Suggestions
Excellent program, but I have a few suggestions to make it better.
Alternate Minimum Tax calculation could be filled in by Turbo Tax as all of the information is in the return.
Secondly, on the Rental Income Sheets, page 1 has the name and address of the property, as well as a rental property #, but the second page has nothing to match it up with the first page and if they get mixed up, it is quite a task to get them back together correctly.
Even if it has the rental property # on the second page would do it.

very happy
My one complaint was it took me longer to input our medical expenses than it did to input all the rest of our information. Can you not come up with a simpler procedure for the this item. Our prescription receipts show the cost of the drug and what I actually paid but not the benefit. I do a separate spread sheet listing all the receipts, costs, and amount paid, then I have to calculate each receipt to determine the benefit for inclusion on the return.
Combining all prescription receipts on one entry helps but the same amount of time and work is still required.

Used it and its predecessor for around 15 years.
Very convenient for carry forward of information.
Changes to NetFile this year made it just a little more simple.
I still use Quicktax tracker - wished it was supported/updated to capture market prices.

How did we ever manage before TurboTax
No complaints with the process. The Easy Steps works very well and switching to the Forms helps to visualize the actual return. Suggestion: Eliminate any forms that are zero at the printing stage. I completed 5 returns for my family this year and each one had numerous unnecessary forms pop up at the printing stage. See you next year.

Easy Peasy

Excellent value
Turbo tax is easy to understand and use. Lots of double checks and suggestions so you feel confident you have accounted for everything. Efiling was quick and easy. With our tax returns along with my sister and my parents its excellent value for the money.

Filing Made Easy
for a senior, the program was easy to use, simple instructions to follow and made correction easy when I made an error.
I have use TurboTax and its the program that predated it for years.

Could use one more thing
Turbo Tax automatically splits amounts on T5 and T3 slips when they are jointed shared between spouses. However, there is no way to do this on stocks sold which are jointly held. If they could also be split by the program 50/50 when applicable, it would be a big help. Otherwise, very happy with the product. As we have both rental and investment income, it makes filing our taxes much easier.

Been using for a long time.
I have used Turbo Tax & it's predecessor for many years & have found that it is very easy to use & answers or directs to me to the answers for any questions I may have. The first year I used it I saved almost $900 based on the information that was contained within the program.

Excellent - but foreign income needs improvement
This is very easy to use, and is as far as I can tell considerably more accurate than my accountant was in previous years. I have only three issues that would make this almost perfect:
1- There should be a MAC version that can be used on the computer, not online. The Heartbleed virus is ample evidence of why we should be concerned about confidential tax information going over the internet. I have a Windows partition just for this purpose, which I use once a year. Relearning Windows every year (and do not get me started on Windows 8) is painful. Turbotax itself is great - Windows is not, particularly when you do not use it regularly.
2- US income is not handled properly. There is no place in Easy Step to input taxes withheld at source. I had to go in manually and figure out how to put that in after Easy Step was finished. It should be entered at the same time you enter other foreign income. Also, when you have to enter the foreign exchange rate, it is not obvious whether to input $Can = .90 $US or $US = 1.10 $Can. There should be an example when that input is requested.
3- The political contribution input is unclear. I initially input the same contribution as foreign and provincial, thinking that meant it would apply to both the foreign and provincial tax return. It should be obvious that if you do that, you are counting the contribution twice.
These are minor complaints (but they should be fixed). Overall I am very happy.

The Format is realatively easy to follow,some parts were a little confusing once i got to the FIX part of the form, hopefully all the numbers are where they should be.Once you click on the forms wasn't sure how to get back. overall good product just have to use it more then once a year !
