Needs a glossary
I tried looking up "carrying charges" definition and "Face Value" and even "Book Value" and there was not a glossary defining those terms.

Has some glitches
Not bad overall, but every year there is something which could be improved. I get Premier so I can enter rental properties. Even though it asks for partners name etc (spouse, which is being prepared jointly)and splits the net income 50%, I still have to re-enter the spouse's rental statement information. Why not make a provision to split it the same as T5 income is split? Also once you are in review and print, nowhere on the page does it say whose return this is. It would be useful if you are doing several returns to know whose you are about to print and also have an easier way to return to the tax forms.

Program Help
I misread the requirement to complete the T1135 form regarding foreign investment and clicked yes rather than no. I could not file as such and found no simple way to delete this requirement. The help menu applies to tax information no the program. I decided it would be quicker to delete and redo the return rather than continue attempting to change the original.

Good for easy taxes
Would enjoy voiceovers explaining why you did not get credits you applied for. Cant understand why I got zero break for looking after my elderly mother

Can't Use TurboTax on Portrait Monitor
For the second year, I was not able to use TurboTax on my computer with a portrait monitor. Text in the pop-up box gets chopped.

OK Product
When you have successfully e-filed - we're asked about getting info from CRA via express. I selected Launch CRA website, got connected and returned to Turbo Tax. I hit continue and it was just in a loop asking if I wanted e-file I hit continue and it went thru the process again. If all tasks are complete an exit option should be available.

not worth the extra cost
did not find any benefit for premium over standard. still could not get all the info needed for certain questions I had. still prints more forms than I used- agristability form that was not used since I am not in Agristability, and 7 pages of split income which I told the program I didn't have, and principle residence form which was not used

Still a work in progress
Have not been able to complete joint return after downloading wife's tax slips. Wouldn't let me download mine and had to start an individual return. Couldn't merge the 2 after they were completed.
Do not use if you are a last minute filer and have high blood pressure.

Queries Suck
In the Q & A (Review) portion the "canned" answers frequently do not come close to answering the needs of the tax payer. They appear to be mostly from previous years and not applicable to current needs.

Old and getting older
Program is getting worse and worse, no basic updates with handling of data being entered. Same old, same old.
Help is useless, written at the level of Grade 3 student. Almost better to search internet than asking TurboTax. Good for two T4s, medium level situations become enormous tasks. But... will keep using it, nothing else comes close when non-std files arrive

Confused
I found myself confused about how to look or print a particular form.I do not know why I get a RRSP deduction limit amounts when as older than 75 I can no longer hold an RRSP. I do not know why a T1206 is included when I have no spouse. I don't know when/how I can claim amounts I give to my grandchildren toward their tuition.

This is my fourth year using Turbo so I am not a rookie, in years past I would input my data and then turbo would then instruct me to input my wife's data , but not this year , it did not go back to my wife's return until I had finished and then asked if I had data for my wife since she is over 65, I told the system that I wanted to do both returns at the same time but it ignored that instruction, Why?

Disappointed
I've used Turbo Tax for the past several years and am disappointed in this year's edition. The questions were too basic and generalized, as if the program had been "dumbed down". In previous years, the program showed you the forms you were filling out through the Easy Step so you could flip into the form and back to Easy Step with little effort. Now, if you click to go to forms, the form shown doesn't match the computer settings for font sizes etc, and shows up in very small font, making it difficult for older eyes to read.
Further, when a specific phrase is entered into the search, even with quotations, the search lists every instance of each word and can't seem to find strings.

Not what expected
I bought this as I have a rental property that I made into 2 rental units and moved to another property to be closer to family. I didn't find that this product helped me in the way I thought it would. The standard edition would have worked just as good.

I was disappointed with Turbo Tax this year because of the change they added regarding Capital Gains. It caused me to have to pay twice on my capital gains. It was an obvious error when I checked with others online, but Turbo tax said it was the investment companies that had made the mistake.
I would like to see links to forms in question, rather than your navigator.
This is the fourth year that I have used Turbo Tax and perhaps the last year.

Good but automatic updates do not work.
This is a good product. Fast, efficient, and reliable but the automatic updates did not work this year. This is something that the Turbo Tax team must fix as a priority for next year's release.

You still need to know ...
Turbo Tax Premiere is okay but you still need to know how to manually do your taxes. Do not expect the program to divide the income and credits for a couple. You must figure this out for yourself.

Not as robust...
Does not seem as robust as in previous years, transferring info from worksheets and forms did not seem as reliable as previously so I had to double check everything. Running on Windows 10 with all updates and patches installed.

The product works quite well. However, there are some areas that have minimal explanations and need to be enhanced with real examples. Also, tin the past TurboTax allowed it to be installed on 3 computers but now it is only allowed to be installed on 2 computers. This should be changed to unlimited computers because the software is restricted to a fixed number of returns, therefore, this cold be monitored as the returns are filed; why should there be a restriction on the number of computers. Many people have various places they work from so that installing the software on multiple locations would make it easier on people. to use your product.

I have been using this program for many years and this year is just unbelievably terrible.
Tells you to review tax saving opportunities but does not tell you exactly where and how to optimize for husband and wife.

Still needs work
Calculates taxes correctly but does not automate processes such as earned income to T1135. Help system is not much help, links you to a form but not the specific part of the form in every instance.
