Has a fundamental flaw
I have been using Quick Tax & Turbo Tax for many years and have been extremely satisfied until this year with the product. The problem that I consider a fatal flaw is this version of the program will not let me enter data via T-Slips like in prior years. Instead I am forced to go through Easy Step making the entry of a few simple forms take three times longer than normal. Even worse, there appears to be no information in the support resources to work around this problem. At the end of the day, the program is still valuable - but I am not happy.

Worst version yet
I have been using Quicktax since DOS, and this is the second year of Turbo Tax. This has been the worst working version of the software that I have seen. From not being able to do anything from the welcome screen, to manually stop the software from trying to take an RRSP deduction that wasn't applicable, to no longer linking dependent's information for transfer of tuition credits. Next year, for the first time since computerized tax preparation packages, I will try something else.

Too many pop-up pages
The STANDARD program probably would have done my job but I couldn't find out for sure so I paid the extra. I was guessing at almost every move due to unexpected program page pop-ups that wouldn't go away until I didn't really know where I was in the process. The continual changes in the program from year to year, are a pain when it is only done once a year. It took a whole day to process 2 hours work.
I would sure like to pick up a phone, talk to someone and solve MY problem not have to read about someone else's problems.

Expensive for what you get.
Medical Expenses such as travel and meal allowances were difficult to get information on and to input into the program. This program was supposed to be better than the basic. I didn't find it was for the difference I paid. However, taxes are now completed and sent.

Premium is same as Basic edition
I don't see the need of using this edition compare with the basic. The Basic can do rental and investment income as well.
I am done filing and yet I don't see anything different from the basic edition.

Frustrating
program auto populated my wife as wanting a seniors benefit. Had to use AI to walk me through the process. Intuit wanted me to pay more for help. Will not be back.

Easy to use, dumb errors
TT has errors that persist year after year. Rule 1 is never, ever, let TT automatically get your T5008 slips if you also have any USD trades. In this year's TT there are at least two places where it asks for a value and has "2024" over the box, but in fact needs the value from 2025.

TT let someone steal my license!
What was worse, they made me buy another license. Their support staff could not help me and did not even have the tools to find out who had stolen my license.
Obviously their cyber security practices are lacking. I'm not trusting them with my info or my business anymore.

Not user friendly
Windows edition is subpar compared to online version. I still struggle to complete it for 2 out of 4 family members. Clanky, not user friendly. I will never use install version again.

Turbotax has gone downhill

Better by hand
If CRA My Account doesn't download fully this app is a nightmare. Final copy uses 40 sheets of paper and doesn't include worksheets that prove your work! Ridiculous.

Worst experience

Garbage
This software should not be certified by Revenu Quebec. It contains bugs that Intuit refuses to fix for years. And this year they have broken even what used to work in the past. Talking to support was pointless, posting on the forum only got attention of others having the same issue. My pledge for this year - stop using TurboTax in 2026.

Used the program for many years and have never been as frustrated as this year. T3 errors in turbotax that they know about and have never fixed. They blame it on CRA which is not true. Will not use again.

This programme is extremely difficult to use unless you are doing anything other than a very basic return. Do not use if you have employment expenses; rental property; child care; etc. use only for income slips, union dues; rent property taxes. The help is also very poor

Poor Software
TurboTax does a poor job of converting the forms into Easy Step. Also when TurboTax makes a mistake in programming they avoid ownership. An error this year took me several hours of my time. Finally, TurboTax issued an update which resolved the issue

CCA claimed does not carry forward
I sold a rental property. I can't not do CCA recapture because the CCA claimed in 2023 was not carried forward to 2024.
I have been buying the Premier package specially for the rental property. Now, I know, it is not up to its task.

doesn't Know how to calculate child crredit
The software is incorrectly picking up only one income for child credits leading to errors in returns.
The software is also time consuming. It would be easiert just to enter slips.

Bad design
The screen just before this one was asking for a review ... I completed it because I was very dissatisfied with the product. One of my remarks related to the bad design ... well, this is another example of it. Two screens in a row asking for a review and I cannot even copy it from one screen to the other ! ... really bad design throughout the application. Researching in the forms is a pain, navigation is a pain ... horrible.
I am an accountant already used to do tax returns and I did not like this application at all. Not user friendly at all, bad design and lots of bugs.

Mystery Errors
For a program that is supposed to make things easy, it puts up error flags for items that don't even apply. I went through form T691 line by line to try to figure out the error. I couldn't find it. Nothing applied.
