As a long time user of Turbo Tax I find this version poorly programmed and poorly supported. When the user wants to file a print version to CRA selecting the Print/File menu option would seem logical. It is not! Selecting NETFILE (bold) wold seem and illogical choice but turns out to be the only way to do this. Be aware you will be asked 2 more times if you really want to use paper. Who is the stupid one, the user or Turbo Tax?

Several frustrations: As our birthdates show, we are both over age 71 so can no longer contribute to RSPs. Yet every year, we are advised to make RSP contributions. Stupid! This year, with no input from me, $6 shows up on Line 208, but not on the RSP screen. There is no way I can get rid of the erroneous entry. Really annoying!!
For one of our T5 slips, I entered 50% ownership for my spouse, Result: 50% of the interest appeared for my spouse--and 100% for me. Not helpful!!
For the rental income, I entered 50% ownership for my spouse, but I still need to enter each expense item on both returns. Why does Turbo not automatically divide the expenses between both spouses?
For our investment income, the amounts carried through to Line 21 and the dividend tax credits do not tally with the amounts that I entered on the investment screen. There is no way I can correct the totals as the individual figures are all correct. Very upsetting!
I am going to have to correct the print outs by hand and submit our returns by paper. Exceedingly annoying!!
One last point: I cannot fathom why the individual figures for actual dividends, taxable dividends and dividend tax credits are not totalled and shown, instead of being lumped together. The lump total is not a useful figure, whereas the individual totals would make checking the transferred amounts easier.

I purchased this program (Premium) early this year from Costco and used it to do taxes for my family including a male relative (born 1939) and his wife (born 1957). Although I ticked the Box on Sch.ONT 14 to get the family credit, the finished/filed return did not include the combined $231 ($154 for him and $77 for her). The result, the CRA Notice of Assessment did not send this couple a cheque for $231 (they were both low income earners; $0 taxes owing). Now we have to ask the CRA, a daunting task, to please give them the Climate Action Incentive grant of $231 because the Turbo Tax Premium - which we erroneously believed would do everything right - did not include the $231 on page 4 of T1 General in their submitted/Netfiled tax returns. Intuit/Turbo Tax, how could you let us down.

Could not get past the "We are preparing your tax profile". Waited 30 minutes after 3 attempts. it kept wanting me to buy again. Its painful enough to do our taxes and I thought the lower cost online would be the same. Its not and its slower (to get as far as I could anyway). Help screen did not have my problem listed. Returned for refund and (2 hours later after calling online help for refund, which went well though I have to wait for the refund) got the download version which did not have this problem. It was better and similar to pervious experience with TurboTax,

Simple things are not explained. For instance, filling the form T2209 is a nightmare. Printing the return with PDF is also a hassle since there is nowhere an indication as to where the file is. Turbo tax is becoming worse by the year. Numbers of my T4 do not correspond to the Turbotax software. etc..

As of March 11, 2019. I still can't print or net file my Quebec returns because updates are still not available. Completely unacceptable situation. Turbo Tax sold this product without mentioning the problem. I'll never purchase this again.

Bought Premier to help with Investments. Was no better than standard. In particular it would no deal with sale of more than 2 bonds. The supplement for gifts of property to cope with the third bond sale could not cope with a sale that was not a gift. Hence, Netfile rejected submission and paper mail file had to be used. Needs to be better!

Have used Turbo tax forever but this year it is not up to par. Not user friendly at all. Won't let you save to file later just keeps asking you to save save save! Disappointing!

Not updated properly. Go the run around blaming the CRA for locked forms and that was in fact a lie and software related. Will switch to different software in the future after 8 years of using.

Three years in a row I have not been able to file a tax return for my self-employed brother as it keeps rejecting stating wrong industrial code notwithstanding I have verified the code with CRA. When I tried to seek help from Turbo, I could not find any help. When I chose print and mail, the only copy that printed was duplicate that stated could not be sent by mail. I have had to prepare return manually. SO FRUSTRATING!! I would never buy TURBO except I do use it for other family returns. Looking for a new company next year.

Not able to override simple things like disability credits transferred to other person and this software doesn't let you netfile. Its not very userfriendly, great for dummies though. Anything complicated and it is useless.

I have used this program for over 10 years now. Will no longer use it. Wasted so much of my time trying to correct a java script error that kept popping up on every step in the Easy Steps setting. Uninstalling and reinstalling the program as suggested did not work.

Terms of Pro Review are unclear on-line, and not available outside a narrow window of time. Do yourself a favour and hire a tax specialist, rather than an online software peddler. Furthermore, TurboTax sends spam all year long concerning American tax concerns to their Canadian customers.

When attempting to use the software, I became very frustrated. I am a very longtime user and was most disappointed in the release I received this year. The software lacked the intuitiveness I had come to expect and would not update through Turbotax website. Emails I sent went unanswered. The software wasn't recognizing my email address as being in Canada???? and telling me to correct the email address. At one point after entering data for a long period of time, all my data disappeared not to be seen again. The inability to contact Turbotax by phone in the evening during the last 2 weeks before tax deadline was an impediment. The net result was that I late filed my taxes.

I used to file my taxes by paper (yes, I know) and then went with an accountant for the past couple of years. This year I decided to file them myself as my accountant retired. Sadly, I left it to the last minute and purchased TurboTax Premier to save time. It did not save me any time, was difficult to follow with little to no explanation, used silly catch phrases, and offered an absolutely useless search tool. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone and found that it was a waste of my money and time. I have also asked an accountant friend to review them as TurboTax had me owing more money than ever before, including a huge jump from last year with no changes in my finances/life. TurboTax does of course offer to charge you more money if you would like someone to review your filing before you submit - they apparently already know that their product is not very good.

The tax software did not optimize my charitable donations in spite of using the optimization tool. My call to the help line resulted in no help at all. The person on the other end did not know how their software works and gave me information that was contradictory to what their own software said (they said that the charitable donations had to be claimed by the person making the lowest income, in spite of what their own help software says. Never mind that there would be no reason to optimize if it had to be utilized by the lower income earner). Their solution was to over ride the system but they didn't know how to do it. Then their solution was to reinstall the product. When I questioned that, they hung up. I will seriously consider using another provider next year.

The final copy of pdf version does not reflect what is entered online - ex Disability Credit. Also when making corrections to data or info entered the Turbo Tax program does not delete the previous amount entered and the result is amount of income is higher than actually recorded.

Compared to the standard version. The T5008 and capital gain S3 forms are confusing. People could easily make mistake by double counting.

Help info is poor. Doesn't allow one to change name and address easily. Doesn't hide task bar with windows 10. Very frustrating! Not clear on how it fills in forms from cra. Doesn't handle joint ownership of for all possible forms.

I had a massive program error and could not find a way to fix it without redoing the entire form. I phoned help and told them what the problem was and they hung up on me. The problem included a rebate of over 150,000 on a net income of $40k!

Navigation is not friendly, descriptions are not clear, I had doubts in most of the steps. It could have been designed better.
