No currency code imported from CRA. No foreign exchange rate field available for input to facilitate easy USD to CAD conversion for T3, T5, T5008 slips and have to manually changes hundreds of numbers manually. those issues go on for many years without fix or improvement. can not understand why as it is common sense issues.

There were at least 3 problems discovered during use of 2025 Turbo Tax Premier edition. The worst was the imported data from CRA into Turbo Tax. Problems were reported. After more than 30 days, all problems persisted and no fix was implemented.

I think turbo tax can do better when it comes to "fixes" when reviewing. The fixes that are flagged should be automatically corrected based on your profile and income. I think they would rather you pay the $75 for help than than change the software. after using Turbo Tax for the past 10 years, I will be pursuing other options next year.

Login Too Long Software problems did not work according like it should. Thumbs up to your help service had to talk 4 different times . Total process over 7 hours long. Would not print the forms out . Would only print one person and not the second. The netfile page did not print out clearly left half of the info out. Had to hand print on the netfile page. Would not bother to call the 5th time over the printing problem.

When I did one return for a disabled person, it didn't ask me about the Disability Tax Credit but when I did a different disabled person's return it asked me about the Disability Tax Credit. I had to do a ReFILE for the first disabled person's and I had to do a search for the Disability Tax Credit option in that ReFILE. This should have provided that option the first time I did his return. My client paid what he owned on the original NETFILE and now gets money back on his ReFile.

this was awful experience. First, I had to buy a NEW COMPUTER because the product won't run without window 11 as os. and then, netfile error messages at the end would NOT SHOW FULLY and I couldn't get them to expand. so i got "Boxes 52 plus 53 plus 56 cannot be mo......" Really? NOT HELPFUL!!!!!

The package says that it is good for 12 returns, but what they don't say is that they all have to be under the same account. My daughter had a different account and had to purchase her own software. And $90 is way too expensive!

The software is full of issue, after completing my return I save it and wanted to do one last software update. So I save my changes to my *.tt24. Then quite the tool and re-start it, but all my work was gone. It might be related to OneDrive, the software seem to store all the work in the RAM and forget to actually move it to Hard Drive space that it mention. Also CRA T-slips download sometime will make the tool crash as the tool does not time out when CRA webpage did not accept your request or your anti-virus blocks the webpage access.

Could be so much better. Don't ask for stuff that is not relevant to the situation. Have a way to mass remove hundreds of individual T6008 entries etc.....

Every year there are less returns available for returns with incomes over 25,000.00 and more for the returns with less than 25,000.00. Not a great value anymore as it won't even do my entire family's returns.

In Easystep it was hard to add the FHSA contribution. Just badly done. I will have to put aside time next year to try other software.

You are not able to take old online returns and use them with a desktop version. There is no solution for this. Call for help and got hung up on. When I finally connect all I got was 'nope you can't do that'. There is not indication that these applications to not work together especially since I had to login to my online account to start. The online version is more money then the desktop when you are doing more than 2 returns.
Also, be prepared to continually asked to spend even more money through every step of your return. Ask once and then remember my selection.

last time i use this software.. there is a error related to box21 total t3 slips do not have box52 and box53 this prevents filing of taxes

I had lots of issues with using this software for 2024 taxes. The software was adding T5 boxes 24, 25, and 26 together and putting the combined total in income line 12000. Checked my work over and over. Called customer service. We ended up just fudging the numbers. I was told they needed to get me off the line but 2nd level and was told I must have entered twice. They could see I did not as they had view access to my PC. I wanted to make an adjustment to who claimed interest on a joint account but could not as it just reverted to the same doubled up numbers. I have prepared first paper taxes since 1972 and then Turbo tax since early 2000s.

Certain elements of the software i.e Rental income was not clear. The program did not specify where to enter 50% ownership of a rental property. As there are several pages to do this, the Turbo tax review agent also had trouble finding the right line. I would encourage the male the rental portion of the program simple enough so customers can add the information of the correct line.

having used this software annually since it was called "quicktax" many years ago, I'm very disappointed in this year's product. Every time I closed the software, there was information missing that had to be reentered when I reopened the program. Somehow it was lost when I exited the program. I was, therefore, anxious to e-file, hoping all of the required information was transferred to CRA as required. I have never had any problems in previous years.

Keeps suggesting the same "opportunities" and warnings over and again in a loop. After the question has been answered, stop asking!
Entry of T3s and T5s was very frustrating...the numbers were adjusting without my input and then reporting an error.
Entry of medical receipts is very laborious...for old people with many, many small receipts for meds, etc, you have to enter each one separately. None of the fields prefill. It should be in a chart by provider and patient or something so you don't have to enter the patient name and the provider discreetly with each entry.
All in all, not great. I've used the basic version in years past and it was a lot less frustrating and confusing.

I have been a TurboTax user for years, this year I found the product to be lacking. Paid for Assist and Review and had problems getting to tax experts. Asking questions in the community section offered no answers. This years TurboTax missed the mark definitely needs improvement in the Help section and being able to switch from one spouse to the other. Also the left side of the screen does not load properly. Very disappointed

seemed buggy this year and difficult to find information about problems. First year I have ever had problems with TurboTax and it was disappointing. In all fairness, some of this was likely due to CRA's many errors and glitches this year. Also, TurboTax Premier is now ridiculously expensive.

Been using turbotax premier for a few years now and have always been able to transfer forms electronically (T3,T5,T5008) from our CRA accounts but this year the program refused to transfer our T3 and T5 forms. Having to fill these forms out manually with limited investment knowledge kind of defeats the purpose of using turbotax. Not impressed and may have to get our taxes done elsewhere next year.

The package did not import all T slips. Package does not offer help with "box" fields. Package continually tries to sell support (are errors introduced on purpose). T3 entry issues. It feels like this year was a step back in ease of use.

The current version of TurboTax does not properly split income/gains between partners for T3 and T5008 forms. Even though you enter the percent split in TurboTax, it allocates all income to the partner who you are entering the data for and zero income to the other partner. You have to manually calculate the split for each partner and entered into each tax return. Unsuspecting tax filers may not notice this and end up with one partner's income too high and the other partner's income too low. I expect TurboTax to work without important bugs like this, thus I am very disappointed.

won't print returns. says forms not available until early March. then in another place says some forms not available till late march, and it says we are not able to submit income tax until then, but have already submitted tax, but not able to print some taxes, but others are able to be printed, even though same forms are used for each.

While I like the program, it can be very clunky and repetitive. I am able to save a pdf on two occasions. Why does the program not recognize I have already done so and nothing has changed? For years (including this one) I get warnings that are really only reminders to make sure I am happy with certain choices. Why can't I dismiss them permanently? Finally, I kept getting prompted for information of the First Time Home Owners program even though I did not select it.
