Northern Allowance
When asked in the profile it indicates if you are a northern resident or not. It does not take this information and take you to the form required for the deduction for northern residents. A person has to find the form themselves. It would be helpful if a person were taken to that form if they had indicated that they were, in fact a northern resident.

The software is easy to use. I had one problem with line 477 in Quebec tax return. If you miss checking the option of transferring your balance to your spouse; it is very hard to know where it should be entered. When you click on line 477 it does not tell you that you have to go to InFows.

Used Turbo Tax for many years
This is very easy to use, covers all the possibilities that can come up for the average user. I have a couple of rentals and it handles that very well. I've been using this for over 15 yrs. (by other names) and would highly recommend it.

Buy TurboTax every year
My wife and I do our taxes every year with TurboTax as it is very straight forward, simple and user friendly to use. It takes very little time and I like that it does both at the same time.

Easy and fast, but...
I like TurboTax, I've been using it for years (Quicktax) Its very easy to use, they ask questions, you answer them. I just did my taxes in about 30 minutes, which is about 29 minutes longer than I want to be doing my taxes, but about 2 hours faster than doing it by hand. The only thing I don't like is Intuit's privacy policy. They can use your personal information, such as sharing it with marketers. You can prevent future secondary use of your information by "opting out" when Intuit collects your information or at any time by simply contacting them. Except you can't opt out electronically, you have to print out a form, fill it out and snail mail it in to them. Nice of them to make it difficult, thus retaining ownership of your information...

This program is easy to use, improved over last year, and faster as well.

Not bad at all
Was sometime tricky going back and forth but Turbo Tax has tried to make it simple. Improvements are still needed such as navigating and maybe pictures of forms to make it easier for the regular folk.

Use easy step
If you want a concise way to do your taxes. I recommend the "easy step" method of Turbo Tax. Gather all your forms, have them handy, and the software walks you through the entire process step by step, right through filing electronically if you wish. If you miss a form or get some additional info to input later, I like to "take me to" option to get to the correct input area quick and easy.
My wife's return and mine can be completed in as little as one hour, including filing. Which is fantastic.
I'll continue to use Turbo Tax because it's fast, easy, and accurate.

Turbo Tax
Did not import my documents from E-post or offer any mailer options at all. There were dozens of complaints in the system regarding this. I have never had issues with this before.
Apart from having to enter everything by manually, the software worked as expected.

I have used TurboTax for years.
I love that it carries forward previous years information.

Has worked for me for years!
Overall, over the years, a very positive experience. Have always used the Step system. but this year did try entering directly into the tax forms. Worked quite well once I figured out the system. Had one problem with entering a business with the system not allowing me to zero out the capital cost depreciation as we did not want to use depreciation this year. Could not figure out how to override the system calculated amount. Other than that, pretty good, although I still have to see the finished product and make sure it is right (not a true computer user, obviously!!(,

Not perfect, but....
Found the Donation and Medical Expenses Optimizers impossible to use. No matter what changes I tried to make (and I couldn't make the ones I really wanted to) they had absolutely no effect as nothing seemed to "register". The "summary" at the bottom never changed from one scenario to the next. Aside from those two frustrations, I would still recommend the product. Saves ooooooodles of time over doing it the old fashioned paper and pencil way.

Review Messages don't match screens
I'm relatively happy with ease of using TurboTax, except:
- I've carried forward a Capital Loss for several years, claiming part each year against capital gains. TT knows how much I have left to use, and should AUTOMATICALLY do that instead of me having to find the LOSS form and do it.
- During Review, your messages don't match reality of your screens. One said "You still have flags set - to review them, click on the Flags icon at the top of your screen" but there was no such icon. Charitable Donations page suggested using the Charitable Donation Optimizer but had no link to it. At another point in the Review, it said "use the navigation tabs at the top of the screen to return to the .... section" but there were NO navigation tabs on that screen. Your messaging REALLY needs improvement next year.
- On the other hand, e-filing was much simpler and faster this year.
