Beats paper and pencil
Once you have 'navigated' througth the program at least once or twice; and through the many 'Go to's', it becomes very easy to do the actual return correctly!! The 'Go to's' are VERY useful too, and getting to them initially, then returning mid-way througth the process is easy.... Alto-gether, a very good prog, that has been well-thought out in order to maximize its user- friendly status.... David C. Bird

I have an issue with one particular tax return for an individual and I am having the sameproblem year after year...I can't seem to print his return. I have to save it in PDF and then print it. Kinda nuisance.

User Friendly Product
This is my second year filing my returns with turbo tax. I have a very simple tax return (no rrsps or investments to complicate the matter) and this does the job perfectly. When I do get more complicated returns (house, rrsps, investments, other sources of income ie. rental properties ) I would rather switch to a professional for peace of mind, but thus far I have been very satisfied with the product.

Good, But Glitchier than before
I've used TurboTax for several years now, and enjoy its ease of use.
However, I claimed moving expenses this year, and the entry fields in the step-by-step entry were glitchy and defaulted to single-digit integers every time. This neccessitated the use of the forms view to complete that section of my taxes. This could easily have been missed, and would have cost me thousands of dollars on this year's return.

Gets easier every year
I've been using TurboTax (and QuickTax before that) for over 10 years now, and it just gets faster and easier to use every year. Even if your return isn't so straightforward, you just have to tell it what applies to you and the software does the rest.
I also like how it links information from year to year and even person to person - we claim some of our daughter's tuition credits and those totals are loaded automatically into our returns when she enters them on hers. No mistakes or oversights.
The one thing I think is a little cumbersome is that if you want to add a new deduction, you have to navigate from the beginning of that section in EasyStep in order to get to where you enter it. I'm not confident enough to use the 'GoTo' function without wondering if I've entered it in the right place.
Overall, I like using this software. It make me look forward to tax season a little bit. I definitely recommend it to friends.

This year, in order to save a few dollars, I purchased another online tax program. It was so inferior to TurboTax, and so difficult to use that I returned to the store and bought TurboTax once again. In my view it is worth the extra dollars to have a program that is much simpler to use.

Another Painless Income Tax
Turbo Tax allows you to explore several different ways to submit your taxes, quickly, to try to maximize our return.
The pension income splitting produced the highest return.

Great Software
Our household is a fairly simple tax filing home and the use of TurboTax makes it even easier and gives me the confidence I want knowing that what I file is correct and has all of the benefits captured to ensure I get the most back on my return.

the only problem I had was with pension splitting I had to return a few times before I realized which button I had to push
For signing up for the tax protection I don't see why it could not be auto filled from the tax return, the same with the billing information

OK - I guess
Generally an OK product , with some minor glitches......
1) there were references to 2012 in the 2013 return document - somewhat disconcerting?
2) if you use the 'assisted' format it is difficult to save your spot if you want to fill out the form over several sittings (ie return to previous end-point at a later date)
3)irritating 'constant' REMINDERS to upgrade the program to a more expensive version OR to pay for other services!!

So much easier than filling forms
Every year I use the software I become more familiar with it. Still a bit confusing at times but not as confusing as filling the paper form. I like the help and the optimize features that show you where deductions may be more useful to me or my spouse. The price is right compared to having someone else file and the ability to go back and change something you did wrong because you didn't quite understand is great. Love the net file feature also, don't have to send all forms and wait.

Improved Interview Process
I liked the new "interview" process where one is asked about all circumstances that may apply to him at the beginning and then is presented with all the appropriate forms in sequence. It provides a better flow than the previous process where one did interview, form, interview, form and so on for each potential situation.

Very Good Tax Program
A very good program as long as you have a simple return to do. Being a Quebec resident and having both T4's and RL1's along with T4A's and RL2, there is a learning curve to get them all entered correctly. But maybe it is just me. Overall it is still a good program and seems to cover all the bases in the questions it asks.

This Is The Only Way To Do Taxes
None of us like to do taxes, and we want to get them out of the way as quickly and easily as possible. TurboTax does just that. I'll use it until I'm dead, as long as it keeps everything quick and easy.

I like the program but not the most friendly for users. For example - question do you want me to print blank copies of your return for schedules that are blank answer NO but it prints anyway. Then it adds schedules you haven't even looked at. When you look at a schedule you can't delete it from the list or easily clear a schedule i.e. on the bottom of the screen. You can't delete or clear a schedule that you don't want to use. I do like the new Netfile automated approach but then the program does not give you a chance to print out any kind of confirmation...man o man when will Turbo tax check with users as to how they would like to see things???
