still has bugs
This 2019 version still has bugs. The program will stall at times. Also the design of the program makes moving between forms view and auto fill very difficult if not even impossible. Even just jumping around on the program to adjust numbers is very cumbersome.

Not easy for DECEASED
Filing a separate return for deceased is painful - two separate returns you have to go back and forth to enter data. Why? In the review area there are inaccurate references to :Inflow line 6836, does not exist, as well as other line numbers 8A, 31C, line 6.

So Frustrating
While TT seems easy to use whenever you have an exception it becomes an exercise in frustration to overcome. Web site is one of the worst i have ever seen.

Worse Turbo Tax purchase ever
Had to purchase Turbo Tax Premium specifically to handle various types of investment income. Otherwise I have basic income types and could use any free tax filing app. Despite being a turbo tax user for many years, I could not down load my personal info from last year's return, which had been done using Turbo Tax online instead of regular store bought product. There excuse for not being able to was there was a cliche in the program and it was going to be a couple of weeks to fix (really). Second, the program was not able to automatically identify the T5008 items downloaded from the CRA as investments and thus was not able to record the net capital gains/losses from Schedule 3 on the T1, line 12700. Nothing in the program instructions or help information gave any clue to why. Contacted the Turbo Tax help desk and they had no idea why the program would not transport this info to the proper line. They were about to send the problem up the line (requiring a multi day wait and questionable call back from them), when I noticed a box on the stock edit line had an option to record as an investment or capital gain. When the capital gain option was picked the info was then automatically and properly transfered to the proper income line. There was nothing in the program instructions that this had to be done. Since this was a download from the CRA, I would have expected this process to be automatic. What is most upsetting is that I could have relied on Turbo Tax to make sure all income was recorded properly and in the right line and filed an incorrect return that would have either been flagged or held up any refund. These kinds of errors are not acceptable or expected from a company that has been providing tax software for the Canadian marketplace for many years. Very disappointing. Hope my experience forewarns others of this problem.

Stick with Standard
I was told by the Standard version that I would benefit from Premier. There was no difference in my entries and only made it more confusing and stressful. Stick with the Standard version .

Too many glitches
I really like your product WHEN IT WORKS CORRECTLY. Over the last few years there have been too many errors that I need to figure out how to fix before I can file. I also have to navigate the program using at least two back up files due to glitches that freeze the program or do not save information after asking it to save.

So many Glitches
So many problems, so many broken links, very little help. Tried to purchase the additional services to no avail. Last year I buy Turbo Tax. I don't know what happened. It used to be better.

Glitchy
One screen says I tried to enter a calculated value, when I entered nothing. Happened on both returns I did. Working Income Tax Benefit - TurboTax said I should apply, but error kept coming up that my spouse was not my spouse.

The splitting gave strange results. The difference between incomes was only $8000 but the split assigned $11000. It doesn't seem possible that the split that is transferred be greater than the difference.

Software glitches
Dividend entry has errors, if one puts in actual dividends in their appropriate box as well as taxable dividends in their box, the software double counts them.
T776 forms open up and cannot be deleted even if not used
Country code for T1135 should be provided in the software itself.

Errors
I downloaded the years 2016 and 2017 from Intuit"s site. Have had a consistent error that I seem unable to find a fix for. (Script error do you want to continue with this page) I must answer yes at least twice everytime I change forms. I am not a happy tax victim.

Problematic software
1) This software has a lot of unnecessary cycling
2) In the easy-step the page for political contributions does not have a button to enter contributions, the only options are to go back or to skip contributions
3) The software does not list a toll-free phone number to solve problems like this.

lingering problems
I've been using this product for many years not because it's the best, but beacuse it's the best of the worse and better then nothing.
The product contains problems that have lingered for many years and have never been adressed. Because of which, I always need to triple check all my work and make sure the software did not forget or erase any data. So no, I will not recommend Turbotax, but will unfortunately continue using it....

Can't Print Properly
Unable to print the proper form to send to the CRA; will send with 'duplicate...' stamped on it. Pressed every button related to printing.
Didn't save the file once, after having saved it, so lost pension entry.
I made a mistake with RRSP and went into a circle - put a counter in to see if someone is and take them back to the RRSP info page.
Searched for Schedule 7 and did not find it.
Tried to open and look at an old (2017) TurboTax, and instead of allow a review (I was looking for previous year income), I wound up starting to create a new return.
Instead of telling us to format the dates correctly, autocorrect the dates to correct the entry, like what is done for the SIN number.

System Locks up / Corrupt File
Although each step is easy, last year and now this year, when I filled out all the forms and reviewed the documents. Before sending I used the Update Documents function, and after, the software could not read the files - said there was something wrong. Poor design if this is the second year in a row this happens. It takes several hours to fill out the forms only to lose the data.

Glitch in program
I buy Premier because I have a rental property that is a sole proprietorship. Form T776 in the program has a glitch and keeps asking for the percentage of the partnership even though there isn't one and won't accept zero. Unable to e-file with an error and cannot get past it.

Close but so many problems
Not a horrible product but frustrating rather often. Many errors and difficulties filing via NetFile in Canada.
Wish Intuit could polish and test more cases of the product, but shareholders probably would revolt.

not worth it
I purchased the premier primarily as I had sold mutual funds during the year. All I had to do was enter info from t5008, but then when I went to that section re selling mutual funds, I got another window asking for the same information which I entered. Took me forever to figure out why my capital gains total was twice as much as it should have been, and then that I had to delete the information in the mutual gains section. And the detail from the t5008 doesn't print off anywhere, just the totals. Not impressed. Also, I still had to look, as with the basic version, to figure out where I could enter in info from capital loss carry-over to offset capital gains...no prompt for that one.

Gets worse every year
I installed the software from the CD, and got a message that updates were required. The update failed, so I went to the TTAX website an downloaded the update file - 175mb. When I ran that, I got an error that TurboTax 2018 wasn't installed. Tried to update from the program again and it failed. Tried to run the downloaded file again, and it failed. Shut down and quit, very frustrating. Tried again next day, and the software didn't prompt for an update until I tried to file, then got an error. Fortunately, the update worked this time and I was able to complete my tax returns. Next year I am going to try a different product.

audits
