Can't print return with open form only
I was super disappointed that this years turbo tax does not have an option to print your completed return with open forms only. U have to print each form seperately... total time waster. HATE HATE HATE .....

Many problems to be fixed
1. cannot open and operate previous year files - need fixed.
2. there should be a hot key or a button made available to go back to where I was instead of having have to jump to select form every time after reviewing other information.
3. Font too small. Very difficult for older people.

EAsy to use with minor bugs
The software is easy since I've used it for a few years now. As all softwares go, bugs cannot be avoided.
The company could improve on the quality of training they provide to their product support specialist or just fix bugs in their software to avoid the extra effort of having to contact product support.

mediocre not the best issue of taxpackage
when going to review ,could not find what had been entered prteviously ,kept going back to review , that's not good performance as far as I am concerned. I do hope your next yearts version is more complete in explanation of the various sections.
I fond a turbo tax package at a store that would have cost me less than your BARGAIN sale, that did not improve my thoiught of your service I realize now that I should not have orderedthe tax package from Turbotax
Thank you for the opportunity to comment on the 2012 package

2012 Impossibly tiny unchangeable fonts
Please allow MUCH LARGER FONTS in screen display.
People have been requesting this for years with QuickTax and now TurboTax, with no result. Here is my repeated request again for this year: Please allow users to set the screen display font size from INSIDE Turbotax, consistent with generally accepted usability standards.
Your current suggested workaround, that of changing system font sizes and screen resolution, does not work for monitors that only support their one native resolution, or for users like me who MUST have large fonts, regardless of monitor resolution, in order to read the screen.
I can barely make out the contents of the Turbotax screens, but if I make the changes you suggest, it pushes parts of the Turbotax pages off-screen so they are inaccessible, renders every other application on my computer unusable, and completely messes up my Windows desktop icon display.
I am not prepared to give up the functionality of my entire computer just to be able to use Turbotax.
Please listen to your customers who have been requesting this change for years, and fix this Turbotax display issue. Thank you.

Too long and complex
There are too many windows/receipts/forms and and you have to jump all over the place in order to find out things. The lines should all be numbered on a shes's so you know what goes where. The software I used last year was far less complicated and just had the main form on the page. all you did was go down filling in amts... easy.

you still have ot allowed printing of the year to year summary, and you really need to allow more lines in the F7 lists like for rental maintainance details.

Premier 2012 Needs debugging
Long time QuickTax user. 2nd year using TurboTax package & having so many problems with bugs/glitches in the program on the Quebec Return. I understood perhaps in the first year the carryover data inputs could get glitchy, then this year several UNNEEDED & NEVER used forms are popping open & cannot be cleared or closed & preventing filing the return!!! Really NOT HAPPY.

Still Below Par
I use TurboTax to file both US and Canadian returns. The US version continues to be superlative, while the Canadian version is difficult to understand, the step-by-step process is vastly inferior to the US version and overall needs significant review and improvement.

Problems with 2012
This is my 4th year using this tax preparation software and encountered problems each year which required contacting technical support regarding a glitch with the software. This year for example, the demo for NETFILE did not function after numerous attempts. I see from the community comments, many others are experiencing the very same problem.

Good program. Good Calculations, but the price is too much for simple extras.
Stick with the Standard. Unless your big into stocks and investments, this program may be what you need.

Premier? Premier What
Same product as before always decent. HOWEVER the removal of the QuickTax Tracker tool from the product and hence the ability to simply be able to put in stock and market purchases and have it generate for import that appropriate information for tax filings is a big NEGATIVE. This is the REASON I purchased Premier in the past. Now all Premier appears to be is that it asks you for the information for stocks and business, but you still have to figure out all the allowances, effective costs etc...NOT NICE.

The tips and warning sections need to be more connected. I often to back to check them out and find nothing of value.
I would also suggest that you reduce the number of screens that you need to scroll down to move to the next screen.

