easy to use
The instructions were clear; easy and step-by-step. It took about as much time as it would if I did it by hand myself -- so no great time savings but all the calculations were done for me! And it was nice to get it done and Netfile it all in one sitting.
A good purchase for basic needs!

Some of the wording is confusing. Especially since it tells you that it will optimize your refund to benefit both parties (me and the hubby) but then it makes you think you should both be getting a tax credit and both should not be getting that tax credit when it walks your through your individual reviews. Mucho confuso!

Errors this year
This is my first year filing with a dependent. For some reason this caused an override which could only be resolved through manually changing it in the forms. Easysteps failed me this year, and this added an extra hour of frustration.

Gets the job done
Used this procuct for years now. It's quick and easy. I like that it transfers what it can from last year. Although it does not transfer your housing information in Ontario tax credit sectioon. That roll number is always a trip to the ol' filing cabinet.

Problem with 2 parents claiming 2 depend tuition
I completed Turbo tax for myself and my wife together. When it comes to claiming separate dependent tuition amounts, the software completely messes it up, and I had to separately go in and remove the amount from the other spouse, otherwise it lumps them both together.
This is poor programming, as the program should be able to identify both amounts being applied separately to different spouses.

Super Easy Netfile

Frustrating Error
We received an error for manually overriding a value, but we hadn't actually performed an override. We tried fixing the problem numerous times with no success. We finally removed all the data from that section of the form in order to file online. VERY frustrating!

Great product
This is a wonderful product, especially after you've used it once, then the next year it populates all of your information automatically.
The one thing that I would like to see is automatically adding the Northern Residents Deduction based on your address or at least asking a question about it. The first time I used TurboTax, I was not aware of the NRD and missed it totally, then I had to go back and file an amended return after I realized that I was eligible for it.

Turbo Tax
The best or most improved part of Turb tax is the netfile. It now does it without you having to find the file. The format is easy to file and it lets you know if you have made an error. It maximises spousal returns for your benefit.

Purchase it every year
