Not great for students
I found filing for my 2 university student kids awkward. You should get something printed out wrt tuition transfers and carry forwards. It shows you this information, but doesn t let you print it.

Not as good as previous years
I was disappointed by some of the missing or incomplete info (eg. deduction as it relates to age), the default checking of a box when I only wanted to read the highlighted definitions, miscalculations incurred on the CRA download T5008 data compared to actual figures available from my banking docs.

Rental Addition Not Worth extra Money
I have used the standard and thought it would be easier with rentals if \i used the premier. There was not a notable difference to justify the extra expense. I still love your product but don't see the need for the upgrade.

Norther deductions
Travel expenses paid by yourself does not give you any benefit when amts entered in appropriate blocks unless taxable income Box 32 .
Requested help with this for last 2 yrs but no response just drop down solution which doesn't have the solution.

Not up to snuff
This years turbo tax doesn't compare with previous years. Format, accessible information, clarity, even the printing procedure is far below previous years. Previously you could put your curser on the item within the page and have an immediate explanation. Tips on the side for that particular area were extremely helpful. This years Turbo I was always questioning if that was what was required or not.

Gets the Job done
TurboTax does a great job at getting the job done. I have found previous version better. I found the warnings and tips to be very general this year and not related to my data, I believe this was better previously. Also I remember being able to get help for the screen that I was on, this year it was not easy to find this help.

Good but only to a point
The premier edition needs 3 things.
1. An input from a file for all detailed lists, This is specific investments and donations and medical expenses. This list should be capable of a % split for all investment detail. The US Version has CSV file entry.
2. All T3, T5, including T5008 and T5013 should have the % split option. This should include all investment detail.
3. All printing should be done to a PDF as well as a real printer, eg. confirmations.

Hi Res Screen Fail
Turbo Tax should have seen this coming. 3,000 x 2,000 res screens render Turbo Tax next to useless due to the fact that TTax has no setting to make the menu and messages readable.
This will need to be properly addressed in the next version.

Pretty Good Product
I've been using this product for many years now and have seen it improve each year. It's quick and easy to complete your income tax.
I didn't give this a three star rating because it's not perfect. What's missing is tax tips as you complete the various forms and pages. A few years ago, they had these popping up as mini video clips. Kinda miss them. Also, there's a few minor glitches I've found that, if you're not careful, can report out wrong calculations. To be fair, they're not glaring errors, which is why it probably went unnoticed.

Use to be a great product
I've been using turbo tax and quick tax prior for years. However, this year the layout and descriptions are not clear. There were calculation errors in revenue property income and the instructions were not clear. Not sure if i will be purchasing product in the future as i was very disappointed this year.

Problem
When I started using the program it worked fine. After upgrading to google chrome turbotax stopped loading, giving me an error about unrecognized scripts running. After that I had to use the instal disc to get into the program.

Turbo and Apple computers
Turbo is a good product BUT
I have a apple computer and find this is not friendly with that. The only way I could do it was online and they charge for every return you do after you pay for the program. there must be a way to do it same as Microsoft or either they not charge every time you do 1 online.

Needs Improvement
Turbotax Premier needs some improvements. While it does the basic stuff, it's frustrating that it doesn't do the calculation to do currency conversions even while the tool requires the user to input the exchange rate. And it doesn't provide guidance between input of t-slips for foreign income versus other information slips for foreign income. Also, how can the tool not incorporate the completion of the T1135 and include it in the netfile transmission of the tax return? What a tease. It includes the pages, but they can't be filled by the user, and the print version contains the watermark, so the printed copy can't even be utilized for manual completion and snail-mail to the CRA.
Not worth the premium price for the premier version.

Quality is not like prior years
Navigation among sections is not as easy as in prior years. Navigation among forms is not user-friendly. There was no live chat option available for simple Q&A, which in my case would have been helpful with difficult to navigate dependent information and deductions. I hope the quality improves in next year's version.

not as good as it used to be
The software accuracy and helpfulness has degraded. It changed tax due on recalculation a couple of times; did not print all the schedules required even though it had said attache those schedules, had to be manually printed. I had ever experienced this wth earlier versions. I will not buy again.

printer issues
I've used your product for several years and sadly there's always an issue of being unable to print a particular page, eg. the summary sheet has to be select all, copied onto Word and then printed. Most inconvenient and time consuming. An improvement on this issue would be most welcome

Some Problems
I appreciate being able to use software to do taxes as it keeps track of everything well, especially on a complex return as mine tends to be nowadays. However, when I have issues I do not find it particularly easy to get to the bottom of them. Two issues I had this year were:
1. The charitable donations optimizer suggests that the appropriate charitable donation is that which reduces one's tax to zero. I think that it makes more sense to reduce the Provincial tax to zero. Before that point the donation generates a 50% tax credit in Alberta. After that point donations only generate a 29% tax credit. Therefore I prefer to carry forward excess contributions to provide a 50% tax credit in the following year, and think that the program should draw attention to this possibility. However, I do appreciate the ability to see the tax implications of varying the size of donations by using a slider.
2. This year when I got to the print stage, the program only recognized my network printer, and not the one I wanted to use which is directly plugged into my computer. I had to create and store PDFs, and then print from these. This is the first time I have experienced this in any program, and it really should not happen in a mature product. Perhaps a minor point, but something that takes time trying to figure out what is happening.

Still Clunky
You should be able to have multiple returns open simultaneously so you don't have to close parental returns to view dependants' returns.
There should be a toggle function on the tuition transfer amounts to determine which parent should claim the amounts.
Credit card payment info is incomplete. How do you determine if you can pay later & it states 1% for Mastercard but on the website it muddies this by stating rates apply only in the USA

Yellow brick road
Make the Name options at the bottom of the page more visible for going back & forth from yourself to spouse. Too small!!!
The lead into adding up ie: Med. expanses etc. could be more user friendly .
Editing is also an interesting area to look at.