TurboTax needs a Boost
I am a long time user of Turbo Tax and have generally been satisfied with Easy Step. My only critique (and maybe I missed them) is that I did not find any questions about whether I paid for my kid(s) to participate in a Sport program or Arts program in the profile/interview section of Easy Step.

Less Friendly than Earlier Versions
I've used QuickTax and now TurboTax for about 10 years now. I used to find that it was super easy to use. The old version asked me to identify which slips I had, and then I was prompted to enter the amounts in the boxes from those slips. It then asked a few more questions to ensure I wasn't missing some possible tax savings and voila! Taxes were done! Now I get an array of confusing questions that I'm not sure how to answer. It's like TurboTax is trying so hard to be uber-friendly and 'easy to use' that its gotten too complicated. Please give us back an option to tell you what slips we have and you fill-in what goes where .... Or, I'm afraid, I'll have to go get an accountant next year. Because if you get any "easier to use", I'll be sunk.

Good Product/Needs Improvement
I use this product every year, and it works well. I can always do my taxes within couple hours or so and very accurate. I think doubling price of program just so I can add a bit of income from basement suite is ridiculous (never used to be like that). I also think that Turbotax regularly puts you in a position where you are scratching your head, instread of providing simple instructions to clarify what they are sometimes asking. Otherwise, really beats the days of going to an accountant or trying to do your own calculations with a pencil and calculator!

One bg headache
Even the easy step approach was far from easy, and it was difficult to get good support. Support varied from very difficult to understand to excellent. The real headache was trying to NETFILE. The system takes you round and round in circles makng you go through optmizations and warnings seeral times. And after trying to file one return for well over an hour I am still no nearer to gettng it done. After that I have another return too file. It's a good job they have extended the filing deadline to May 4!!!!!! Next year I will have to go into special training to even think of using it.

I could not do my taxes on my own without this!
I have been using Quicktax or TurboTax to do my taxes every year for about 10 years. I usually leave it to the last minute. I started on April 28th this year. Without TT I would be doomed. Compiling the information takes me 2 days (I have a rental property and investment income). Entering in and verifying takes only 2-3 hours. I could not do my own taxes without this software. I found a couple of minor glithches this year: hence the 3 star rating. There was an error wrt to the percentage ownership of the rental property. Also, I could only enter two bond transctions: there was no option to enter more.

This year's program proved very sluggish in my computer, compared to 2010. My 2010 version still speeds through the steps, but 2011 processed very long between steps, which became quite frustrating when backing up a few steps for review. Each step caused a wait of at least 8 seconds before completing.

medical expense worksheet improvements
It has been suggested that it is best to enter individual reciepts but the system is very time consuming. category, paid to, and patient fields tend to be very repetitive. Some word recognition software would help. I'm talking about the type of anticipatory word processing where you type the first few letters and it suggests a whole field that started the same way. Hit enter and it is filled in the same way as last time. Keep typing and, if there is no match, it lets you continue with a new entry. ie. type of expense: PRESCRIPTION DRUGS --type PRE and enter and the field is filled in. similarly, paid to:SHOPPER'S DRUG MART --type SHOP and enter. & patient: WILLIAM type WILand enter. In fact you should only have to type the first letter if there are no other items starting with the same letter! Also, when you select your date range (with the help of the optimizer) the program should automatically keep the unused items after that date to forward to the next year's medical expense worksheet thereby saving you the trouble of re-entering them.

Some glitches
This is my first year for using an on-line tax calculator and for the most part the software is easy to use. I particularly appreciate the pension splitting optimizer. I am used to doing my tax returns long hand and it would have taken me ages to arrive at the optimum split. However, I haven't found as yet how to add an income category onto my husband's return. Hence I cannot rate the software higher than average for ease of use.

Access to chat line
I was never able to access the help line, because you always needed a pass code?? Which number is required and where do find it in the Turbo Tax box....is it the registation no, or customer no. ....what?
I found this process time consuming, and waste of time to try and remember proper steps to get on-line.
Also, any of the answers on the pop up ...I wasn't sure if they were accurate.
It needs to improve...go back to some of the Quick Tax format for answering tax questions...would be my suggestion!
