Very consistent throughout the years

Great Tool
This is an excellent tool for completing my Income Tax as it involves investments, capital gains and interest cost. I could not complete my Income Tax without this and I would be forced to pay much more to have someone else do it. I have been a customer for at least 8 years and love it. It is so easy now.

Great purchase
For anyone who hasn't done their own taxes this is great for beginners. I recently became an owner of a rental property, and wanted to do the taxes on my own. Easy forms and it walks you through everything.

Easy and fast
An easy and fast way to do your taxes. The program does all the calculations so that you can save two sets of batteries for your calculator. The filing process has been simplified so much one wonders if it is working.

Turbo tax premier, excellent
I did not understand that the version I first downloaded allowed one return only. The ad was not clear.
There was no prompt to download last years data for this new version. I had entered much data before I discovered that last years data was missing from the "Detailed Tax Summary". I learned the procedure from one of your co-workers. Not intuitive nor easy to find.
Also, spent quite a bit of time discovering how to print the "Detailed Tax Summary", ie., not possible to do when in "Easy' mode.
I had to spent much extra preparation time because of these problems.

OVERALL OK
When offered the opportunity to renew my subscription I received what appeared to be a better offer for a new subscription. I had to waste quite a bit of time calling Turbo tax to sort it out because the difference between the two offers was not clear.
There are also some help topics that merely quote CRA and don't help at all.

Another great product
This is my third year in a row using TurboTax. This year I upgraded to Premier and found it well worth it. I had struggled to make the basic model handle T3 and T5008 input. For the first time this year I had a problem with the file and contacted TurboTax. Their person on the phone patiently and professionally explored the problem and found a solution to do with my anti-virus software. A highly recommended product and experience, overall.

Deceased Final
Not that one does this all the time but preparing a Deceased return as Final for the next year ie: 2020 using 2019 software should be a bit more easy. The software gives you guidance at first in terms of name and informs you to submit on paper. At end it does not stop you, says you are ready for Netfile ??
It asks for net income of spouse for year ahead yet one would not know so I selected , Not Known. It allowed the BC Provincial sales credit to go ahead when in fact if Deceased and FINAL it should have been zero refund. Just a few thoughts and warnings

Not as good as prior editions
While I remain committed to the TurboTax product, I was disappointed with the inconsistency and absence of tangible "help" on the few occasions when accessed. In printing the final tax forms, I selected only Federal Tax return and yet the program printed irrelevant or redundant "blank" documents (Sched 3 and S3 Supp; Principal Residence Designation, Sched 14 Climate Action Incentive)

Much better now
With the addition of the CRA data download it is a much better product. Although, one must still enter missing info on the downloaded data from CRA, such as type of income and a label for the source. Otherwise, very reliable. It also allowed me to revise last year's return when more information came to light, such as missing T-slips which showed up on the data download.

Pretty easy to use
I have used the software for perhaps 10 years or so and I like it. I always use Easy Steps as it guides you through the process slowly so you don't make mistakes. If you follow the way the software guides you it will be easy and accurate.

Turbo 2019 Premier
This year's edition seems to be easier than ever. Maybe it is that I am getting better at it. I did not appreciate the price increase. The product box does not explain well that in addition to the 12 >$25,000 returns there were also 8 <$25,000 available. This made it hard for me to buy because that was what I was looking for. I don't know if the product allows you to claim no CCA if you don't need it but I suspect you would have to override.
In short, this is a great product. I recommend it highly.
