So Simple year after year
We purchase Turbotax to complete our taxes...and have purchased Turbotax since 2007. It makes it so much easier to figure out all expenses and deductions without getting out the calculator and pencil!

OK with hicups
Mostly this worked well but I'm not convinced that the donations advice was correct so eventually ignored it. Others also commented that there was a problem with the optimizer. Did not want to spend even more $$ on advice which in the past had been a free phone call.
Really liked the speedy Netfile this year.

Medical Expenses
When entering medical expenses on your returns, remember to enter receipts for 2013 only. I entered some for 2012, then I had to delete these ones as they were not valid for this current tax year. If I had known this before, I would have saved time this year doing my families returns.

turbo tax is very good TILL YOU GET TO PRINTING-you should have a simple tag to print DETAILED SUMMARY ONLY-click & you print this one page only-how hard can it be to program!!!!
every year have to search FOREVER to find access to print detailed summary ONLY-when seniors discuss turbo tax this always come up! fix it please!

comments on Turbotax
Ive used this program for about 10 years. It is pretty easy to use, but sometimes its hard to get back to the home page.
Sometimes if you click on a number it goes to the page to show where that number came from, and other time it does not. Different colours for links and non links would help
I find it asks you some questions which are irrelevent even though I have already answered a question which makes it ovoius that question does not apply

netfiling
Everything was going along well until it came to netfile then the program would only let me choose file later. After some exploring I found that an update and registration was required. After I did that it worked fine. Perhaps a little more info about this would save users a bit of time and less stress.

delay between screens
I found the product to be slow this year, compared to other years. I always seemed to be looking at a blank page, waiting for a form to come up, or to take me to the next step, in preparation for netfiling.
The direct netfile feature this year, was much easier than in previous years.
Overall, a great product. Have used it for years, and plan to continue to do so.

I have used Tax Programs for several years now and mostly it has been Quick Tax of which you now have changed to Turbo Tax!
I didn't like that changed last year regarding the code that was needed to be able to Netfile . I felt it was a safeguard. Now you have made it simplier but I don't have a access to print a page to know it has been filed.
Yes, I get the comformation # then write on the printed file for the record, but I really preferred the old way much better. I do most of my families returns and a few friends.

Quick to Use
There are only a couple of issues I have with this. The first is that it is not easy to go back and fix something if you want to see if a deduction helps or not. Also, I do not want to change my default browser, and I do not like programs that try to make me change. I have already been asked at lease twice.

Ease of use...
I have been using TB for 4 years now, it continues to be one of the best software out in the market. I use to dread tax time, but now I feel I can deal with our tax issues with confidence. I do recommend TB for 1st timer or people who have done taxes the old way. Goodbye pencil & eraser, you did good but its time for TurboTax. The new way of filing with CRA has greatly improved the speed and efficiency of the process.

Has a few glitches
I have used TurboTax for about 6 years, and have found it a very good program. However, this year I found some glitches that made me check with our accountant for errors. TurboTax would not accept my corrections, and the error message persisted, so I could not use NetFile, only the paper variety, and had to make the corrections on the paper copy in ink, before sending it in. I hope they get those fixed before next year's program comes out. I will use it next year.
