Buggy, wrong browser, no real humans to help
Well where to start ... So it tells me I have the wrong browser & it is not supported but "IT" is the application calling IE11 on W10 not me, it is hard calling in the code IE11, not default browser. Then complains? Huh? I try to contact them, I am a paying Premier long time customer, they throw me to a voice AI bot that is absolutely USELESS. I MUST fill in a form to get a support number, I type that in, the support ticket in & the bot wants me to key in my email address on the touch pad, to get an answer via link, ok why did I fill out that form with my email address? The AI Bot is too stupid to read the form? Wrong answers, no real mechanism to contact a real support person. I tried to log in to community, says my pwd is incorrect, OK lets reset it, it ASKS the SAME question over & over & over & over & over, why not try a different question if my answer is wrong? Awful AI awful experience & I am a paying customer ... or WAS .......

waste of money
I got the premier version cause I has capital losses. It didn't calculate any return on those losses. so what was the point of spending $60 more dollars on a version that didnt help my return in the least. waste of money and my time. very disappointed.

NOT WHAT IT USE TO BE
I started 2019 Tax , when FINISHED FILING WHAT INFO I HAD - COULD NOT START ANOTHER RETURN - UNLESS I COMPLETELY EXITED THE PROGRAM. OTHER YEARS THERE WAS AN OPTION NOT READY TO FILE. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. LOOKING AT OTHER OPTIONS FOR NEXT YEAR.

NOT your 'easy tax return' solution
Constant nagging to upgrade (more$$), harder to navigate than a GPS with a blank screen. Does NOT make it easy simply to take your documents and enter the info unless you do an initial run-through to discover the order THEY want you to follow. Could be MUCH better for the price!

Full of bugs and glitches

slow medical expenses not user friendly
the program is extremely slow
you cannot easily jump from one section to another if you want to review your medical expenses it doesnt allow you to see all the medical expenses you entered - you have to go to forms section and even there you cant see the receipts if they are more than a 100 receipts - if one wants to check to see if they have duplicated a receipt its not user freindly one has to put the date of the receipt to see which one it is in order to edit you cannot differentiate between the medical receipts also the same goes for stocks entry - if you do not write the detail on the top box there should be an easier way to see all the entries without having to use your mouse so much or navigate so much out of the page you are currently on

Issue-Rental suite in principal residence
Pay extra for this premier edition to do rental income and expense which worked fine for several years. Asked our renter to leave so our daughter and granddaughter could move home. This triggered a change in use and a deemed sale of our home which had previously included our primary residence upstairs and our rental suite downstairs. Our problems involved determining our capital gain, designating our principle residence, and recapture our depreciation. Problem started with trying to determine what numbers to use. It was clear to use only one co-owners share at a time. My husband and I are co-owners. Not clear whether or not to combine or separate the numbers of the suite vs the numbers of the primary residence. As a rental expenses always asked for combined expenses and then % amount to be applied as personal use. In trying to figure out what numbers affected what and adjusting accordingly, I somehow ended up with three T2091 forms which I could not delete and could not net-file without filling them in. ie three separate designations of the same property as principal residences. Would also not net file unless I check marked that I had more than one principal residence over the relevant time period. Help not helpful. Doesn't explain enough about deemed sales or how to enter/ disperse the sale price and original costs between the rental unit and principal residence. Have done what made the software and net-file happy. Have no idea how CRA will react or assess the situation. Not looking forward with confidence. Also took more time than I had.

Not worth the money
TurboTax Premier was a waste of money since TurboTax Standard did what i needed. TurboTax easy step walk-through recommended using TurboTax Premier. I thought i would have see more savings, however my refund amount remains the same after the upgrade.
Also, T1135 was not well implemented on TurboTax Premier. TurboTax does not allow you to add any addtional lines. The note on the T1135 form was to print off the T1135 and use a blank sheet to add the rest of the entry. Inuit knew about this issue for years and haven't fixed it.
This is the last time I would purchase TurboTax Premier, however i may still purchase TurboTax Standard next year.

Not so good
I can't print or e-file the completed return. I pressed print key so many times the file could be over the number of returns allowed. The technical babble at your help desk was beyond me!

