overall process good but netfile not easy
the overall process was good - however, kept getting error on NETFILE process... the "help" said the turbotax needed to be checked for updates - did that, didn't work - finally went to intuit site through google chrome (instead of explorer) and it worked great...
seems Intuit doesn't like Explorer...
(lot of questions on help site with same issue).

Good but can be smarter
It still felt pretty much similar to the previous year tax preparation. The easy step process is kind of long but straightforward and predictable. NetFile simplified as you do not need to enter that access code any more, but there would be nice to have a warning before the NetFile, that this is a final step and there is no way back.
It's not free of glitches, but mostly minor, sometimes need to click twice on a button to make it work.
Most frustrating part of the process was a program's stubbornness of applying some expenses to my spouse return instead of mine incorrectly with dropping of the return amount. I guess that would be fixed later in the review, but I'd prefer the best return amount to be visible at all times.
Will I use TurboTax again? Sure I will, the overall value still beats the minor inconveniences.

Not Bad
Everything worked well but at the end the helpfull hints were not helpful. Example : Ensure correct person is claiming medical expense when I just completed the optimizer for that .

Use of Warnings to Sell your other Products
Your use of warnings to sell other products is low it forced me to check my return multiple times when in fact I did not exceed your warning amount if it applied to me kindly yes make sure I warned but just to try and sell your tax insurance against audit is just low and cause me lot of extra time and effort.

iMPROVEMENTS PLEASE
I tried to run on my new laptop with WIN 8.1 and
it won't load so I was forced to revert to an old
WIN XP machine I had mothballed - please fix
TT so it runs on latest version of WINDOWS.

COULD USE SOME IMPROVEMENTS
I would like to see the standard with at least 15 returns over $25,000 and a total of 35 returns. I find most people working today make over $25,000. And the price remain close to what it is now, I realize that's 15 more returns, but I think you would have more people purchase the product if they could get more returns out of it. My family uses more than 20 returns and almost all are over $25,000.

Plus and Minus
2013's version of TurboTax was slower in processing than previous versions. Some of the explanations of what information was required were not as clear this year. Netfile was much easier and faster but should have said that you NEED to click on the link to the "terms and conditions" page instead of it being an error when you didn't. Small things, but after years of using the product they stood out as "should have been better" things. All in all an excellent and easy to use product for filing your taxes. I will continue to use it next year.

Very Good
Usually very good occasionally some field comes up that is confusing. EX: my wife had a warning that she had overridden something and this prevented here from e-filing. I looked for the overrides using the recommended procedure of "Go to forms and then review/find overrides", this did not find any overrides to fix. But I had to fix them before e-filing. Program has a small bug.

Too much advertising and upselling
Throughout the program Turbo Tax is always trying to upsell and get the consumer to pay more for additional services.

I just wanted to do my taxes
Wouldn't it be nice if I could purchase a program that would just do my taxes? Instead Turbo Tax keeps bugging me to purchase Tax Guard or whatever they call it.
All I wanted to do was my taxes LIKE I PAID FOR.
Perhaps one OPT out of annoying stuff button would be a good idea.
Years ago this is how this program worked and I could do my taxes without being constantly annoyed.

Gets better every year

Good Solid Tool
I have found Turbotax quite easy to use and have used it for at least 5 years. It is handy for transferring last year's data to the current return, and making comparisons between years.

Very good product
Turbo Tax helps with tips to save you money - obviously, they know all the rules which you may not be aware of and help you with things like income splitting. The only 'con' I found is that sometimes the questions are a bit difficult to figure out, when the answer can't be a simple "yes" or "no".

It does have bugs
All was going well, until the review process. For both our returns, TT keps saying that there was an error and that we've entered Medical Expenses and needed to enter a date range.
I did not select medical expenses. Yet, I returned to that portion to confirm and in fact, both our options for Medical where checked off as NO.
So for some reason, TT is not seeing or accepting the NO option.
What's worse, it was painful to even get to the point where I could check it. The FIX option was useless, because it insisted on a date range, but no option to say NO MEDICAL EXPENSES.
I hope that kind of bug is fixed for next year.
