Terrible 2017 Turbotax
The entries were simple to follow and review, I think, was easy but somewhere in the process I could not print the return to CRA. It prints out copies of the file for your records but does not print returns to be sent to the CRA. The installer needed for your computer or printer does not function and does not appear to work for your computer, nor the printer. It's not nice to find this out on 27 April, a weekend.

Still in the Endless Loop
TurboTax will not complete. Goes around and around. Support is useless. After decades of using this product this will be the last. I used it because it brought the last year forward each year and since it does not think this is complete, I suspect it won't bring this year forward next year. Very disappointing

So poor, so sad
For individuals with foreign income, things couldn't have been made more complicated. No exch. rate options are given, neither any explanations. However, when you read the printed forms, you see that exch rate options are there.

They Just want You to Upgrade
Turbotax wanted me to upgrade all the way the premier to deal with capital gains this year. There was no value of premier of standard over the basic, it just netted Turbotax additional revenue.

Poor & Outdated
Overdue for a full makeover. Help didn't work. Worry about accuracy. Outdated interface, could be much simpler and more intuitive, very expensive for what you get. Seems buggy and poorly tested. Expect much more. Should have more guidance built in. Poor

Too many problems using Turbo Tax Premium
Problems galore with Turbo Tax Premium:
1. No carry-overs from 2016 (used same software). We had to retype - even address of rental property & UCC at start of year. Never happened before 2017.
2. Disability tax credit -I filled in worksheet, correct amounts initially showed on lines 316 Fed & 5844 Ont. After I net filed 2017 returns these lines showed zero on Sch.1 & ON428 - a mystery. Result - 2017 tax owing has been overstated by $1,700!
3. A FEW DAYS AFTER CHARITABLE DONATIONS WORKSHEET was completed & saved & total on Schedule 9, it mysteriously disappeared. All receipts had to be entered again.
4. Turbo Tax calculates CCA on class 1 4% first before higher depreciation rate classes e.g. 8 @ 20%. This runs counter to what tax experts would recommend. We were unable to override as this prevents being able to net file return! I have raised this question before but Intuit ignores client suggestions. So again we file T1 ADJ to correct this in years when maximum CCA cannot be claimed.
5. Entered all 2016 medical expenses on worksheet total $ 4,293 but T Tax only included $1,620 on line 330. We were unable to override with correct amt. Had to file a T1 ADJ.
Conclusion: Use another software

From Good to Bad
I have been using software from days of Quick Tax. Found it very good and easy to use.However over years program is getting less and less user friendly.
OR is it designed that way so you can force people to buy your "marketing" help ??

No support or help at all
I had a number of problems with the program and tried to get some help in so many ways and there was never a reply and I was left to do some work manual. this is the first year your system showed so many problem and I am very disappointed.

Poorest version yet
I has several issues this year which include not allowing me to enter tax installment payments using the forms method.
I has to manually change the spouse claiming the medical expenses even though I entered them under the spouse with the lower income.
When calculating eligible amount to transfer for education expenses it did not calculate the maximum amount.

Did Not Save Information
This is the first time in 16 years that I've been using this product that it did not save information when requested. This resulted in the need to re-enter all information every time I opened the programme. If this is the way it will be in the future let me know and I will find another product.

Very Poor Support
After submitting my return and trying to set up ENOA everything froze. TurboTax not responding came up and after waiting and hoping it would resolve, I restarted TurboTax the software resumed just before sending the return again. It will not finish and keeps looping to sending the return. Support was not helpful as the suggested just send it again or wait and check if was received. (a two day wait) I have used TurboTax and the predessor for over 20 years. Very Very Very disappointing support

Not that smart
Why is it I have to search all over to enter simple medical expenses and the same with capital loss from other years to be enter. Did a auto fill and the numbers were so out so wack. I used this Turbo Tax for a few years now but not sure if I will use it again!

premium
worst purchase ever. used turbo tax for the past 5 years. never needed customer service. however in 2018, it is 28 February and the netfile button still greyed out. went to website and tried all remedies. my tax situation does not demand greying out netfile. tried phoning;annoying experience. you get computerized voice and after you speak you hear keyboard annoying clicks. very poor and annoying way to tick off your annoyed customers. the computer voice directs to a website that is useless. no live voice. turbo tax premier is not cheap.

Worst Edition for Windows 10
I have been getting nothing but issues this year for the software. I used it on a Windows 10 PC. It kept popping the error "Automation Server can't create object". I have clicked at least 3000 (exaggerated) times to get through the tax filing for me and my wife.

A giant step back - it sucks now.
A real step back. I could not net file and could not figure out why. I could not print the summary - had to us snip it and copy to word. Didn't think to look in view to see the return tax status when I went through the process. And the summaries won't show up now.
Tried help and it really sucked. It was no help, just a wast of time.
Have always been happy in the past, but it really sucks now. Whats with nickname? Now I have finished, can't find a button to send.

Very bad software
Let's begin by saying the truth: I do not recommand this software to anyone. It does many mistakes and I'll have to file an adjustment later to fix all the bugs TurboTax did on my return. Do not buy!

Text too small and text cutoff
I recently purchased a new laptop with a high resolution display (3200 x 1800). Unfortunately some of the TurboTax 2016 screens are unreadable including the T-Slips data entry screen because the text is too small to read. The workarounds provided on the TurboTax web site did not resolve the issue. I also called Tech Support but two separate agents could not resolve the issue either.

Problems from the start
I didn't have a great experience with Turbo Premier. Maybe it was my computer but it didn't load properly so a flag came up each window indicating some script couldn't be found. Three quarters through the return, I mistakenly typed in an incorrect amount on one line, and there was nothing I could do to make the correction. I would change it on the page but the summary would always show my original mistaken amount. Later, when I mistakenly checked the wrong box, I was instructed to go back to a different previous page to make the correction. I couldn't find in unfortunately. And lastly the program advised me that if I entered my daughters filing first it would be helpful when I did mine later. Unfortunately that tip didn't pop up until after I had started my own return. I was a bit frustrated by the end.