Problems with Securities entry
TurboTax premier - terrible for entry entry of securities for capital gains. There is a restriction on length of security names, but TT doesn't tell you that length - you have to keep retyping until it finally accepts. Plus this year I did all the entries, then got errors at netfiling and had to go back and reenter data for every T5 - had to click the 'capital gains' box for every security (never advised to do so first time) and reenter the cost data. Took a while to figure out what the error was. Final complaint - couldn't adjust font size for the tool bar at top of screen.

worst stress ever
I been using Turbo Tax for year, pay the extra $ compare to other tax tool. This year I by Premier version and got some problem with filing. No HELP at all, so hard to find phone number and no services. Error message are not precise, I have to search and find fix to problem my self.

A lot of bugs throughout the software
This is sure the last time I am using this software. It does not give me the feeling that it has been professionally developed. There are a lot of bugs and confusing steps, which made my tax return nothing but hassle. It placed some random amounts in the section of "other tax deductions" which I never entered and did not allow me to delete it in any way but keep giving me an error. I will definitely switch to another method or software in my next return.

Problems with Attibution and Joint Filing
TurboTax does not allow me to attribute 100% of a T5 Investment income to my spouse, (it does not accept 0% as my share). Among other things,this makes a certain income sharing option impossible. It should not treat 0 as a blank in places where this is necessary. The percentage option should also be available on the T5008 input. The combined filing option is useless if carry forwards and T slip from CRA options are not available for second person.

Confusing Program even for regular users
The program is very confusing. It is not for a person who has poor knowledge of what for look for...Had to visit CRA site to clarify a lot of issues before continuing. Clear guidance is absent in the easy-step interviews, unless you know what to look for. I have been using this since inception. Over the years it has become more and more confusing.

Your program had too many hidden windows to see how the client's was taxes were progressing . You needed advance knowledge where to click on a box to open hidden windows while filing taxes . The hidden windows that were hidden and opened were clipped from view .

Crazy confusing
1) The telephone contact numbers are a mess. I waited 3 hours one day to be called back and the received a call from the USA Turbotax not Canada!
2) The prescreening of callers to spell first, last names and email AND then to have it typed in and repeated letter by letter is extremely annoying and unacceptable. The Offer to email us suggestions for solving our issues is insulting and given that the automaton can barely spell our names, its hard to understand how it could be helpful in solving our tax matters!
3) Agents often hang up and do NOT return calls or email back even though we are forced to provide that information at the beginning of every call.
4)Entering Dependant information and setting up credit transfers is VERY complicated and inconsistent. One has to physically click the credit amounts and they somehow change when one moves from one dependant to another.
5) The Address of the dependant does NOT transfer over in Schedule 5!

Premium not worth the money
I purchased the Premium upgrade to enter my gains and losses for 2018. The S3 -Supp was limited in the number of entries it would accept and I spent time on the phone talking to support only to be told I would have to sum the last group of entries and add it to the last line of the S3-Supp form. Not acceptable. Get some real programmers, not interns, and make the S3-Supp form much longer. There are 227 trading days in the year. Try that number of line entries for starters.

I have used turbo tax for several years as usual I purchased the 2018 premier version. Installation was simple but no information was transferred from previous returns stored on my computer. I had to enter all new information. I am not happy about that.

Very Confusing
A very confusing product to use. The lack of on-line chat (about tax items - not just the product) is a very serious weakness. I made a data entry error and wasted over an hour trying to fix it the "on-line community" was useless in this case. Eventually just dumped the file and started from scratch. Have used Turbo tax for many years. Next year I will read the reviews and look for something better.

WHOEVER WRITES THE CODE FOR THIS HAS CLEARLY NEVER DONE THEIR TAXES WITH IT. IT'S CUMBERSOME, INEFFICIENT AND A PAIN IN THE BUTT. IF IT WASN'T FOR THE FACT I DO RETURNS FOR FREE FOR A BUNCH OF LITTLE OLD LADIES AND DON'T WANT TO REENTER THEIR INFO I WOULDN'T WASTE THE MONEY ON IT.

worst rollout in 20 years
Poorest rollout of Turbo tax in 20 years. Would not update and had to get update from website. Help website was very poorly setup. The online registration did not work properly. Phone help was absolutely painful.

Irritating
Try to print but needs to be updated first so update then get an error go to site to update. Try again looks like it updated but still wont print and lets me know that it needs to be updated every time I save. On restart it asks for me to update so I do then tells me all is update still tells me I need to update before I can print so in the end I cant print return for my files. Whats up with the "Tell Other Customers About Yourself and Connect" is this a dating site or a tax program site?
