up going into Forms to speed up the process & wind up duplicating inputs. Your software should catch the inputs under Forms & transfer it into EasyStep seamlessly.

ERROR
in 2019 things went fine, however in 2018 Turbo Tax calculated an error in my CPP thus turbo tax stated my return was much higher than i was entitled to. I had to pay it back. I sad thing is I purchase audit defense and they were useless and i got no help from this service.

Too many glitches
I am a former CA and I know how to prepare income tax, and I use TurboTax to save time and for the ease of all the calculations. This year, I found a number of glitches that created issues for me that I haven't experience in prior years. I was unable to click on the language preference - I had to update it during the review. For a number of tax credits, marital status was assumed to be "single", even though the marital status was married in the identification area. Many of the clicks I needed to make to change the information would not work. I had a LOT of trouble with the program this year.

Hidden calculations
Amounts on the Federal and Quebec forms were different, and it was very difficult to see where the error arose (probably in copying Federal slips into the Quebec calculation, when in fact the Quebec slips had different readings). Also the software ceased to work for a day or two. Last year the Basic software was unable to submit electronically to Quebec, but this year the Premium did work.

TTax can be improve
1) we should be able to print pages to work on 2) there should be more pages for foreign tax credit 3} it should be easier to find out where a number was calculated 4)form 1135 #7, was designed by someone who has never invested 5) the technology used is obsolete 6) there should be aa way to save a duplicate while we work on the return

Confusing for stock info
Information entered for stock, capital gains and losses is confusing on this software. It often asks same information again. I am not sure i will use this product next year.

Not user friendly
Unfortunately this year's Turbo Tax seems to be less friendly than previous years. It is awkward to download forms from CRA and you are never quite sure if you stored the current tax return for downloading next year. I have used Turbo Tax (Quicktax) for years but it has gotten too frustrating and almost impossible to call someone with a simple question that this could be my last year.

Not worth the extra $
I have been using Turbotax standard for years, doing rental income statements along with T slips. I thought the Premier version would be more helpful with the rental income statement. I found it to be no extra help at all. I just paid extra for nothing :(

OK but poor T5 and CNIL handling
Generally good, but on each year's NOA, the CRA states my CNIL (cumulative net investment loss). There is nowhere this can be entered; TurboTax expects this had been tracked with some long complex form, instead of just using the number stated by CRA.
In the T5s, if I allow it to import from CRA, I get a list of each trading transaction and their amount. But none of them contain the security, the type of security. I have to match those up by dollar value which is tedious and ridiculous.

Good program
Sort of easy to use but hard to find good explanation or to back track and find out where the numbers originated from. Seems to be a flaw in Medical when you determine how much you can claim. Should read: Lessor of 3% of your Net Income or $2302.00 not $1,728.00. Calling Turbo is not a realistic option.Have to do your own research to get true explanations

poor help file details re refund of tax US stocks
UNable to get specific info while filling in my US investments forms T5008 ,etc, after which I can't see how to apply my Tax Treaty Exemption amount or where to access how to apply for a US Taxes paid for a refund.

I used to like Turbotax but not as good as 2017.
The box numbers are not same as Federal box or investment box numbers. You need to improve or we will not buy again. So many my friends said same thing. Thanks.

Easy step does not produce all the required Forms
After completing the profie, the easy step method does not produce all the necessary schedules which need to be filled out. I had to go to the Forms and obtain the appropriate forms to be filled out.i.e., there are some gaps in the easy step process.

TurboTax -- only OK
Considering the complexity of the Canada tax code, TurboTax does do a pretty good job of guiding you through the maze. However, it has a major glitch when it comes to downloading T5008 forms, which is probably not entirely TurboTax's fault, but it is a PITA. I did, however, finally get an answer from one of TurboTax's tax experts. Second, it is extremely difficult to contact TurboTax on matters such as billing. For instance, I signed up for Audit Defence, never received the information package (still haven't) and spent over an hour trying to contact Canada TaxResources, which may (or may not) handle audit questions for TurboTax.

Everything worked until I needed to get into Worksheets. Where does it tell you how to access them. So I found it eventually.

Whaat is the big deal?
OK, what's so special about the Premier version VS the old basic version I have always used.
I expected a T1135 form that was larger, so I could list all of my foreign investments.... but nope - the same as the old basic return.
I view this Better version, for investors to be a lot of hype, with very little substance to justify the higher price.
I won't spend the extra amount next year - maybe I'll be looking at your competitors

Help Menu
The HELP search menu this year was basically useless. I typed in a topic to get help and it simply could not find what I was looking for. Google was far more helpful. I've been a customer since 2006. Why should I pay a premium for a product that does not answer my questions.

Help button is useless
I changed principle residence in 2019. The form T2091 and Worksheet is very confusing. Same address appeared on duplicate forms and Turbo wouldn't let me fix it. Tried Help button which is useless, it only provided obvious CRA answers. The "HELP" should provide more on the Turbo Tax use information.

Had a lot of difficulty understanding the different options under line 105 on a T4A and didn't find the help screen or community answers particularly helpful. Looks like this area has been an ongoing issue for a few years. Hopefully it can get enhanced or improved. Otherwise good product

Turbo Tax is not made for Mac. Using Turbo Tax on a Mac requires parallel for Windows and for Mac users who are used to speed and simplicity this is certainly not the answer. Using similar software on a Mac would take less than 5% of the time it does using windows. That is why Mac users don<t use Windows or anything Microsoft for a computer. I realize that we are spoiled with a Mac, and if there was a Mac version of Turbo Tax, like in the U.S. it would be a pleasure instead of dreading doing it this way.

Same Old Software
Very easy if you have simple income and as a student. Not so simple if you have many claims. Medical expense claim is NOT helpful, as well as care giver amount. "HELP" is not helpful. I had to actually read the instructions on CRA website.
