User Issues
the product would not perform properly on my year old computer. Long waits for technical support and eventually I had to reload on an older computer. This worked but I felt I was basically dropped like a hot potato. The product worked well but support is not good.

TOO MUCH ADVERTISING
previous years seemed much more intuitive. now it seems the forms contain more extraneous and useless information usually in the form of useless bit of data or options that are really not much use, at least to me. when i copied a return, the program would not let me electronically file, there was no clear indication of where it was taking me, and no reasoning presented as to why it steered me to the cra website to obtain a notice of assessment as the ONLY OPTION that made sense, WHEN I DONT NEED A NOTICE OF ASSESSMENT, I NEED TO SIMPLY FILE THE SUBMISSION AND PAY THE BILL. Sorry, but i was a user that used to tell people this was a wonderful program, but somehow it has been tweeked into a horror story. sometimes stopping continuous improvement is really an improvement in itself.

getting worse every year
This is the first year that I have not had good thought about Turbo Tax. Next year I will look for another program. I have used this product for a number of years but this year - it is terrible.

Limited Functionality
Does not allow the entry of multiple T1223 forms. Multiple forms from employer are combined into one form. This is not how it should be done. Also, only allows the entry of personal portion on the T776 if it is a percentage of the total. Sometimes rental deductions are not a simple percentage. There should be a function where it can be entered manually.

2016 turbo tax has a few problems. It did not show the amount of refund/owe on the left hand column. It did not let you pick from the left hand column if you want to go back to a specific spot, you had to back up page by page. Kept getting a script error on every page, very annoying.

Good concept - Poor execution
This programme reflects a good concept, particularly with the ability of getting CRA and Quebec slips downloaded directly. Unfortunately in practise, it doesn't work well. The CRA slips are inserted at the right place in the form(s) but the Quebec slips are not downloaded. Rather federal slips are used to insert data into the Quebec form, but the data is not inserted in the right spots and must be all removed and re-inserted manually in the right place. In addition, I ran into five serious glitches filling my 2016 tax return - involving hours of workaround. IN some cases Support was helpful, but in others they were unaware ot the problem. Eventually I was able to send in my income tax electronically and I am not aware of competitors that offer the same service. So it is in that sence, good value. . But, it is NOT easy to use and requires more effort by its development staff to correct the glitches.

not like it used to be
the whole purpose of using the same provider year over year is that you don't have to re-enter all your personal details. I found this years version to not accept all the previous files and thus created a lot of extra time for me.

Worst Purchase
TurboTax Premier (2015) is the worst tax software ever. I used Turbo Tax before and it was ok. Cannot say the same thing for this year.

Annoying Issues this Year
In previous years you were allowed to install it on two machines. Now its only one and is a total pain for a family. I found a couple of annoying bugs in the interview section where my selections either appeared or disappeared every time I went back to the interview.
As in past years there is no way to automatically combine 2 separate tax return carryovers into a joint return. Also ending a business doesn't keep it out of the carryover to the next tax year and you have to manually bypass it.

Program Flaws
Needed to upgrade to get some basic forms for reporting investments (money grab).
Could not netfile my sons return because he had foreign income and your program couldn't deal with (kept getting netfile error with no clear direction from your FIX flag.
Had to print a copy for mailing using your program. Your print for mailing button did not print all the documents needed. It listed documents needed for filing but didn't print them. I had to manually go in and print individual forms.

Won't work with VM Fusion and Windows 10
Awesome to use once you find an environment you can load it into. Disappointing it won't work with Windows 10 in VM Fusion environment which may prevent a loyal customer from buying again. Will recommend only if this issue is addressed.

Very Disappointed
I have been using Turbo Tax Premier version for over 20 years (from when it was called Quick Tax). I am very disappointed that I cannot file T1135 electronically when other much cheaper product (e.g. ufile standard version) can netfile the T1135. I have been trying to see if there's an update that will allow this simple feature for individuals. Definitely switching to another product next year as I'm totally annoyed!!!

Poor Rental Property Data Entry
The program is very frustrating when entering multiple rental property data as it randomly deletes data and it won't keep previously entered data if you go back to check information.

Help Menu's Don't Help
In many cases there is no help menu, and when it does if does not provide any guidance or connection to the tax issues or questions. When someone buys the Premium Edition, it typically means they have a more complicated tax situation. It actually feels like the help content has been reduced from the past. You should also review the grammatical content, the English translation is pretty bad in some sections.
The editor continues to be horrible. Cutting and pasting in 2016 should at least be similar to that of any other Windows software. A little investment to bring the software from 1980 to 2010 wouldn't hurt!

Not the Best
This was my first experience with Turbo Tax and I was disappointed in it.
I have used another Intuit product that had a listing of every page of the return and schedules on the left of the screen. I found that most helpful. I couldn't access these pages from Turbo Tax. It kept them hidden from me.
Also not all of the buttons were alive. In the dialogue I missed checking off the CPP box for my wife. When completing the form there was a button that mentioned CPP for my wife but I couldn't use it to go to that page. I had to go back to the her dialogue page and select CPP.
I had optimized the pension split to share with my wife. In the review there was a place where it asked it I wanted to optimize the pension split and I clicked on it. The pension amount changed by a few dollars and then the program proceeded to tell me I had exceeded the limit. I couldn't change the amount until I went back to the start where the program told me I had not selected to split the pension. Once I selected to split again the program calculated to the first number it had given me (a satisfactory amount).

Not too friendly
I have been using Turbo Tax to file taxes both in the US and Canada. US version is way easier to use, it does much better job of transferring info from prior year turbo tax file. There is no need to do you own calculations (at least not as much as in Canadian version). Also switching between forms and Step-by-step is much easier - when switching to Forms there is no need to look for he form in the US TurboTax, the form that is being worked on opens automatically depending on where you are in the Interview process.

Still can't handle RRSP contributions properly
If you have over contributed to an RRSP but have no RRSP room due to no employment income you have to go back into the program manually to prevent it from claiming the RRSP contribution has a deduction which you are not entitled to. This have been a problem for years and still is not properly fixed.
Add one question....are you entitled to an RRSP deduction this year! Not so hard to fix!

I found the rental portion of this software to be very confusing and it was not easy to follow. Long queues to get answers. At one point I was sitting in a queue for over an hour and then was just disconnected when your service closed. Would have been nice to at least have a message pop up and say something rather than just disconnect.

rental income
turbo had trouble splitting rental income-- with my wife--I thought it would be automatic----after I was done with rentals---my wife's income was zero instead or 4000 like mine-- had to go back and access each house and go thought the expenses---- they did pop-up..their must be a better way...
